  1. Hi I think every mod team search for teamsupport. Newest Request : http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1549681&postcount=77 But I think its up to you and your intrest (OPFOR, BULFOR, special country?, special era?, science fiction? or mods like ACE?) The best way would be to write to a mod team if you could help there. ;) btw. at the most modteams its also a matter of your experience and knowledge, the quality of your addons.
  2. I see the key coming. Ouch... @clawhammer, you get it. ;)
  3. wow, thats, wow. You get the impression that BIS as mother comanpy of BIA haven't the control over BIA and the things which are going on there. BIA have grown a life of its own ? Disturbing, right Soul_Assassin. The fact is that, BIS Games and simulators lived of the community content and its heads, especially VBS, also if it was sold by the creators. But now it become a dangerous way if the community don't know what is used by them without "permission". If its possible to use ArmA2 Addons in VBS2, how is the licence agreement about the useage of community created addons in VBS2? Is there a basis for ?
  4. @Rock, well said and stuff to think on. Hmmmm, maybe BIS should open their eyes here (hello Maruk ? ;) ) and think about alternatives to support the creators in copyright/using issue. As we know, the community is BIS capital, so you must pay attention to it. Beside that, as you said, the fact that the community moral become more and more less. I know its a problem since the beginning days of OFP, but the last time shows more and more that the community creators didn't get the attention the should get for their invested time and especially the respect of their work. What can we or shall we do ? Its shame but as under the given points by Rock, its an understandable step to decide not to work further for us, the community (BIS).
  5. It seems that no one worked anymore on this project. Shame because now we have excellent PLA and American addons. We just need the base to demonstrate CM and the rest of the paid journalism/press world, what OFP: Dragon Rising really can be or could be, don't know. Would be a nice side blow against CM.
  6. I hope maybe we will get a nice new year present from BIS.:) @last Press Coverage. I think the screens reminds me too much to ArmA2, especially the engine. Its clear that BIS havn't the resources to make a completlly new grafic engine but on the expectation on a new game I also expect a new game experience, athmosphere and so on, especially it's about a fictional theme. But Yes its still in developement and we didn't see real ingame footage to this day so i'm looking forward to new details.

    Operation Arrowhead Suggestion

Hi, ive a suggestion and i think it fits more in suggestion topic for OA as for Patch 1.06 because its maybe to more work to implementate. My Idea or suggestion is about the problem, when a user starts the game with several mods, as we know in the last time there are released several mods and addons and can'nt connect to a server because of these and that addon. So normally you exit the game and restart, it takes time and nerves, which often leads in a stagnation in game happiness. So my idea is, to start the game from the beginning with all mods which are installed (a script or so regonized the installed @.... files ) and if the player wants to connect on a server where a specific addon (which is started) istn't running, but I've installed it, the game automaticlly disabled the addon and I can connect to the server. The other idea would be the game start without any mods/addons/scripts and if I want connect on a server where a specific Addon is requiered and i've installed the Addon, the Game enabled the Addon automaticlly and disabled it after the disconnect. It may requiered a tool, like a game intern modlauncher or so (I know its often discussed) but maybe there are other ways to make such system. Yes sofar, maybe BIS have look on suggestions about OA, Patches and Communityideas and it will find the way in OA. :)
  8. @JW Custom Yes you do ofcause many others too, but many other communitymembers don't get along with it. It isn't a phantom which is come up with me. Just take look on the entries of the topics on all community forums and pages. So should the half of the community play the addons which are offered by the community and the others not? @sickboy. As I wrote, I don't want to offense your work. You did a great job on ACe and other community projects. But I just wnat to exress that I hope you regonize the critics. ;)
  9. @sickboy I think it isn't the solutioin to scotch the critics or issues which come with the tool. I think the discussion about the six-updater is to overdue . As you may recognize on the release the most complains come with the updater and the complicated progress to update the files. Beside the fact, that's the easiest way for the developers to share their new progress with eachother, it isn't understandable and often said to complicated for the normal users. So for now we have the tool and I think the unprepared release, which is focused to use by all the Communitymembers. But at the same time more and more developers use your tool, so sooner or later we all are focused to use your tool and no, there isn't a take it or leave it. If I want to be a part of the community I must have access to the community made missions, skripts, addons and mods. And if the access goes about your updater a smooth update, download progres should be guaranteed. So the fact that more and more developers uses your tool you should maybe thinking about to focus on the points given by kju. Good example may Yoma's update tool which has a really easy interface which is understandble for the normal users. I don't want to offense the work, the free work of you and your members, but as I wrote at the beginning all communities (in the internet or in the real world) is living by critics. So i hope you will attend to the critics and take you developer glasses off and watch it like the normal users do. :) @all which think its my loss not to use that tool. I think you make it yourself very easy. I know its a long community tradition to scotch disussions and critics, but is it the part of solution for the community?
