Meatball...when you get finished PM me. I flew on the 53 for 9 years and am just as interested, if not more, to have these birds in the game. -

Well I can say that I have been working with the missions some for the ArmA II unit I am in and so far we like the gameplay style. The only thing we have found that we would like to see changed would be the addition of ACE2 which would allow a more realistic gaming experience. We are currently working on trying to add ACE2 to the missions, but have found some incompatabilities with the mission scripting and some of the modules. Hopefully we can find some work arounds to alleviate these issues as this has massive potential for some real combat simulation. -

Not everyone likes the FPS or CS style of pvp. It's more of a challange when you fight other people if their is a purpose behind it other than capturing a flag or just killing for the sake of points and internet-ego. I have been tracking the progress of these mission sets for some time now and think they are great and you can get some great tactical team pvp out of these missions. To win in AAS missions you have to work as a team or you will not be successful. I do have one question...will these missions be compatible with ACE2? -

He can't help it...he's mad because his knuckles are scarred from dragging the ground. ;) ---------- Post added at 08:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:12 PM ---------- It's not the new that bothers me....it's the idea they stated on their forums of limiting the mod to certain servers which defeats the open and free usage that is our community. By the way...nice missions, you really should finish them.... -

Simple fact, I gave my opinion of how I felt this mod would work. Another simple fact, other people gave their opinions, I read them and then responed to those who slammed me for my opinions, which in turn flared my other opinions. I also remember the OFP pvp being more than the current ArmA II community and the reason for that is all that the servers play is coop missions. The mission development community was much more during the OFP days than they are now. Why this is I do not know, but the main point of what I was trying to get to with my original post; if we want more pvp then why not start developing and hosting more pvp missions. Everyone's failsafe for improvement is always to build a MOD, when scripting and developing the mission will serve the same purpose much more effectively. ACE2 was developed as a realism mod...not as a coop mod. I do not think that the ACE team meant for their mod to be used soley for coop purposes and am willing to bet that it wasn't. The lack of pvp is the fault of the community as a whole. Look at every server and you will find a majority of coops like domination, which is fun for a while, but gets extremely old quick and there is no real challange to it. Unfortunately most servers run these missions because they draw in the public players...public opinion is at fault. If you want more PvP you need to start advocating for more pvp missions to be developed, that aren't low quality. I personally choose pvp missions over coop missions any day of the week due to the ability to play against a human that is more adaptable and challanging than the AI in the game. I have been advocating pvp missions for the 3rdMD servers for a while and we are currently looking for quality pvp missions to run, without much success. If the PR team can accomplish the re-building of pvp without pulling away from what ArmA is and is compatible with other addons that many enjoy using, such as ACE for example, I will use it. But I will have to see it before I believe it. -

I gave my opinion that I personally do not see this working as presented and the trolls opened their doors. The only negativity I show is towards them. I am sceptical due to what sounds like an unwillingness to listen to the mod/scripting community (and 6 people from ArmA II does not consititute the mod/scripting community) on issues that have already been brought up and resolved or improved. The one thing I can say about the ACE team is that they truly "get" the community and have embraced it with their development process, which is why it is so successful. Also the idea that ACE2 is for coop style game play only is for those who do not think outside the box and try using it with pvp (AAS, C&H, etc.) style missions. You would be suprised at what can be done when you have hundreds of people working to improve the system over 6 or 7....so I think the elitist comment was a far stretch earlier (not directed to you Yoma) as to be elite you are one of few...I am one of many. -

First, the 3rd MD doesn't have anything to do with my opinion. Do not hurt yourself while you try to comprehend this, but just because I sport the 3rd MD tag it does not indicate that everything I say is for the entire unit...we have freedom of speech and I use it often. I know this concept must be new to you, but try to keep up ok skippy. Second, let me get you a tissue to wipe the tears and some tweezers to pull the sand from your vagina, because you sound like you have a personal grudge. If you have a personal beef with the 3rd, take it up with your mom as I'm sure she is the only one who cares. Unless you were a part of the 3rd MD, you know nothing about us. -

Has nothing to do with being "elitist". It has to do with fun and if you have restrictions forced on you to ensure teamplay, then you are not fostering a team environment you are fostering a dictatorship and people will find a way to get around the system. When you have a group of people who "chose" to play that way you will have more fun and less issues. -

Yes, I play Arma public all the time. The people I game with actively use teamplay and tactics for any and all missions we run. Join us sometime on the 3rd Mar Div servers. Not sure what group of ArmA people you game with and what missions you are used to, but "easy" isn't what myself and those we game with are all about. For the most part we are all active duty military and veterans...our game is only done through teamwork, as we try to keep what we do as realistic as possible. It's not meddling, its called using my god given right to give my opinion. I have played BF2:PR and I do not think it will work within the ArmA community with the mindset it has now. There is no need for a new MOD to accomplish what they want, that's the beauty of ArmA and the ability to develop and script missions. All of what they want, other than the addons of UK units and gear, can be accomplished and has been in many cases. -

BF2 is popular because it is easy to play, right out of the box. Arma takes intellegence to play. I have been playing both game series (BF and OFP/Arma) since their creation many years ago. If the purpose of PR is to make it more like BF2 then I won't be playing it at all. I like the mature community of Arma, it is what actually draws me to the game. I do not like the BF community because it is primarily comprised of immature kids and teenagers who do not give a shit about the game play or the commradery of the team...all they care about is the next kill and who has the highest score. I have seen many mod teams over the years, try to pull a mod from another game and do the same to OFP/ArmA/ArmA II and fail, because they are basing their goals, decisions, and vision off of the previous game. I see no difference with the PR mod as I did with those many other mods in the past. Arma is a tactical military simulator and is meant to be difficult and challanging to play. You say the purpose of your mod is to "To create a realistic and immersive modification for ArmA2, which focuses on encouraging teamwork through gameplay"...has your team ever seriously played ArmA? Go download ACE2 and some PvP missions and then tell me how easy it is to play without using teamwork. ArmA was designed with teamplay in mind as it is the basis for VBS1 and VBS2, which is used by militarys around the world as their tactical simulator. Seems to me that all you are doing is trying to reinvent the wheel or fix something that ain't broke. I truly hope your goal is not to make ArmA II more like BF2 because, if I want to dumb things down and make it easier I would just go play BF2...guess that's just my opinion. I think the "PR Mod" is not going to be good for the ArmA community in it's current direction. You would be better served colaborating with a team that has already mastered the very aspects you look to change or "improve". Your teams inability to listen to some of the most experienced modders and players in the ArmA community and the talk of limiting servers is also very disturbing. Unlike the BF community, ArmA II relies on the cohesive partnership of our modders and the ability to work together for the sake of the game and not the sake of an individual mod. -

As it stands right now sfc.itzhak cannot release the addons to the public, due to the issues he still needs to fix. To do so would not do them any justice as he has done an outstanding job on them, up to this point. He is actively working on them, but is doing so on his free time and with work and real life, sometimes free time does not come as often as we would always like it to. I can assure you that he is working on them though and the 3rd Marine Division testing team is giving regular feedback on what we are testing for him. -
Not sure what it could be then as it is the only map that does it. I that maybe it was interacting with other addons enabled so I even disabled all other addons and mods and it still did it.

I still have ArmA II crashing when I play OFP Worlds or any other island...happens after about 15 to 20 seconds of game play.

ok will do

the-F I keep having issues where my game crashes after 15 to 20 seconds of gameplay, when playing OFP Worlds.

Why not replace the normal H-60 models with Dukes H-60's http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=7356 I think these are much more realistic.
