if anybody has tried seeing if securom installs during installation or during the first running of the exe please let me know the results. thanks guys.

I hear with 1.05 that DRM is removed. What exactly does this mean? If I get a boxed copy and install with the CD's which will install SecuROM and then patch the game to 1.05, will SecuROM be completely removed or will I still have registry entries that cause problems and the like? Thanks for any guidance on this matter. I'd really like to get ARMA2 going on my computer asap as long as I know the DRM won't mess up my experience. (I know Steam doesn't have SecuROM but I can purchase a boxed version for cheaper)

So that means once patch 1.05 is installed that you can do a SecuROM removal and your game won't be affected and the registry entries won't be put back? If this is true, awesome news indeed.

Damnit well that sucks. The "DRM free for users of legitimate installs" is a bit misleading then. Thanks for the info.
