Hey guys i notice that ArmA2 and OA look much better in SP than in MP. Is there a way to change this? I loaded a MP game and checked my settings, and they are the same as SP. I also see a ton of warping which makes it next to impossible to kill anyone.

Hey guys i was playing through the training missions in OA (well done!) and only really had trouble with the tank. I believe i was the commander and tried looking around, but could not figure out how to rotate the turret so i could operate the machine gun. It just seemed confusing. What is the proper way to get the turret pointing the direction you want it? In other words, i was unable to look around completely, because the turret was in a position that obstructed the commander's view. Is there an easy way to rotate the turret from the commander's seat?

How do we change this? Things look a lot better in SP on my system.

Hey guys, I am trying to setup a dedicated server so I can play some co-op missions with a few friends. I have read through the many threads about setting it up, but still not sure how to get this working. Here is what I have done. First, I have Operation Arrowhead. 1. I installed Steam on the dedicated server (which is located out of state). 2. I went to View|Tools and installed the A2OA dedicated server. It created a desktop icon. I click it, it pops up a little steam window, then goes away. So what do I need to do next? Do I need to download some other files, or cfg files? Sorry for the questions. Before I mess this up I want to make sure I am on the right track. Thanks guys! Rob

Hey guys i have had A2 for a year or so but got into iRacing and it took me a while to get back to this. I just went out and took advantage of the Steam sale, so i now have OA, BAF and A2. I want to get a buddy into it too, so we can co-op together. Question about A2 regarding this. The way i see it there are multiple things we would like to do with A2. 1. Play co-op Campaigns Can this be done on a dedicated server? I have one ready but read some posts about it and wasn't promising. 2. Play co-op missions Can this be done on a dedicated server? 3. Force on force Can we host player vs player on dedicated servers? Thanks guys! Rob

I found that the best performance improvements i saw were when i overclocked my i7 875k from 2.9 to 4ghz. That along with my ati 5850 running 1920x1080 is silky smooth. I have 8gb ram and run win 7 x64. But would my system even benefit from a faster gpu, and if so how much higher would i have to go? Would a second 5850 provide any benefit? I already have almost everything on very high.

I have the disc for ArmA 2 but the steam version of OA. From what I have read this can be a bit more involved with betas. Am I wrong about this?

I am unable to test these beta patches since I got my rig working good and don't want to screw it up. But I wanted to say thanks to those that are helping the devs make these patches. Much appreciated!

Hey guys i just took advantage of the Steam sale and got the anniversary edition. I guess now is a bit late to ask, but how good is the latest patch and what is the current state? Is the general consensus that all the major issues have been resolved? I last tried A2 at patch 1.01. I updated it to 1.10. How much progress did the boys make from 1.01 to 1.10? Thanks guys.

I really didn't like the training in A2 but in OA it is excellent. Thanks for the advice. I am up to helicopter training and really enjoyed it so far. In A2 i was getting killed from the beginning and never really got far with it. This is much better. Thanks for the advice.

Hey guys looking for good co-op missions for me and a mate. We are new, so figuring we will go through training first. After that what do you guys recommend.

I installed A2 from disc, but OA and BAF are from steam. It seems to all work, but will i face any challenges applying the 1.60 beta patch? Also how does this work with A2 and the 1.10 version i have? Does this mean MP enhancements only exist with the OA version?

Hey thanks for the quick reply. Okay we will wait for 1.60. Regarding campaigns, are they any good or would we be better off with missions anyways? Maybe my thought about the campaign being where it is at is wrong.

I tried the demo and honestly wasn't too impressed with ARMA 2. So the wife gives me a gift card to BestBuy and I decided to spend it on ARMA 2. I have to say, I am really impressed so far. Nice work guys.

Hey guys I am just discovering this sim. Looks awesome. I downloaded the demo for ArmA 2, but it just isn't very fluid with my current gaming PC (Athlon FX-57, Single Core, 9800 GTX+, 4 GB RAM, XP). So question for you. Would it make sense to just buy ArmA at this point? I am assuming I can run it with all the bells and whistles turned on, so would it be that much worse than ArmA 2 with the settings lower? I also figure ArmA is mature, so the remaining bugs should be minimal. What do you think? Is ArmA a good place to start, or should I just go for ArmA 2 and turn the settings down. Thanks! Rob

Also I am running the sim at 1280 x 1024. Does that make a difference in performance vs. your higher resolution?
