!!MISSING STRING ERROR? ACR Install error
purpheart23 posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Does anybody have a fix for the Missing string install error. I've tried everything I can think of to get the content installed to include turning off virus protection and firewalls. Then download works and the unzipping works but the install stops immediately with the !!MISSING STRINGS error. Any suggestions? ---------- Post added at 05:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:19 PM ---------- Can a Moderator please move this to the troubleshooting forum with my apologies. ---------- Post added at 07:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:29 PM ---------- First off apologies for answering my own thread but here's what worked for me in case anybody else has this issue. Go to http://www.battleye.com/download.html and download the client and server 32 bit .dll files. Go to your Arma 2 root folder and find your BattlEye folder and replace the two .dll's in that folder with the downloaded files. Viola, install successful. -
This. Does anybody have a fix for this?

Oh cool, yeah i just downloaded and installed the c++ and everything was status quo. Cheers.

I have the same missing .dll as hank. I've tried downloading and replacing the missing .dll/.dlls and then I'm given a no entry point error as well. Anybody have any idea. edit: even if running a 64 bit operating system you need to download and install the 32 bit c++ found here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=a7b7a05e-6de6-4d3a-a423-37bf0912db84 Should fix you up.

ACE 1.8 (Advanced Combat Enviroment) for OA/CO
purpheart23 replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Go into the Ace settings in game and turn off "allow wind deflection" make sure the clippi is open when you save it so you don't have to keep resetting the setting. See how that works for you. -

I don't think it's fade because it's only active when the Ace mod is active. With vanilla Arma everything is fine. I saw some of the AAW guys had the same issue but I didn't see or I can't read the fix they were given. -

I seem to be having an issue with ACE mod and I was hoping maybe somebody on the team or somebody who has dealt with the issue may be able to help. I installed a new GPU in my rig today and having started Arma II and playing in the editor for a bit I've found that when firing my weapon the rounds go out about a hudred meters or so then go vertical as seen by tracers and hit the ground about 5 meters in front of my avatar. I tested with Vanilla Arma II and the issue does not exist, but the moment I try with ACE mod all my rounds act this way. Is this a known issue or am I the only one having it? These are my specs. Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz (Quad Core) Oc'd to 3.6 GHZ Motherboard: EVGA X58 LE Edition SLI System Memory: 6GB DDR3 1600MHz Video Card(s):1 GTX 580 w GTX 275 handling PhysX Sound Card: Razer Barracuda AC-1 OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) PS: 1000w corsair Edit: May have found the answer in turning off "allow wind deflection" in the ACE settings. Will test some more but seems fine now. -

After searching the thread for a solution I have to ask. How do you keep the initialization message from coming up if you know the mission you have set up is working properly? Thanks in advance and my apologies if I have overlooked the answer. -

This is why we can't have nice things you'll. I"m an avid ACE fan and I"m very interested to see what PR brings to the table. Why is it so hard to understand that these Mods have not, are not, and probably never will be in competition with each other. Try em both out before you say a is better than b. Sheesh, never seen so many people fired up over stuff that A.) They are not paying for and B.) Will expand the community with a dedicated PVP mod. It's no wonder some addon makers are either thinking about or actually taking their Mods underground. *Rant over* Back OT. I'm going cross-eyed with all this back and forth and I may have missed it but when is the next update coming out, just a round about to wet the chops is all I"m asking. :) cheers. -

Absolutely freaking brilliant Ice. I was in midflight around the Island had to pause it and come and tell you what you did. Outstanding work.
