Thanks, hardware is fairly good. Just the way the game is presented seemed clunky, but it would be no prob at all if the gameplay picked up some. So Combined ops the way to go then. Ive seen two prices for it so far from the website, one was 59 bucks, the other is around 30.. hmm, sprocket a good place to go?

Hi, i just tried Arma 2 free. It seemed like it could be a great game, but all the servers were terrible. They played this map called domination, and all people seemed to do was fly jets and choppers blowing everything up and being 'very silly'. It was one of the worst experiences i have had online lol. But, i just want to know if it's worth getting arma2 combined ops, or whatever the latest version is. I like the infantry stuff, maybe one transport chopper but the jets and all that just bring gameplay down to a really bad level. Is there hope, are there good servers, and lots of them for the latest arma version? (Im in Australia btw) I can see it could be a really great game, but if there is little difference from arma 2 free, then i wont bother. Also it seemed clunky(all settings lowest), the physics was basically broken, and loads of stupid gameplay 'things' were happening. Is there a difference in the basic code of arma 2 free and the latest versions? I just want to know if the game is able to live up to what is possible, it seems like a lot is possible, but has it become a reality, and if i choose to buy, where and how should i do it? Because the first time i bought arma 1, i did so from digital river, and they ripped me off, i got a broken piece of software, and they ran away with my money.... Wow can't believe im actually asking if i should buy this..! It's really been a gong-show!

Was it a download version of the game?

I had the same problem with the menu being black, no graphics, couldnt load any missions..... I found the prob was that all the addon files (pbo's) had not been unpacked, and so i did it all manually, took a few hours! And it worked after that. Except ofcourse i got errors, and invalid cd-key sht when trying to play online after patching. Yes thankyou atari you made a real f mess of the digital download. Iceholes!

Run it in admin mode?? Right clik it and choose run as admin....

Yeah true. I bought the game online and i suffer the same g'damn problems. And get very little support. Its bs. Reminds me of a pic i once saw. "E-thugs", because talkin sht in person is dangerous.

Its Arma gold. Does that make a difference? I want to get 1.18 but last time i tried it said cd-key invalid. Ive unistalled reinstalled blablabla, now i need to shake up customer support because of too many activations. What a joke. So i looked on atari's site for patches, Arma combat ops had patches for download, whilst Arma Gold had none....?....? Any help much appreciated. Thanks

Im using ofp launcher for my game and found that i can host games and presumably join mp games from that. So i am requesting some ip # so i can join some games. So please share! Thankyou

Did you find anything out? Im having exact same problem with Vista. I bought arma, but my computer blew up...So now ive only got ofp on my laptop.. (Not to mention i was sold a shoddy version of arma! grr) Any help appreciated... is anyone getting mp working on vista?

Hi, short version 1)bought my game from atari site, thru digital river a) Took forever to get a key. Constantly being replied with emails embellished with product pins, or game codes, or serial numbers, etc etc. Never the right code. There is only one..ffs 2) Ever since installing 1.18 i get invalid cd key and cant get into any servers. I also would turn into a birdie at times (pre 1.18) telling me ive been a bad bird... So i want to roll back to 1.08 if thats possible or maybe try 1.14 etc. So any help appreciated. It looks like i bought a game that someone probably aqquired from a free source. Digital River, man look at youtube youll find them. Look like a coupl'a jail birds for sure. Did they devs arrange some business with the fucking mafia or something? LOL
