Ok, think I've decided on a build: AMD Phenom QuadCore 955, 3,2GHz 65nm AM3, 8MB 4GB DUAL DDR3 1333MHz MSI GeForce N460GTX Cyclone 1GD5 OC Win7 Home Premium 64-Bit I would like to get the AMD Phenom X4 965 but it isn't available anywhere. Think I'll get good results with this machine?

Hi guys and thanks for all the advice in the past. With the risk of sounding like an idiot, I do have a pretty big question now: My PC just went FUBAR so I'm looking into getting a new system. In regards to horsepower, I'm looking at something that will run Arma 2 and OA well, as I mainly use the PC for Arma and Open Office. I'm thinking about getting an ATI 5770, but I'm not sure what I should be looking at in the CPU department. Do I want to get a quad core or a dual core? Will the i3 give me good results or should I get the i5? Remember, I'm pretty much going to build this around running Arma 1/2 and OA in medium to good quality for as little $ as possible. Ok, so I should be able to run the game on say, medium settings with at least 1000 meter viewdistance? Provided I upgrade the vid card that is ;)

My current specs are: Intel Core Duo E6550 2.33 ghz 4 gigs of RAM Geforce 8600 GTS 256mb I know I have to upgrade my video card but with the current economy and all that jazz I was hoping to make do with the CPU. What do you guys think?
