Alex Scorpion Chambers

I was playing on our server after the A3 Update and when I opened the map (with out 3d terrain) I notice many of the markers are gone! i.e. gas stations. I also noted there are buildings missing, some forest and reed patches are no longer shown seems much of the map detail has been removed. Any one else notice this? If so any ideas to why?

Issue Resolved Complete Uninstall of all traces of steam, then reinstall steam and DLC. To my surprise after more than a week of Servers To Busy messages I got connection and was able to DL from steam!

Thanks Dwarden I deleted PMC a few days ago and still have not been able to DL it again. "Servers too Busy" :mad: no Addon in DLCsetup\PMC\PMC_Data

Yes BAF and PMC on top of OA. I tried to verify then launch all three one after the other but steam says servers to busy... also when I verify PMC I get a confirmation pop up asking if I want to delete Arma II OA PMC I never tried to delete it only verify files.

No joy Dwarden still no update! checked other servers no prob to get in Ver. 1.56 but any 1.57 is a no go so conclusion my steam has not updated! dunno why? I know others have gotten there update. I getting fed up with steam. I am likely going to have to try and find a CD of OA this is unacceptable! I was reluctant to use steam but could not find a retail copy none of it in my local stores, They seem not to bother carrying much for PC games any more. I guess big business's like software and retail seem to think there's not enough profit available from us PC gamers I guess we are obsolete! Its a shame cause games like ARMA have a huge following in the PC community.

Server =WB= ip 208.167.244.36:2302 There are others who have steam with updates that are not having any problems, so I don't think its a server issue or ARMA has to be steam related I think. possibly during the DL? I can not find a way of DL ing the patch again. Not running beta patch either. OK I just noticed when playing single player it shows on a splash screen ver. 1.56.7... Wonder why the server screen shows ver. 1.57 but the game splash shows ver. 1.56.7.... ? Must be a steam issue! Grrrrr

I am having this issue also! I have a steam version unfortunately. Steam says OA & PMC is updated to V1.57. When I am on the server page on the lower right it states Version 1.57 then below that Required 1.57 (in red) and when I launch i get error Bad Version....... I can't find a way of updating again. I am ignorant when it comes to steam. I guess I'll have to try steam support. I HATE STEAM!!!

As many have stated here ARMA2 is simulated military operations, I hesitate to call it a game its much more that that. Now that being said, the reason its not so popular is because it is not a fast paced, rush in and start killing with out rhyme or reason Arcade Game! Simple as that! A large majority of online gamers are young immature thrill seekers or casual players that are bored easily. ARMA is for those of us who want to get some idea of what real military actions are like, or simply want to challenge them selves against a simulation that is some thing like real military OPs and that last more than 5 min.. We can nit pick the games engine, graphics, features, performance, untill we are blue in the face. The bottom line is ARMA2 is a great consumer Simulator. and this is coming from a noob who only got the game yesterday! Case Closed!!!

Greetings All, Another noob rears his ugly head! That being said, this ARMA2 Noob is serious about Simulated Combat Games. I have been playing FPS for years, currently am a member of a Tactical Realism (Squad) in which I play primarily COD4 and have for a year now. I began with Ghost Recon (the Orig.) because I wanted to play a simulated military FPS, not a free for all run and gun kill every thing that moves arcade game, To my great disappointment finding those games and then servers to play that style online was a nightmare till I found the clan (oops I mean Squad) I am in now. But alas matches and scrims are to few and far between for my liking, and playing on our Public servers isn't filling my addiction. Do not get me wrong I think my brothers and sisters in my SQUAD :j: are the best and even some of the regular Pubbers are great people too, but public servers are often full of That kind of player I would rather not have to deal with, If ya know what I mean! So resently I got a rig that can run games very well. CODMW CODWAW and grabbed OPFDR. Great games, but lacking in so many things I wanted, You all most likely know what I mean. after talking to a few of my clan members I broke down and got ARMA2 I fracking love this game, I finaly found a FPS that is a simulation of military OP's. I am a Noob supreme fer sure but once I figure out the command keys (that are so poorly explained in the tiny eye candy manual) I may just get good enough to play online with you guys, AI is ok to learn with but Real People make things even more unpredictable, not to mention the social interaction. Dang this sounds like an application! Any ways just wanted to introduce my self and let ya know what kind of player I am I hope to be able to glean as much info and advice from you Ole Timers as I can.
