No, your the one assuming what i'm assuming. My original assumption was that the story would be far fetched but fun. ---------- Post added at 06:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:13 PM ---------- What would be more realistic is if an iranian nation armed with chinese equipment did it, considering the fact the US surrounds iran with military bases, it seems very unreasonable that they would waste there time assimilating technology when the best connection is that china invades the bases that surround iran and supplies iran for their invasion.
-
I'm just baffled at the idea that Iran can assimilate all this technology AND conquer the middle east into europe in only 18 years.
-
I honestly think that a chinese rise to power is more possible than an iranian rise to power. The only thing holding the chinese idea back is the DR game and BIS's hipster attitude about it.
-
I'm usually not a story authenticity nazi, but I find the concept of the campaign laughable and completely far off from what is most likely to happen. It will probably be very fun though.

Actually, java only may be an issue for some things. But java in arma is in its infancy.

Great game! NWNII was a bit of disappointment for me. It would be cool to revisit these very fun stories.

Iran is worried that the United States has the capacity for nuclear war
tacticalnuggets posted a topic in OFFTOPIC
http://www.theonion.com/articles/iran-worried-us-might-be-building-8500th-nuclear-w,27325/ Iran is extremely worried that a dangerous extreme regime might be building their 8500th nuclear weapon. The biggest worry is that the United States (the nation in question) could easily reach Iran with a nuclear weapon. More importantly, the United States has an extensive history of going to war, rapidly, without any direct provocation. :yay: -
The trouble with getting people into Arma
tacticalnuggets replied to instagoat's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
The reason why everyone plays coop is because the AI is very good in this game, and at the same time, there is a lack of raw MP numbers to support prolific PVP. EDIT: To make myself more clear, AI is good, no need to drastically improve and focus upon it. More important things need to be fixed in the actual human experience of getting into the game and using mods. -

I dont have an argument against AI, its just if you want more PEOPLE getting into the arma series, you need to stop bickering about AI command menus in a "getting people into Arma" thread. -

The point is that a post like this, which is a mini gold mine, was completely ignored because everyone is bickering over the stupid command menu. Something which is ill-relevant in an entirely human mission, and most people I know prefer entirely human fighting. -

Most gamers hate fighting against AI, they dont need a command menu against human players. A guy already posted in this thread the direct cause of his friends fear of the game. Clearly, nobody cared, because this thread has been derailed. -

This person hit the nail on the head, and what i've been shouting over and over and over again on this forum. MP and Mod management need major updates in our era. -

I understand what your saying antoine, but the animation system and physics has already been dramatically improved from what we have heard. The AI is always improving no matter what, and I tend to throw that out as an important issue, as it often just serves those who already play this game. The graphics look and sound much more optimized from their presentations. The problem is that we have not heard really anything in regards to improvements in multiplayer accessibility and mod management. There have been some "it might be on our list" hints from BIS, but they certainly have not taken any real spotlight. I understand that as far as advertising goes, you cant really advertise those sorts of improvements. But I certainly think that BIS has not truly grasped their importance in the long term. Since the OFP days, accessibility really has not improved in multiplayer besides JIP. EDIT: And I know sickboy loves to pop on and say sixupdater any chance he gets, so I must mention. Look at the sixupdater and you will see why this community strives more better mod management. -

Quick to play MP is hard because..... You guessed it! Zero built in mod management and downloading. -

+ better mod management. Imo the most prolific complaint I hear second to frame rate. -
How actve is Arma2 Arrowhead?
tacticalnuggets replied to ExoSkeleton's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Thanks for posting all this up. I was going to mention six updater but forgot. Hopefully exoskeleton will think about trying out a2. I'm sure if BIS installed six updater with the original game it would already see a decent improvement. -

Let me first tell you that hopefully there will be better mod management in A3 allowing a flood of people to join any server they want without having to search for the mods to download. Instead, hopefully the mods will start automatically downloading while in lobby as an option. The amount of PVP that exists is pretty small, and the MP community is already small itself because of mod seperation. Here are some youtube vids of PVP missions that exist in A2. How often have you moved around in your life because I am not a very fast runner, but I was a defensive line man in american football for a while and we could accelerate faster than in game. -

I hardly doubt that jumping on an AAS server and rampaging with a BMP3 is "too realistic" or "requires too much patients". I also dont believe that jumping into an ATF game means no more "respawning over and over again" when the it has 15 sec respawn and plenty of cqb maps. The problem is pure and simple, practically no accessibility to experience this stuff. -

I just dont think this is true. There are plenty of mods that missions that have all the things you have mentioned. The problem is accessing them. Too many people I talked to say they have trouble playing this game because its realistic but lacks people to enjoy it with online. -
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=16167 Version: 0.1 Beta Description: Kind of like a team death match, this game is purely about killing people. The surviving team gets an incredible amount of weapons to choose from, and when they die, they switch to the mob team and no longer have access to them. The job of the survivor team is to survive the game clock. The job of the mob team is to simply continue attacking the survivors, trying to kill them all before the clock ends. When you are part of the mob, you get infinite respawns and random crappy weapons. You could even start with a single satchel charge. In summary, this is similar to a zombie survivor style game mode, except this is human vs human. Not only is the game human vs human, but this game type does not currently work with AI. A battlefield perimeter prevents you from leaving the area. Tests Needed: Currently, numbers tests are needed to know if there needs to be more than one mob player to start off the game. Also, weapons tests would be good, and even battlefield size may be an issue.

The trouble with getting people into Arma
tacticalnuggets replied to instagoat's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I think the obvious answer exists in the automatic mod downloading thread. Almost all my friends play MP unless its a single player only game. Its an absolute nightmare for them to join an arma2 server, and most are empty. They think the game has the potential to be amazing but absolutely hate the multiplayer system. Its pretty obvious, in my mind, that the way to fix this game is by fixing multiplayer capabilities. -
Is there a possibility for global object "addresses" to be reused in a MP session? Say, the server puts a bunch of object addresses in a public array, one of the people quit, that persons player object becomes null. Then the person rejoins in the same slot and the global address becomes the same again. When the client player then compares his object address to the one in the array, it will appear the same. But that all assumes global address reuse is possible, and I have never really needed to worry about that behavior before. If there is one thing I have learned, never assume in a2.

Thats what i've been trying to say. Casual players is where all the money is made, and with a feature like this, we would not have to sacrifice realism to gain more players!
