Hello everybody! This will be my very first addon for my favourite game. The F-15E Strike Eagle for ArmA2: Operation Arrowhead. Right now the airframe is in the works, completion is about 80-90%, only for the main airframe. I got the permission from [GLT]Myke to use his Air Weapons Pack as it contains everything a designated "Screaming Eagle" driver needs and is supposed to need - ok, everything but the nice SDBs, but maybe he will add them later on.^^ The story behind all this is that I was missing some kick-ass fighterbomber for close air support dashing over the target followed by a big load of either Mk82s, GBUs or even Mk20 Rockeyes. We had it in OFP, Armed Assault and ArmA2 but the model and textures did not really change since then. So I said to myself "get your ass up and start building your own Eagle". It's main surpose shall to be used for mission makers: A single or a pair of Strike Eagle entering the scene, blasting enemies to hell and making big f-ing noise while leaving with full afterburner. For second I would recommend the Strike Eagle for Surveillance and Close Air Support (player operated). In large scale battles the integrated imaging devices gives the airmen a good view of the fight on the ground. Direct allied ground troops, assign and prioritize targets to allied air forces and reinforcements, overwatch held positions and hills or deliver some 500lbs+ goods to hostile troops. And last but not least: have fun with one of the (if not the very) best multirole fighterbomber available. The ability of the Strike Eagle to carry a total of 11.000 kilogramms of weapons into battle makes it the first choice for ground troops when it comes to pure destruction power. The GAU/8 cannon of the A-10 Warthog might have power - but it's nothing compared to the fast Strike Eagle coming in almost hypersonic with up to 26 little gadgets under it's wings. This is carpet-bombing at it's best! The feature list is still not written but there are some things that might make the way into first release: - high quality sounds including sonic boom and fully animated, realistic start-up sequence - working and useful MFDs for both pilot and WSO - afterburners and hypersonic flight (dare not to keep an eye on your altitute) Sorry that there are no pictures in here right now but I am rendering the hell out of my computer but it won't get faster. Never said the NSA was, but aiming down sights with NVG on. And when I say "...though I am glad I never had to use it" I mean I did not have to fire upon unfriendly people. My assignment was completely without any such incident, though I was out on recon and patrol for most of the time - we were very lucky. But please, back to topic. Make seperate LODs for better performance. You won't see the RIOs panel as pilot and vice versa. Use copy&paste (Guttenberg method). -

Well, in Afghanistan I tried to use binoculars and aim down the aimpoint and scope of my G36 with NVG on. It's hard to get a steady picture, but keeping a target within or even fire the weapon is almost impossible. Remember, if you set the NVG to infinity to see more than your feet you might have a problem reading crosshairs and the aimpoint just dazzles you. And don't forget the fact that the NVG entry lense is further away and in most cases between your eyes or left of it. It is very uncomfortable to aim your weapon with NVG. That's why they mount NV modules in front of the scope, like NSA/NSV 80 (basic knowledge of german language necessary) and combine with (IR)laser aiming modules. A G36+NSA80+LLM01 is awesome though I am glad I never had to use it. So, in ArmA it's all ok if you can use your ironsights and CQB optics with NVG, but not the scopes unless they're speciel NV scopes. -

Well, the automatic sweep is yet to come, I guess. Right now there is only the "oversweep" action where the wings are swept over the max position which is only used for storage in tiny aircraft carrier hangars. You still have to consider that it's BETA and vector's list is already packed with things to do. :D -

I am not sure as we did not release anything but we have pretty high requirements when building addons and we would lower them if german, left-handed driven, vehicles would get a british reskin. Also, the lights are slightly different so this would not look realistic in the end. So, right now, you get a NO from us. I just got the info, it's a different vehilce. We have the KAT 1, the british army uses MAN HX. But if I am not wrong RKSL is working on HX MANs. But the NO is still persistant, sorry. ;) -

Apology accepted! :D It looks like we have a solution to the trailer problem, or we are at least close to one (can't tell for sure, if I look at code I start feeling dizzy). Under certain circumstances I can think of making it accessible to third parties but only if it works perfectly in multiplayer. And if not, well, let's just wait for ArmA 3. ;) -

We have no plans of including Military Police units at all as there is no plausible reason in gameplay to put them in the mod. -

That is absolutely correct. We, the GAF made plans, can't tell anything about it, all classified but if you are close to an alpha stage, hit me, maybe we should talk then. ;) -

Right now we are working on the backbones of the GAF in the late 80's. Who knows what might come later but right now, there are absolutely no plans to make a Eagle IV. Right now there is at least one in the making by Fail Cakes but he works on his own. Nevertheless we got a huuuge amount of stuff that is totally classified and when the time is near you might be surprised, sooner or later. ;) *Note to myself: Reduce usage of "right now" significantly -

Pic-upload works great on the european end and you are at the other side of the world - and upside down, too! ;) Well, why don't you see the waiting time as foreplay or teasing? It makes the pleasure more intense. But we're sorry mate, imageshack is too slow if you live in the german outskirts. -

You could use G36C with EOTech for flash light. Or you make every single rifle in 2 versions, one with laser, one with flash light. But one thing: are your ingame texture settings that low? Otherwise you should work a bit on the textures, they look very blurred. Another hint: No-one would ever wear a beret when going into combat. You don't bring a knife to a gun fight, do you? -

Well, you could save some at the nose, poly count is quite heavy there. I think you could have almost the same look if you half them or reduce at least by a third. Second point might be the base of the wings, where the wing sweep mechanism is set. But that's just my opinion. ;) €dit #1: Well, almost forgot to say something: Sweet little girl! There was a example video in ArmA1 showing your Tornado with something like a new/enhanced/easier flightmodel. Are you planning this too? €dit #2: What program are you using before you port it over to O2? -

Not if you don't say please. And please, open your eyes and read. It was stated several times that BWMod is required, so why shouldn't it be compitable to BWMod? Seems like CBA will be required too so it will be ACE2 compitable. -

Most of the cars were either local cars (like the Yugo) or Volkswagen, e.g. Golf (Rabbit) Mk II diesel. It felt like every second car was a Golf, totally shabby, corossion all over but there were some cars in better shape, even with aluminum rims. So for the beginning the standard ArmA II vehicles might be good. You have some rare SUVs too, but they are either stolen, from mafia guys or just filthy rich people. Well, that 3 options do not exclude each other if you take it further... :D So, if you're doing a balkans map, do it like Chernarus. I'm serious, they both have so much in common. I had deplyoments in both Bosnia and Kosovo, we're good with what we have. Nevertheless, good luck with that project, I'm really looking forward to testing it. Kind regards, Jester -

Nope, no Leo2 planned. BWMod will be required and the 2A6 is already top notch. Same thing with Dingo. The MB G250 Wolf just gets additional versions e.g. with MILAN.
