Sorry if this has already been reported. There are a lot of posts here. It seems that many of the helmets have broken textures, ANA and RHS Russian Flora work fine, but the RHS EMR helmets as well as Leights CDF no longer apply the texture correctley, they either show up as a RUssian Flora, or they show up with misaligned black textures It seems to mostly be the 6B27Ms, but some of the 6B28s are affected as well.

US Army & USMC Infantry Textures
Kastrenzo replied to sabre's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Can you please update this and the USMC mod so that the vests and helmets have armor values like vanilla? in arsenal they report having an armor value of 0. -

yeah I'm also getting the no weapon sound bug. it only seems to be on the QBZ weapons, the Belt fed machine gun worked fine. -
NVIDIA video card(s) owners read here!
Kastrenzo replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hah, I was getting a weird flashing effect when firing weapons in first person, I didn't even think to realize that when I turned global AO on my GTX680 the other day that it would cause that. I had mostly been playing Planetside 2 and only noticed the weird flash now. either way that fixed it, thanks -
Just found out about this now, Hilarious. and Sad too.

Yes there was at least half a dozen mods from that game deleted. Many "fanboys" were screaming that moderation was being paid off by people opposing him, or simply that moderation was picking on him, but these people who were whining so much were oblivious to the fact that many other mods were removed Most if not all of the mods that were using content he originally leaked have been deleted now, most of the owners were not banned with the exception of vora_bat since he was a repeat offender. Mostly it's calmed down now and no one talks about it, I myself have a few people screaming at me because vora made a coutner video to mine, I admit that my video's evidence was mediocre at best compared to what the BIS Community came forward with, a few people are still crying out for him to get unbanned, and when others give them solid facts like he stole stuff from Bohemia for example, they just pretend they didn't hear it. This person was very lucky considering how many chances he was given. Too many if you ask me. I was reading earlier comments, people are right, as long as they have their own domain it doesnt eliminate the problem completley, but it severley cuts off their access to respectiable hubs like moddb. where they are quite clear with their rules and regs.
-
This is probably forgotten about now, but two or three days ago Vora_bat was permabanned from the Moddb website, on charges of IP Theft and Copyright Fraud from multiple sources, along with the laughable infraction of having more than one account which is against their rules. He was using alternate accounts, posing as different people, trying to defend and stick up for himself. he finally got caught when someone traced the IP. anyway I think we can consider this case closed. I hadn't even been paying attention to that Men of war game in weeks, I've been on ArmA again.

That would'nt be a bad thing but I wouldn't be too afraid of a couple of "butthurt" Russian and Ukrainian guys from a video game forum. There's hackers everywhere, the only reason Eastern Europe is well known for it is because their law enforcement doesn't do much to stop it, Or theres not enough people trying to crack down on it. As far as Hackers, I'd be more worried about the ones working for the PLA, Always trying to bring down and comprimise giants like Google.
-
If/When he gets banned from Moddb, that's where he'll go. but the point has always been that it would at least clean up the Moddb Men of War community substancially. This guy is still hosting the Price of Terrorism Mod that got kicked off Moddb, on that Ukrainian domain. and he updates it with more Call of duty content and god knows what else, frequentley

I've grown very tired of talking to him, his avatar on the Moddb page says enough to begin with about what it's like to deal with him. He tries changing the topic more times than you can shake a stick at, Accused the mod that I do the Audio for, of stealing models from the Battlefield 2 mod Project Reality, when it was infact just a bunch of leftover material from a British mod or something that our Modeller was working on a year ago, then left the team. Furthermore he takes everyone who opposes him for a fool, I Understand modelling, although I'm not proficient with 3DS or Blender, But I've modelled in other programs less known by mainstream. he tries to imply that I and everyone else don't know what we're talking about, so he can rely on that. Also, Dmark, he has a history yes, some evidence brought forth in the past and present has been disputed. But things like this here really aren't defendable at all. ArmA 2 Russian UAZ http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/12/11142/100111-2243-00.jpg And when confronted on it he replied "Oh, so that's where that model came from" He is either sarcastic and Carefree, or Irresponsible. and in the case of the latter, Ignorance is not an excuse. ---------- Post added at 11:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:13 AM ---------- I agree, but the problem is that the Community for that game is split apart into several places, Namley moddb, The developer websites like Digitalmindsoft, and Best Way. And lastly the "Russian backdoor community" The game was originally developed by a Ukrainian firm, so the Eastern Europeans got into it a lot sooner than the Westerners did, there are dozens of websites floating around with Hoardes of Russian Men of War mods filled with stolen content, I think there was one called "Afghanistan Mod" that had a bunch of Arma 1 or 2 models in it, I never downloaded it because I don't trust shady domains like that, and there wasn't much media on it that I could find on western sources. The community on Moddb is divided aswell, there's those who are trying to hunt down the IP Theives, and those who are ignoring the property theft and Standing up for Vora_bat because he's popular *Because of Price of Terrorism, the mod that was banned from Moddb for utilizing stolen MW2 and Arma2 content* And there is still a large portion of the community members that are well known, that aren't even taking part in this. I can't say I blame them considering the drama.

He and a lot of others in that Men of War community like to Steal things and say they made them or they just import models from games/mods and "credit" the authors, When crediting is only half of the pie. Some of them have never heard of the word Consent or Permission before And another thing, It's baffling really, I stumbled upon another mod of the same game that was using a stolen Assault Rifle from Fallout 3, Named "G3" I showed them where it was from, told them that Bethesda doesn't allow their content to be used like this, and they had to remove it, The response I got was "No, this is from Vora_bat's Stalker mod and he gave me permission to use it" He gave you permission to use something he stole, how typical. Later the guy eventually accepted it was from Fallout and took it down. Men of War is a very innovative game, but it must sound to you guys like something bordering an Online MMO with the amount of drama that comes from it's community. The reason why there is so much content theft associated with the game is because it is a very basic and modular design, much like GSC's STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl, the game accepts very basic Coding, Texturing, Modelling, etc. The coding is done in wordpad and the models can be just basic polygons, so it's very easy to import stuff into it, same reason why Stalker content has popped up in dozens of games, because their content was basic and easy to modify/convert format *Also, as an FYI, I wasn't someone from Men of war who joined BIS just for this discussion, I've been apart of the ArmA community longer than Men of war, in contrast there were a lot of people from this forum who went over to Moddb to assist in the claims of Content theft, it was very appreciated by those who are seeking to root out the Intellectual Property theft"

I investigated that same thing earlier,It was actually the first thing I looked at before Johnny's models. I checked both the Arma 1 and Arma 2 UKF Packs, a friend told me he saw some distinctive similarities from the Arma 2 version, I haven't really looked at it that much though ---------- Post added at 08:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:37 AM ---------- Looking back, one thing that stands out to me is the whole wireframe hummvee thing, Is how the multicoloured one has completley impractical methods of building, Again the programs I modelled on were quite like Blender or 3DS Max, but it looks like someone just tried turning the polycount up, which looks completley overdone for a flat surface. However I'm not even sure which model is which, I'm saying this assuming that the multicoloured one is Vora's, And if it's not, the details are still 95% identical, a tire might have been switched, a Steering wheel changed, whatever, but the details are identical and the red version's wireframe just looks like someone had gone liberal with that "polygon reduction" logically I'd think the red one was Vora's since the RTS game wouldn't be able to support as many polys, considering there are many things on the screen at once, but whatever.

That's his style anyway, he acts like an internet tough guy. He thinks he can get away from everything so he never admits to anything. And he still hosts his mods with all the Modern Warfare 2 content, and probably the old ones with Arma 2 content aswell, on many Russian and Ukrainian domains, since they don't really enforce anything Intellectual content theft. The Hummvee model that was in question had a different wireframe, he relies on that soley as his defense, I don't model, but I know enough about it that changing the wireframe is just a matter of increasing or decreasing polygons, that was done on a few faces on the humvee but it was obviously still the same. Given his long history of stealing, I dont know how anyone can take him seriously, or how anyone with an IQ Over 50 would beileve that he's truly started making his own content. My argument is that he has serious quality control issues. His Infantry models are inconsistent, some weapon models are of much higher or lower standards than others in the same set. And his Land Vehicles are even more detailed than the ones he ripped from MW2,

That's -way- too many powers to be asking of BI, You're just listing a bunch of countries with large armies, that's too much to ask of even a modding community. Personally I think that Arma III will be going back to it's original themes of having some fictional country. Portraying China or Iran is a large risk as those countries generally take huge offense to it, There were riots in Tehran after that Dutch cartoonist did the Mohammed thing. and that was just a comic book. Russia on the other hand doesnt really take offense to it, because if they did there would have been a shitstorm by now, theres been more games then I can care to count that portrayed Russia and the west fighting, ArmA II,The last two Call of duty games, Bad company, I know some people feel the Russia vs America theme has been overdone, But I never get tired of it so long as it's done right. My first thoughts of this "Eastern armies" was immediatley to start thinking of a combined force of Russians and Chinese or something, but the thing you have to consider is, for every nationality they add, they need to do loads of work on each faction's soldiers, vehicles, weapons, not to mention probably voiceovers for each country, you wouldnt want British or German soldiers speaking in a redneck american accent would you. Lastly, my two cents on things are, if people are Bawwing because they thought the enemy side was going to be China, Russia, Iran whatever. and it turns out not to be, get over it, that's what the modding community is for, In the meantime dont be skeptical and just be patient, the game was only announced a little while ago

I apologize if this is in the wrong section. Could someone direct me to a guide. Or explain to me how to edit the spawn menus from the editor. What I'm trying to do is create a premade unit from the editor so I'm not forced to put in the codes for different equipment. For example, what would I have to do to make a Soldier under the OPFOR / Russia Faction to spawn with a G36 instead of an AK-107. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

"Takistani" is actually Afghan Dari, And Dari is a dialect of Persian. Persian is another name for Iranian. If I haven't confused you yet.. It would make perfect sense to make the Iranians speak "Takistani", since it is actually the same language in real life to some extent
-
I dont think anyone got what I was saying at all. I know they speak Czech, I dont care which language they speak. It wouldnt matter if it was Czech, English, or Russian. It is missing 90% of the sounds. For example, if it were in english, the Unit would say Enemy tank at 100 meters But I only actually HEAR ______,Tank,________,meters If I have to make a video.. I will, I've tried my hardest to explain the problem and it seemed to skip right over peoples heads ---------- Post added at 09:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:43 PM ---------- Completley irrelevant, but I can recognize three of those Man down, Get out/eject ???? Fire/attack
-
I've noticed that since Installing OA some time ago, while running combined Ops, the Chernarussian language no longer works, CDF Soldiers still give orders but are completley silent. Russian and English still work, but the Czech voiceovers are absent, along with any other addon faction that used that language. Any idea what happened or how to fix this? I know the Chernarussian Language is Actually Czech, this is irrelevant

this isnt' so much a question thread, but more of an FYI to the devs. I had downloaded a custom KSK Skin earlier today, and I noticed that underneath the headwrap there was a hole in the model, you could see clearly through the body out to the other side. I checked to see if it was on the regular model aswell and it was. Perhaps you should try to fix this in the next update? It's not a huge issue but it's a silly little mistake http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k110/Kastrenzo/ArmA2OA2010-07-1414-07-40-06.jpg 345 kb

This is quite simple, but I don't script so I'm unfamiliar with the syntax of code. How do I change a unit's weapon when placed in the editor. Example being: Say I spawned a Takistani Rifleman, and wanted him to wield an AK-74 instead of a FAL? ---------- Post added at 08:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:51 PM ---------- nevermind, I finally found a video for what I was looking for. Disregard ---------- Post added at 08:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:02 PM ---------- one question though, is there any alternative method to adding multiple magazines opposed to copying multiple lines of the same code? IE, Not having to put ; this addmagazine "30Rnd_545x39_AK" down 6 times for 6 magazines

How many of you old OFP Veterans are still playing BIS games?
Kastrenzo replied to nettrucker's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
I remember playing OFP Resistence demo or something like that, I didnt understand the game so I never ended up getting the full game it sadly, Back then I didnt understand the concept of a Military sim vs an action shooter, so It didnt appeal to me Ended up buying Arma2 because it looked cool.. got Arma1 a few weeks later. -
I own both Arma2 games induvidually on Steam, I just noticed today that they have updated it to allow Combined Ops on steam versions and it's been working fine, anyway... How do you disable the beeping that comes at the end of a radio message? this wasn't in Operation Arrowhead and I was glad for it, but now it's back and it gets extremley annoying during combat if there are AI in your squad. I've looked through the options but I can't seem to find anything. or can this even be toggled? or a possible mod to remove it? I apologize if this is the wrong forum, it's technically not hardware issues, but I couldnt find a better suiting place
-
My girlfriend hates it when I play the game soley because the beeping is annoying.
