I bought ArmA 2 in the latter part of may from gamersgate and it worked fine (with a little juddering) for the whole time i was playing the Main Campaign, tutorials, single missions etc. I wanted to try the Multiplayer but it said i had to update to the latest patch, which i did. Thats when the probalems started. I cannot play the Eagle Wing campaign, the Armory or Editor for more that 15 minutes before the screen goes black. The really strange thing is that i can still hear everything happening in the background as normal, and if i use the W,A,S,D keys to move i can hear my guy move about.I can fire and everything its just i cannot SEE anything, the screen is fully black. No error message no freaky sounds just a black screen that can be easily gotten out of by using CTRL+ALT+DEL. I'm using: Alienware Area-51 with Windows Vista 32 bit Service Pack 2 Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU X9650 @3.00 GHZ (4 CPU's), ~3.0GHz Supercharged Nvidia Geforce 295 GTX (three times as powerful as a normal 295 GTX) 4GB RAM Could any of you please help? i really like the game but i cant play it due to this.

I'm having a bit of trouble with the latest ACE version.. I know its not the stable version i have a problem with, but the other threads seem to have been closed by over zealous moderators :mad::mad: Anyway, here is my problem: I cannot get gasmasks, balaclavas, ear plugs etc to work. I've edited the Userconfig file for my game profile but they wont show up even if they are in my inventory. Can someone help me? Or direct me to the right thread?

I have had this niggling little wuestion ever since i read the info section in a mission. Why do all the AI people refer to Chernarus as an Island? Is it part of a large island?

in the Ace Demo 'mission' for me, the box that is suppost to be full of everything is empty. How do i remedy this?

i'm having a little trouble with the Helicopter and Airplane aspects of the game. 3 problems with the Helicopters: 1)The gunner doesnt seem to do his job. He rarely fires and he doesnt switch between Missiles and machine guns. 2) I cant figure out how to switch the gunners weapons, as he doesnt do it himself. 3) The missiles doesnt lock on to other aircraft and vehicles. Plane problems 1) The bloody missiles dont lock on. This is unrealistic as the missiles on the planes in game are all fire-and-forget missiles, meaning: I should be able to target an enemy, get him so the square has a circle around the target then fire, THEN i should see the missile fly and try to hit. My problem is that the square that should come up when i hit TAB doesnt come up at all. If this is intentional, how the hell am i supposed to fire fire-and-forget missiles without a targetting system (and if anyone mentions Star Wars and the 'Force' i'll scream :)) Problem 1 for the airplanes and problem 3 for the helicopters are pretty much exactly the same, but they both really annoy me. I mean, the targetting square comes up for the rockets and the machine guns, but not for ANY missiles. How do i fix this???

a couple of questions reguarding equipment: Earplugs and balaclavas, goggles, shades and glasses. How do i use these? Also, reguarding heavy weapons, does the stand (tri pod) and gun have to match up, or can i put any gun on any stand? Also, how do i get AI troops to parachute out of aircraft?

Can i just ask, how do you talk in multiplayer? As in, type chat in multiplayer (as i cant seem to figure out how to set up my mic). I cant find the key you need to press to bring up the text chat thing. Please help!.

I second this. Make it much simpler to install. Do i run six updater with or without Autoskip active????

but i havnt got a microphone, so how am i supposed to talk to the team?

Having a little trouble playing on multiplayer. I have the latest version (i think), which is version v1.0.10.316. However, whenever i play on a server running ACE 2, it says i need to update to version v1.0.10.336 or something like that. I cannot find v1.0.10.336 anywhere and its really annoying me. Could someone please give me a link to the latest version download please?

I'm having a little trouble installing ACE2. I've followed the instructions, but whenever i try to start it off of the shortcut, it says that 'ace_clientside_config.hpp' is missing when its actually in the right place with the other three files. CAn someone please explain this to me cos i really want to play online, and as most poeple use ACE2, its pretty hard to find a game wihtout ACE2. Also i like the look of the features. EDIT: Never mind, i missread the instructions :|

To check my temperatures would I have to use a special program? If so, what do i have to do to get the program? Or is there a way to check on my PC anyway? I've had this prblem ages ago but it was fixed, it had something to do with the connection between my Graphics card(s) and the processor/CPU. I had a look in my computer earlier and all connections are fine. It also doesnt explain why i can play certain parts of the game no problem and other parts with a problem.:( I also cleared my computer of dust and it still does the crashing. Would reinstalling help?

Sorry if this has been said before but i'm not sifting thru over 105 pages of posts to check so i'll just say it: 1) Where can i download? 2) Is it complicated to download? -Ignore this 3) If the answer to 2 is yes, is there a tutorial for downloading? -Ignore this 4) Is everything that is in ACE 1 in ACE 2? 5) Could someone please tell me the main changes from ACE 1 to ACE 2? -Ignore this thanks. P.S: Again, sorry if this has been said before but as i said, i'm a lazy git. EDIT: infact, you can just ignor me, i must be blind and dumb.....:)

If you count supercharging it as Overclocking, then yes. But it came like that. It was advertised as a supercharged nvidia geforce GTX295 ---------- Post added at 07:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:09 PM ---------- Also, the problem seems to have changed. Now the screen goes black and then into power-save mode (like screen saver) and the computer fans start roaring like they are sucking in much more air, like they are suddenly working much harder. OR The game will freeze, whlist at the same time repeating the last sound to come out of the speakers REALLY LOUDLY. On both occasions the computer is not responding and i have to do an emergency shutdown by keeping the power button pressed until it turns off. This is getting worse. I've got the latest drivers and everything! Please help :(:(

Sorry if this has been said before but i couldnt find it in the search engine so...: Computer: I'm running a Core 2 Duo Extreme @ 3 GHz processor Nvidia Geforce Superclocked 295 GTX 1500 Watt power pack 4GB Ram 1.8 TB Harddisk Windows Vista 32bit home premium Alienware computer and i keep having this prblem with ArmA 2: I can be happily playing the game and all of a suden it will stutter 3-5 times then the game will freeze for a split second before the screen goes black only showing the cursor. I can still hear in game sounds like the game is still carrying on, but i cannot see anything. I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get out. As soon as the game has 'ended task' a little popup, well, pops up telling me: 'Your Display Driver Has Stopped Responding But Has Sucessfully Recovered' I have tried updating the drivers to the latest, then i tried rolling back to driver version 196 from 197 and nothing worked. I've heard its a Vista Problem? Is that so? Is there any other causes? What do i do? The strange thing is, is that the game works fine on the Main Campaign, Boot Camp and Single missions, however if i try to play on the Armoury and the 3rd and 4th missions in the Eagle Wing campaign that is when this happens. I'm not sure if it happens on the Editor or Online as i cannot figure out how to use the editor and i'm not an online player (as in, i like to play by myself.

ArmA 2 is the only game this happens on so i doubt its my graphics card, and i've already rolled back to the 196 version of drivers, and it still does it. I've done everything on the solutions and none have worked its really annoying me as i've been able to play half the game but i cant do the Armoury or Editor.

China and India dont like each other very much do they....
