    Dogs of War Question.

    For me shaftoe never turns up (See http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1557566#post1557566) and not matter what i do the rest of the mission appears to be buggered. Now I tried to play the EW mini campaign but that now appears to be broken near the end by invulnerable enemies :( With they would hurry up and fix this game so I can complete both campaigns before next christmas
  2. Right I've restarted this mession since the last patch fixed the script error (http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=91437) so I can now actually proceed with this mission. For your information I'm playing on the NAPA side and have restarted this mission about 10+ times since I first started it before xmas (I also ran over Prizrak to get the CDF and NAPA to form an alliance) I have captured and delivered Lopotev to the Russians and have killed the spetz nez that ambush you. I then got some conversation that ended with being given an instruction to go back to HQ. I went back to NAPA HQ and nothing happened, I went to Chernogorsk to see if there was a MEU base setup yet that I could extract from. Nothing. How do I finish the mission I really don't want to start this mission again as I have wasted enough time on it already. Is there any way to force the mission to end (Will I miss anything) and to play the ending scenes so I can at least complete the story? I have also noticed the following errors with patch 1.05 that have really started to get on my nerves for this mission: 1. No option to repair/rearm or refuel. No options to buy any repair/rearm or refuel trucks either (The buildings are in the base) 2. The 'capture' bar above a 'base' only appears until you reload a save game, then it never appears again 3. Transferring the prisoner from Mogilevka to NAPA base never finishes 4. Mission to investigate Skalisty Island does complete but does not get marked in the journal as such 5. No option to buy air units even if building is in your base 6. No option to build anything but 'defences' 7. Marines never arrive in Chernogorsk even though you get 2 messages to say they and their replacements have been sent Why is the last mission in the game impossible to finish? How did anyone ever complete this game? and the dreaded question, how soon will a patch be out that fixes all this and makes the game playable for once? Thanks
  3. Thanks, that would explain the problems with the aircraft. Pity the rest of the mission is so broken.
  4. This script error in the Dogs of war mission stops the game from progresssing for anyone that is unfortionate enough to run into this bug. So far the latest beta patch does NOT solve this issue. See: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=91437 and http://dev-heaven.net/issues/show/5358 for more details of this game breaking bug. Hopefully this will be fixed before 1.05 is released so all of us affected by this bug can continue with the game. P.S. My hope in posting this in the beta forum as well as the troubleshooting formus is that the devs will understand this is an ongoing bug in all versions of the game.

Hi I have spent several hours playing this campaign mission and now I am getting a game breaking script error :( A few minutes after loading my last save game I get a speech over the radio between cooper and usmc command. Basically the usmc are landing in chadakist (or what ever that big port city on the south of the map is called) and they want me go look at the source of a radio signal on the island. Cooper says he knows about the island but has not had chance to check it out yet. Less than 30 seconds after that transmission I get the following in game popup error message: Script kb\usmc_welcome_lostcommand_radio.bikb not found When I click OK on that message the game is still playable until I attempt to save it and it is then permanently stuck in the 'saving' screen. This error happens every time I load this save game. The particular mission I am on is I start out in the NAPA base and am not yet allied to the CDF. Upon running over (shooting him from a distance does not work, running him over in front of everyone does though) the warlord in the napa base both sides are then allied. Does anyone know how to fix this error because I can now not progress with the game and was really liking the story? I want to avoid restarting the mission as its taken me hours to liberate 3/4 of the island. Thanks P.S.1 How come the save games get so big? Mine are now over 100MB and take a fair few minutes to load? P.S.2 I also suffer from the bug where I start this mission with no night vision goggles. P.S.3 I am running version 1.04 of the game.

    Update: BI in thread http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1515421#post1515421 have now confirmed that this problem will be resolved in the next update (1.05)
  7. Would just like to add my thanks that this is going to be solved in the next update and I can carry on with my capaign.

Personally I'm a single player (story driven) person myself and have no interest in the multiplayer side of things (which is why my gaming pc is not connect to the internet (and incidentally one of the reasons I don't buy games that require internet activation but that's another topic)) and like you say unfortunately the campaign is full of bugs. Thanks for the dev-heaven heads up, investigating now.

    No, just install ARMA2_Build_61062.zip Make sure you back up any save games you have prior to installing the beta though (the beta comes with its own uninstaller so if you decide to remove it you wont have trashed your current 1.04 installation.) All of the patches listed fixs things above v1.04

    In one way I'm glad there are more of us that are suffering from this problem. (Not that I would wish a dead game on anyone) Hopefully that will encourage the devs to fix the problem script and not ignore the bug reports. ---------- Post added at 08:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:12 AM ---------- If necessary I can provide save games that demonstrate this error.

    Its still there in the latest beta as well. For me this usually happens when loading a save game and can be on my personal weapon or vehicle I am in.

    No mention of a fix in the 61062 change log. I sure hope they fix this in time for 1.05 as I'm stuck with a £30 paper weight at the moment. :(

    Well I tried restarting the mission with the latest beta patch and it was even worse this time around 1. I get constant 'patrol area xxxxx' missions. These missions always say to patrol a section of cdf territory that i get shot at when entering and is deep in their lands. (No alliance between napa and cdf yet)) After a few minutes this fails and the mission then re-spawn with the same patrol target again and again. In 1.04 this mission never appeared even once. 2. Transporting the prisoner from the captured town beginning with 'M' to the south east of the napa base results in the warlord in the napa base ignoring you and the mission never completing 3. Shooting the warlord in the napa base in the head in frustration results in nobody in the napa base noticing it even though its broad day light 4. Shooting the prisoner in the head fails the mission 5. I am sure in patch 1.04 I had to talk to Tuck (commander in napa base) soon after the mission started. In the latest beta I did not 6. The 'purchase units/weapons' screen is v. slow to respond and the pictures are now so small its hard to see what weapon it is that you are buying 7. When I personally captured a town (Was in the main town base bit with the counter bar thing going down) it was marked as failed 8.Although I got night vision goggles this time and was able to use them they did not show in my inventory 9. The light levels from the perspective of a gunner inside a tank (Pressing 0 on the numeric key pad switches between views) and outside are very different. Inside it was too dark and outside it was nice and bright Needless to say after playing this mess for 15 minutes I quit. Do I need to report this anywhere else or will BI eventually pick up on this? Thanks

    Nothing in the change log says this particular bug is fixed, mind you I would have thought there would have been 2 really easy solutions to this problem: 1. Include the missing script or 2. If the script exists but is named wrong, name it right Are the triggers time based or action based? E.g. Will the kill the warlord pop up after a certain time or after a certain action? If I could rush through the level to the point I am at to test the new patch I may be tempted to... Thanks

    I also tried the latest beta patch but was unable to load my current save game, never mind playing it. I could restart the mission but would rather not as I have spent hours on this mission so far. I have also found one other person with this issue from months ago: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=77131&highlight=dogs+war+script Looks like the problem then was ignored, heres hoping it will actually be fixed this time around.
