Uploaded the DL link for the CWC classics missions. It should work now. I made them with an older version of PRACS, but they should work fine. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?119666-Project-RACS-Cold-War-Crisis-Classics

US Military Mod (80s, 90s)
crimsontide replied to Delta Hawk's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
these are awesome, some of the best looking units I've ever seen. Thanks for all the work and I can only hope for a replacement config to come out some time soon. Few questions about the hidden selections though. I remember seeing in the old thread guys with USAF TSgt. stripes as well as guys with Army SF shoulder patches. Were those textures included? Right now I'm just seeing army and usmc/usn ranks and the 101st and 2nd cav patches. Also, is there a way to switch the vests with hidden textures? For instance, a woodland pasgt vest on desert guys or vice versa? I thought I saw some units in the old thread with RBA armor as well. Was that included? Sorry for all the questions and thanks for making these. I'm having a lot of fun playing around with the hidden selections and seeing what I can come up with. -
PCDF - Special Forces [Small DLC]
crimsontide replied to Sakai's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I honestly could care less what pattern, just something in desert shades to be used in Takistan. I just figured the 6 color desert because that was what was in the original pcdf pack, but a modified version of the original cdf pattern actually sounds pretty cool. Maybe do the vest/helmet/hat, etc, in coyote brown or OD on the desert units instead of black so it blends a little better too. What would also be cool is the CZ SF Landrover reskinned for the cdf. If that goes beyond the scope of what you're trying to do I hear you, but as it stands there is no real SF vehicles in the PCDF pack for them to use. -
PCDF - Special Forces [Small DLC]
crimsontide replied to Sakai's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Any chance you'd do these in the 6 color chocolate chip desert camo in the pcdf pack so there'd be desert special forces to go with the desert guys? These look great by the way, nice job. -
Minor bug report. Not sure if this has been caught already, but in the currently released version, the M113 with the M60 only has a 3 man cargo capacity as compared to the 11 that all the other M113's hold. Just figured i'd point it out in case noone else has. Otherwise, can't wait for the next release!

Arma 2 Addon request thread
crimsontide replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
The only thing I can think of is ACE mod which does a lot of stuff, that included. what I can't remember was whether it was ACE that did it or robaldo's custom ace configs with the RH M16/M4 pack since I use both. This adds much more detailed M16/M4 models with the latest PEQ boxes and vertical foregrips as well. It sounds like you are after realism so the ace/robaldo/RH weapons combination I use might be exactly what you are after. Robaldo's configs: http://forums.bistudio.com/archive/index.php/t-120120.html RH M16/M4's: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=108141 ACE2: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=12155 ACE2 extras:http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=12158 -
yeah, that was the other thing I did. I used the goos uksf guys and lennards L119 pack since they are supposed to be pathfinders. made it pretty badass looking. What I mean with the compass is when you press k and have it out to get an azimuth on the target you can't see the numbers on the compass. I ended up pulling the actual compass out of my field gear to compare with and guess the degrees. didn't work well but I eventually adjusted fire onto target. ---------- Post added at 09:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:38 PM ---------- Where? I just see a compass and even clicking on the compass it still isn't zoomed enough to see numbers.

This is one of, if not the best campaigns I've played for Arma. There are a few little issues that I've had, namely the laser guided bombs not working and being unable to see the numbers on the compass (is there a way to zoom in on the compass when you press k to bring it up?), but overall, this is awesome. I depbo'd it and changed it to use a few mods and it's just getting better and better. This little guy has been fun to play with in it http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?132986-British-Ridgback-Protected-Patrol-Vehicle bit of a more up to date alternative to the jackal. Do you have any other missions or campaigns you've made?

I think we're both right. I did a little reading after seeing your reply. It looks like a a lot of M16A3's in Navy service are frankenguns they made with A2 uppers and A1 lowers. Some were fully produced as M16A3's by FN and were initally made with an A2 upper but mid production run they switched to a flat top upper. The vast majority in service are fixed carry handle. That being the case, rock on slatts, sorry for the misinformation, these look good.
-
I guessing this was a config change only to function like an M16A3, but if you didn't know, the A3 has a removable carry handle like on the A4, but the round handguards of the A2.

Both Vilas's pack and the Cold War Rearmed 2 weapons pack have all of those weapons in them I think. Vilas's definitely does. -

I've seen a bunch of picctures of especially Marines and Army Reserve/National Guard soldiers during the Gulf War that didn't have the choco chip covers. I'd personally like to see both if you've already got the woodland vests made. http://www.blogs.va.gov/VAntage/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/cosva.jpg (104 kB) -
How about some updated UNO units and vehicles. give them some of PCDF's firepower. They aren't really a full fledged faction at the moment.

If you need testers, I'm definitely willing. I helped test some of the PRACS stuff before it came out. Not much on the technical or MP side, but I'm good at general bug spotting. -

Aww, come on!! These are too sexy to die! I've already got campaigns planned around these! Hell, I'll take em as is, they still look better then 99% of what is released these days. -

yeah, seriously... If you can tell the difference between summer and winter weight bdu fabric in game on these then they have to be the most detailed textures I've seen on units in Arma so far. Awesome stuff. -

The mountain tab is also a "unit" tab, just like airborne can be and is worn above the unit patch on either shoulder. The only unit's this apply to are the 10th mountain and the 86th IBCT (Mountain) of the VT Army NG though. -
I like mods so I personally would probably do the full version, but that's just me.

Does anyone know of any SP missions or campaigns set in takistan/a desert map that are like razor 2 or manhattan in the original arma 2 campaign where you have to go around and accomplish different objectives in an open world rather then a linear fight like most missions?

This pack contains Dutch Apache's. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=9614 These are the only Canadians but they are pretty decent. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=11982

I've tried both. First, I opened the door and walked up the steps and it forced me to crouch but there was no get in option at the top of the steps and it wouldn't allow me any further into the vehicle. I then tried closing the door with me at the top of the steps, which killed me the first time, but after that forced me into the interior of the vehicle, however there still was no get in option even up by the drivers seat. -

Is there any particular reason why I am having trouble getting in to any of the bushmaster's? I opened the back door and walked up the steps like it said in the readme but I'm not getting any get in command in the menu, just close door and gear. I am using ACE if that helps.
