Try checking NVIDIA's contol panel. If you have an integrated GPU this game defaults to that. Not sure exactly what you are seeing in-game but for me I had a relatively high FPS but a very sluggish game, mouse movement, key input etc.. I set it to use the NVIDIA card now it's silky smooth. If this is the case, once in NVIDIA's control panel, go to Program Settings, select the Project Argo exe and then just change the GPU. (apologies if you know how to do that, just figured I'd explain to save time if you didn't).

A mate of mine spotted this today. Thought it was definitely worth sharing here (couldn't find it already posted..). This time Estonia's Twitter channel are the folk who have made the mistake. https://twitter.com/estNATO/status/642944526672396288 One of these things are not like the other ones.... The worst part is, Germany isn't even sending in modern units!? http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=7956 For shame Germany! :P

I am not sure if this information can be of use to anyone here but as it's not yet been mentioned I thought it's worth posting. I don't really want to join in this crusade myself - Not that I don't believe in the cause, but I have too little down time as it is and this seems like a very time consuming and blood pressure increasing battle with people who don't care and think they are above the law. Anyway, on to the point... I must begin by saying I'm not sure if this is the same group/server etc.. I have nowhere near enough knowledge on the matter but from the amount of visible content it sure seems like what people have discussed here. If not, simply ignore the rambling man in the corner and continue your discussions. From about 9:25 in the music being played in the club is the same music played in Payday 2's nightclub mission. I did a quick look myself and the song wasn't released in their official soundtrack but it was made specifically for the heist. From what I could see nobody could provide a name/artist. I have no idea where they stand from a legal stand point but as the developers are very involved in their community they are probably quite easy to approach. Random vid for the nightclub mission. Music can be heard pretty much instantly. It just loops (and is very irritating after playing numerous times..) Hope this of use, if not, I apologise. Keep up the good work guys, hopefully these guys can be brought to justice or at the very least have all the content they did not create removed and then we can watch the mass exodus of their player base, who in turn demand refunds!

Community Upgrade Project: WIP thread
Villain. replied to aliascartoons's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Wow very nice to see a project like this! What other company would allow this too!? Simply awesome in so many ways. Any thought on having Zeus funtioning with this in the future? I'm not sure if it is already possible with AiA SA, haven't tested that out yet - but it'd be nice if it could be by default with this. Keep up the good work guys, looking forward to the upcoming release. -
Hey! First of all - Great mod, adds a lot more to the Zeus mode for those of us unable to script or wanting to do things faster! I do have one question or request for the Garrison feature. Is it possible to have the units spawn without being in a group? Currently some, not all, units are scattered into different houses but are also linked together so they will then leave the building and it sort of ruins the whole Garrison effect. Would it be possible to have them all individual? As it's only used for the AI we don't really need them in groups and it is easy enough to put them together if desired. Obviously one could say it is easy to remove the group once they are spawned but by the time you get around to doing it for all the units most have moved too far and are no longer in buildings. The other thing is they all tend to abandon the building once fired upon - When I try to place units individually into buildings they tend to more or less stay put, maybe turn around to face the enemy or take a step or two to get a shot off, but they don't move out to engage. Any way to enable this as an option when placing the Garrison module? Thanks again for the great mod!

Hey, first of all I thought there used to be an all encompassing "will my computer run this" or "what specs do I need" thread - Where did that go?..I may just not be looking in the right area, if so, sorry! I would have used that had I been able to find it, so I apologise for (probably) posting this in the wrong section. However it shall be a very short thread I suspect.. I am getting a laptop to get back into gaming, and I have a question regarding the CPU - They have on offer an i7 4700MQ 2.4ghz (boosted to 3.4) and for not a huge increase, 4800MQ, 2.7ghz (to 3.7) and while it's not overly expensive, I won't bother getting it unless it will greatly improve my A2 experience. I have no interest in one day being able to run A3 (Sorry BI :( ) so A2/OA is my only concern. Anyone able to shed some light? Is that .3ghz going to do much? Just to help - It also has 16gb ram, GTX 770m (3gb) and an SSD for the primary drive. Thanks in advance and looking forward to getting back into A2!!! :D Nok

Done! Many thanks mate. I guess this is why you are a Professor!

Take on water, like a ship that's sinking... On a more serious note - Any hope of there one day being a decent tank sim released? Graviteam are no longer throwing their hat into the ring, and without them there's a huge shortage of tank sims...

DCS World - Free SU-25T Frogfoot simulator from Eagle Dynamics
Villain. replied to gabe_ruckus's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Hang on, do you mean to say you actually got flight time?! I was met with CTD everytime I tried to start a game. Instant action - Nope, CTD. (for all 3 options) Campaign - Nope, CTD. Ahh, I'll try to generate my own mission...Nope, CTD. Speaking of options - Anyone else notice the "high" missing from the textures and scenes options, and no option for HDR? :j: Is this their version of BAF/PMC lite perhaps? Extremely disappointed with this game, and company. After hearing such good things about DCS I was excited to see this free to play option, and while it may be the case that it's just this version which is corrupted (or just my bad luck) what other people describe about their business model has put me off ever giving them any of my money. -
ARMA: CO can refer to ARMA: Combat Operations too y'know... As for the issue, lke ArmAriffic says - You should give more details as to what specs you are trying to run this on. It makes it easier to help when people know if it's the game or your PC which has caused the issue to arise. Have you tried other demos? I was recently playing the ARMA:CO demo myself, version 1.06 and it worked fine..More than I can say about the full version :p But that matter is (hopefully) being resolved now. http://www.armedassault.com/dwnl_demo.html - I got my demo from the first link, if that helps, could you try downloading it again? Maybe the download or install was corrupt.

ArmA's video config is horribly messed up and I cant change it
Villain. replied to c_programmer's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yes there does appear to be a lot of confusion surrounding this latest patch. Some claiming everything is fixed now, others saying it's broken now. I am currently in the process of discussing the issue with a member of Sprocket. I intend to open a new thread to hopefully gain some more attention from the devs here on the forums. However I will wait for more information/facts so I can make it a detailed thread, hopefully with some solutions others can use. -
ArmA's video config is horribly messed up and I cant change it
Villain. replied to c_programmer's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
@Snafu - I bought ARMA Gold from Sprocket. It downloads as 1.18, I can't try any earlier patches, nor any beta patches. More news, adding even more confusion to the matter. Perhaps a mod/admin can shed some light on what is happening? I downloaded the ARMA Gold demo to see if it was a hardware issue (from here http://www.ausgamers.com/files/details/html/28003 ) and installed it - It runs fine.... The version appears to be 1.06.5149 - Released in/around 2007. It also had ATARI flash up amongst the loading screens if that helps. I maxed out the settings to check if it works, and while the FPS won't go above 20, it still runs well enough to be played (and of course would be fine when I lower the graphics a bit here/there). So I can't see how my graphics can now be causing an issue with the updated, Gold version. Were there some major changes in the engine which could have caused this? Pics to follow There must be a reason why this has happened. Stock ARMA (1.06) works, ARMA Gold (1.18) does not..ARMA 2 (1.59) does work, OA works, BAF/PLC works....What has happened? -
ArmA's video config is horribly messed up and I cant change it
Villain. replied to c_programmer's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
But it's capable of running ARMA 2, and while the FPS aren't super high, and I can't max out settings, it doesn't run badly. I realise the GPU is crap, and am planning on upgrading it. But I assumed an older version of a game which I can run, would run better. Additionally, if two users, with vastly different hardware setups are having the same issue wouldn't that suggest the problem is not a result of the hardware? -

Villain. replied to c_programmer's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I have this issue too, with an entirely different hardware setup. I apologise for jumping into someone else's thread, but I figured the mods would rather all similar posts be in one. ;) I'm running a stock-standard Dell 990 Optiplex: i5-2400 (3.1ghz) 4gb RAM Windows 7, 32-bit Intel HD 2000 (Integrated Graphics) - Drivers updated about 3 weeks ago. The game is installed on the only HDD I have on this PC. Anyway, here are 2 pic to illustrate the issue According to the ARMA.cfg file, it is running at 800x600 - Thinking this might have an effect, I tried to adjust it to my native resolution (1440x900) this did fix the resolution, but it also resulted in a longer load time and still has the same graphic issue as seen in the pic below. Renaming the extension had no effect either. I attempted the window command line, but still no luck. Now, I'm not sure if this helps at all but, here is are some screen shots of A2, which (despite looking bad due to my crap hardware) runs fine. I'm not sure if this helps either but - This PC has problems running Combat Mission titles too - From my research, this was a result of OpenGL not being supported by my GPU. I am unaware if ARMA Gold makes use of OpenGL? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I currently cannot play A2 properly and decided to buy ARMA Gold hoping I could get my "fix" that way. :( -
Best. Community. Ever.

How? Not trying to be a smart arse - Genuinely wondering if there is a "donate" button somewhere that i've missed? I was under the impression that there is none, and that is why many people (myself included) have bought the game(s) more than once purely because there was no other way to support them. True some do it so they can have the digital copy, then buy the DVD version when available, but others just simply want to give as much as possible. So i'd have to agree with Black - Personally i bought both DLCs regardless of what the community had to say about quality or whether it was worth the money, because i know i wanted to support one of the only dev-teams left who support their fans continously.

In contrast to the last two comments, it played out fine for me. :) @VitaminA This could just be another classic Arma bug in which a simple restart may result in different outcomes. I've played missions where it all goes wrong, then hit restart and it works smoothly...Just one of the many wonders of the Armaverse. A very nice mission with an extremely intense firefight. Will definitely keep trying until i complete it, and will report any bugs if they appear but it seems solid so far. Keep up the good work mate.

ARMA 2: Private Military Company 1.00 released
Villain. replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Ahh good point. I've only got through the first mission so far, so i haven't been put in control of anyone yet. You're right though, it would be extremely annoying to have the AI run off and get themselves killed, so for that reason i can excuse the AI being invincible. Hopefully in future missions they are capable of dying. Even better would be if it's like BAF in which units aren't replaced at the start of each mission. Really? Never noticed it in EW - Though in my defense, i was more concerned with my own life at that particular moment. :p -
ARMA 2: Private Military Company 1.00 released
Villain. replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
There is no health re-gen or auto-heal. Whoever started saying that simply hasn't played enough Arma, or was playing on an ultra-recruit mode (if that exists?) What i was seeing was the temporary damage caused by the blast from an explosion (experienced frequently in the first mission). It throws up some blood on the screen and makes your aim slightly worse for a few seconds then is gone. This has been in-game since OA as far as i know. (or earlier?) I was shot a couple times in the first mission and my weapon continued to sway until the end of the mission, also my character kept moaning in pain, so i'm fairly confident there is no auto-heal. However, your friendly AI units do indeed seem to be invincible...I guess people got annoyed at having to restart everytime a friendly died in Harvest Red so they made them invincible? (not confirmed, but i saw a friendly take more than a few shots to the chest and he didn't die). -
ARMA 2: Private Military Company 1.00 released
Villain. replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
As much as i love this community, i really hate seeing how negative people become when a new DLC is released. People quickly forget that we are still getting way more content than the majority of other companies release as DLC. Granted it's usually not without it's issues, but it's worth noting that the base-game of Arma 2 (pre-OA) still has more content than some games have in an entire series. I hate bringing it up, as it's an old comparison, but 3 maps for CoD for $15.. For Arma we get a map, units, weapons, vehicles, campaign, engine improvements....Seriously people, just releax and enjoy the new content. They even deliver all that content, including the campaign, for free. How many other companies do this? Most of them essentially say "buy the DLC or stop playing MP". Keep in mind, nobody forced you to buy the DLC, and personally i pre-ordered it without even considering the content because i want to support BIS in anyway possible and keep the Armaverse fresh and alive. I'm sure i'm not the only one either. I would hate to think a few very loud individuals bitching about anything/everything they can think of might result in BIS one day saying they give up and then not bother to release anymore DLC or expansions in the future. I think we can all agree that wouldn't be a good outcome. To those complaining about the price - As it's already been mentioned, this is the price of one meal....If you seriously can't afford to spend such a tiny amount of $$$ on this DLC, maybe you need to get your priorities in order and instead of playing a video game, get a job. To those complaining about the size of the map - Yes it's small, so what? You are only ever limited by your own imagination, just because YOU can't think of a mission to be made on a small map doesn't mean there aren't people who can, and will, make good use of this. What about those who enjoy smaller infantry based missions, which don't require a 5-15min long journey inbetween action. (I don't mind those missions either, but it's nice to have smaller action-packed missions available too). Also consider the people with computers that barely handle Chernarus with one unit on the map - For them, these smaller maps are ideal. Now that i'm done defending the map - I agree that it is quite small, and i too would love a much larger map for the next DLC - Perhaps BIS should do as Enad suggests and take a few months before releasing the next pack. However i think if they were to work 3-4x as long/hard as they did on this DLC, and provide twice as much content and a larger map, they would be entitled to raise the price, which would no doubt piss off even more people than the current DLCs have done  Not sure they want to go down that route. Perhaps just hold off on DLCs and release another OA-sized expansion in the middle of 2011? Just a few thoughts.. To those complaining about the quality of the videos/audio - You are more or less the minority here...Not saying the devs shouldn't attempt to help you, but there are alot of people, myself included, who have no issues with either and it's most likely a problem with your own PC hardware/software...Definitely not something worth jumping up and down and saying "I'm dissapointed BIS" over. And finally, to those bitching about the download speeds - The game is less than 12 hours old, did you really expect to get the fastest speeds with so many other people downloading at the same time?...Once again, calm down and just be thankful that you don't live in Australia. (my fellow Aussies know what i'm talkin' bout...) I do have to agree with the angry crowd about one thing though. The fact the entire DLC was more or less given away for free, isn't a very good move. I can easily see why people are pissed off that they paid money to basically get higher quality content. I like the idea of everybody having everything, but as someone suggested perhaps a teaser campaign for those who didn't buy the DLC would of been a better idea - That way those of us who did buy the DLC, can feel as though we got something for our $ rather than just having the feeling of being more financially supportive.... I'm sure i'll still get quite a few angry replies from all that i've said - But just to save you all some time, PM me your abuse. I will be posting this and then getting back to work, so i won't bother to read any replies you post here...Plus it's easier to ignore them them all and just hit delete when they're in the inbox. ;) Finally - Thank you BIS for the continued support and additions to the game :) But in the future, please let those of us who supported you, get something unique/special for our support. -
Annoying animation where you slide left or right after running, remove it
Villain. replied to Cookieeater's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=109628 - I think this has what you are looking for. But, like someone mentioned in the above linked thread, it would be great if this were included in one of the upcoming patches. -
Should this topic be used as the discussion topic (for BIS forums) or should we avoid posting here and use I'44 forums and wait for an official one to be made here instead? Thought it was worth asking, don't want to feel the almighty wrath of Placebo for continuing to post in this topic if it's not allowed :p...
