How to give Starforce21 multiple waypoints?
paajtor replied to paajtor's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
yeah, that's why I searched for a way to edit the armory-credits :) And as far as I can tell, it doesn't affect my running campaign. -
How to give Starforce21 multiple waypoints?
paajtor posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
I am at the start of the campaign, trying to locate Akula, and gathering evidence etc. Razor-team has Starforce21 at it's disposal, very nice! But when sending the pilot to a good position somewhere to the north (deep in enemy-territory), he simply flies over hostile villages, and gets his chopper damaged! :( Is there a way, to make him take a safer approach? I know...I can add markers on the map, but they're only for my personal use. How can I give him multiple waypoints? The only workaround I can find, is to give him a 1st "unload position" somewhere halfway the route - on a safe looking spot, but Razor stays on board, and I give him a 2nd spot - safe, and closer to my target...etc, etc...untill we reach our final extraction-zone. Very time-consuming, and also very unrealistic. -

Yeah, could be the case..just fire up the Armory, and do a few of the 1st challenges. It's really no big deal, like "reach X location within 30secs", means you gotta run a bit, that's all. Or hunt a few cows or rabbits, stuff like that. gl. -

You're looking in the right place, mate? It's in your C:\Documents and Settings\>yourwindowsaccount<\My Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles\>yourplayername<-folder. The entry is near the bottom of the file. Just hit Ctrl+F, and type armory [Enter] anyway, my question about hunting in campaign seems to be a nOOb-question, since I get no further answer LOL. :D Would be cool, though. -

How to give Starforce21 multiple waypoints?

Hmmm, I might try that approach, thx guys. Got a question: in the Armory, you get these "challenges", 1 of them being hunting for food. Suppose I take Razor out for a long walk, do I actually have to hunt some, after being isolated from resupplies for days on end? Weapons and ammo should be no problem. -

(mods, sry for posting in wrong forum) So I guess there's no other way - yet?:( -
Maybe it's time to defrag your harddrive....I use Defraggler. The 1st you run the program, it might take hours to complete - depending on the state of your data. But for Arma2, it's worth it imo. :D

Just start with the basic controls, which is for Infantry, and familiarize yourself with them, as the core of ArmA2 is Infantry. Don't bother mapping every key before you start playing....it takes to much time. You'll learn them faster, by changing them while being ingame. The bootcamp or Armory is a good place to start. If you're about to use a vehicle, start mapping vehicle-keys...etc. Some keys overlap different roles...for example, I like to use my joystick to drive vehicles as well: the "point nose down" for aircrafts works as "move forward" for vehicles too. Remember that your controller (joystick, gamepad) needs to be connected prior to firing up the game, otherwise Arma2 won't recognize your presets. hint: the evasive L/R command is a good way to flatten a patch of grass, when you want to go sniping. ;) Btw, there's a way to unlock every Armory-unit...very nice, if you don't like those armory-challenges. Read here

Just assign the controls to keys, and try them. :D Evasive L/R, means rolling sideways while you're prone. Also don't forget that keys can have 2 functions: tab, and double-tab...for example, tab-Q (default) once, and you'll lean as long as you hold the key. Double-tab Q, and you'll stay in lean untill you cancel out.

For the Macron! :D

When you engage the laser-designator on a valid target, you see command-menu on left side...click your use-key (I have it assigned to click-mousewheel), to confirm and call-in strike. Keep laser on target, even if it's moving ;)

I know :) But I don't mind having to wait for 1.05, as my private shedule comes first. So, cya then, hopefully :D

I took a look overthere, interesting! When patch 1.05 is released (and performs as I expect it to do), I'll consider joining up.

Auto-targeting in planes and vehicles
paajtor replied to SFJackBauer's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I'm not an expert on this matter, but isn't it the case in a modern army, that friendly vehicles have a transponder onboard, that shows they're friendly? -
*bumping this old thread* As the L-shift + Num- didn't work for me, I tried a different approach: - go to your MyDocuments folder, and find your >playername< ARMA2PROFILE File - make a backup of this file, just in case. - open it in Wordpad. - hit Ctrl+F, and locate the entry called armoryPoints - change the value to read 26000; - save the file-changes. Now fire-up ArmA II, go to the Armory, and find everything unlocked! This procedure is only needed once.:dance1:

Ah, I was correct haha. I even think it goes back to the days when RO was still a mod for UT2004!

In manual fire, why does my gunner keep changing the weapon?
paajtor replied to webman1200's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Maybe you have conflicting control-keys? Check the Aircraft-controls section, and look for Red entries...those conflict with others. Make sure your "switch gunner weapon"-key has no conflict with other commands. -
Welcome, Smetana. Your nick sounds familiar...from Red Orchestra, perhaps?

Very true. The Russian Army (or AirForce) is also very low on cash, and so every unit tries to make the most out of what's available, to make life easier. In reality, there's almost no vehicle - be it ground, air, or sea - that looks the same in Russia. -
Grass layer not the best solution?
paajtor replied to Chunk3ym4n's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Thank you for that! Now I get an idea, about the current status of this. The original idea is good, but the aiming needs to be fixed. And still I gotta say, that the sinking-in looks odd...in particular, when viewed through a sniper-scope. And that's imo the view that counts most, in this case! Maybe it's an idea, to make the units (AI or human) also become a bit transparant, when they go prone? -
Glad it works now...and glad I was pointing towards the right direction.:jump_clap:

Are you in a clan? Ask a buddy, to give you a copy of his ARMA2PROFILE File, located in his/her My Documents, and paste it at your location.
