Is it me or linux binary is a bit 'crashy'? I've seen it crash for any reason, after uploading a file via ftp, and even when someone connects. In windows i've seen errors when the server says it cannot read a file, you just press ok and that's it, server's still running, but in linux it crashes for whatever reason :(

I am testing with a linux server, and i am noticing that when launching it with ACE it dumps this on the console: Is it normal ? Am i doing something wrong ? That's what i noticed, i was running it with two cores and -cpucount=2 and it seemed that it barely used the second core, so i put there 2 more cores (vm) and start again with -cpucount=4, no diference. (3 wasted cores) I was trying to gain more server FPS or efficiency using the cores...

No, thanks. That implies simplifying the game to the extreme, i don't know about you, but i don't want that at all. I want that Arma remains as "Combat Simulator" as it is today. If Arma goes to the consoles (or console style game A.K.A. "DUuuuuuUUMB!") it will be its end. At least for me.

Would it be possible to add some kind of firing range, or targets to fire at near the base respawn? It may be a silly request, but i was testing guns the other day in a Domi with ACE, and i thought it would be nice to have some kind of targets to shoot instead of the usual buildings around base. ^^

Hey there, i've packed all the ACE folders in handy 100mb RAR parts (10), and uploaded it to Megaupload for my clan. But i wish to share the files with you too guys ;) The first part is an autoextract executable, it has no virus as far as my AV tells me :P Don't be afraid, it is spanish rar version. It is pretty obvious, but in any case, to avoid confusions: "Aceptar" means Accept/Ok. "Cancelar" means Cancel. "Examinar" means Browse. "Instalar" means Install. Just point it to the Arma2 folder. From this point on i suppose you all know how to modify your shortcut, and that you have to choose which CBA version to set up. Does -showScriptErrors param generate any type of .log ?

Well, i guess i have to reinstall everything :S I hate that.

Ok, so i updated to 1.54. Got multiple errors when installing, ignored them. Reinstalled again as you suggested. Did notice that the second time the installer seems that it is not copying any pbo file at all. Well... i started a dedicated server on my own computer, opened OA, went to multiplayer and tried to connect to my server... i got banned! :eek: Server console shows this: I guess i have a corrupt air_e.pbo Does anyone have a good air_e.pbo file and wants to share? Or does anyone know of an installer that doesn't have errors ? I've just downloaded again the update from the official links and oh my! it happens again... :(

You should try to base your opinions on your own experience. I have already installed 10.8, i'm hoping to get the other 5850 today and test it with this drivers. Will post here the results. Some people at Guru3D are saying good things about 10.8: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=327756 Of course there are people who have problems, but there are also peope who don't. I think maybe there are more factors to take into account. (different graphic card, maybe other hardware, etc.) But what i try do always is to test things on my own and get my own conclusions, not base them on others comments.

The throttle thing i think it was done like that to ease the flights. Mainly to be able to fly straight without having to worry about the throttle. It's really annoying for people who are used to play sim games, but it's easier for people who don't. Or when yo have to take a peek at the map.

For relaxed flights keyb+mouse is fine. But when things get hot, you really need a joy, at least me. I can't seem to be able to do very fast turns (heli) with keyb+mouse without putting myself or others in danger, but with the joy i am "da mastah" in turning-crazy and other lunatic-flying-stuff. I use Thrustmaster T 16000 joy, that is cheap but very sensitive. More than the others with same price. (~30€)

That happened to me sometimes when playing on my computer, but when i played on my clan's dedicated server i didn't have that issue anymore.

A "contraction" that later becomes an abort, or a premature birth if you prefer. Totally agree with you. This industry has become a money-making-wannabe, forgeting about quality and pamper. Fortunately there are still a few companies that do care for their games. No need to enumerate which ones i guess... :icon_rolleyes:

What did you expect? Artificial Intelligence pays a heavy cost on the CPU. GPU has nothing to do here, although they could try to use GPU to process AI too?? (just a comment). FPS go down because of the large amount of AI. It's perfectly normal in my opinion. Besides Ambient civilian on VTS 3.5, Warfare and so on, LAGS a LOT.

I hate that game, yes, the one without the hyphen. I hate those people who take advantage of a good name (yes CM i'm staring at you too) to make a crappy game. I hate you all, fans so naive and ignorant to accept such atrocities to happen and even buy those games... FPDR I loved old X-Com franchise I loved old OFP Again... FPDR
