  1. Arma 3 has 1:1 mouse / view, all you have to do to twitchshoot is not run all the time.
  2. depends, a 650 Ti boost probably will, a 630, not a chance.
  3. Mantle would be nice for things like viewdistance and model detail, but it will not help the simulation, which is the main performance killer in arma. Still, would be nice to run 10km viewdistance with current performance levels, but not really worth spending much time on.
  4. For arma a cpu with fast per-core performance is much more important than a fast gpu. If the gpu is the bottleneck you can always lower settings, if you have a big battle you're probably cpu bottlenecked, and there are no settings to reduce the fidelity of the battle simulation. I'd keep the 285 in, upgrade cpu, mobo, and ram if your ddr3 doesn't work on 1.5V The "best" cpu for arma is the 4670K, combined with a Z87 motherboard.
  5. The argument is that bohemia's games should be cheaper there compared to europe because other games are. Anyway, just get them in a sale, it'll be cheaper than friggin cod, which never goes on sale and is a worthless game.
  6. Overkill psu will still work fine of course, but it might be nice to change it to a lower wattage 80+ gold corsair if they have them, saves a bit of power in the long run. Corsair has a solid rep for build quality (only use good quality oems like seasonic) and very long warranties so you might want to stick with them.

    Sale in BI store over?

    steam sale just started.
  8. it's 2% more, a lot more reasonable than the ps4, which is 325% more.
  9. Nvidia and amd usually recommend overkill psu's because a lot of brands pretty much lie about capacity and they don't know the rest of the system. Also, old psu's cant deliver all their power at 12V (which is what the cpu and gpu use, and they use the most by far) the 770 uses about 230W, 4770K uses about 70W, rest of the system probably 20W, even a modern 400W psu by a good brand should be fine, modern 500W should be very safe, 650W will even allow for sli.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

Is that the headless client thingy?
  11. 30 fps cpu limited is usually more playable than gpu limited (because of the way amd and nvidia configure the drivers, maximizing average fps but creating extra input lag). 30 - 40 fps in arma I find playable, but I do have graphics set pretty low (so the gpu finishes a frame quicker, lower latency) and I play it on my crt screen (also low latency).
  12. could download arma 2: free, it's an unmoddable arma 2 with crap textures.
  13. Pointless, arma costs the same everywhere.
  14. If the psu is by a decent brand it should easily cope with a 290, gpu's never use over 300W, even a modern 550W psu should cope. Anyway, what's the exact psu model? Old psu's (not enough 12V focus) or really bad brands that have really optimistic wattage claims will break if you load them up to that level, that's why AMD recommends 700W. It's not like a 290 has unbelievable power consumption, only uses 60-70W more than a 770.
  15. If I were to buy new I'd want more than 2GB, problem is the 4GB variant of the 770 is quite expensive, you can get a R9 290 for that kind of money, which should significantly outperform the 770. 290's can be a bit loud though.

    Xbox code in BI tools?

They tried to get arma2 running on xbox 360, but it didn't work out, bad performance, lack of memory and streaming from a dvd is a pain (not all xboxes have harddrives)
  17. Oh ok, yeah, makes sense, worst case you'll run a game without crossfire and still have 7970 levels of performance, which is fine for arma3.
  18. Don't get a 7990, the 290 or 290X is a much better choice. Otherwise get a 780. 4770K is a decent cpu, but for games the 4670K is just as good. 7990 still has the old crossfire implemetation that doesn't compare to sli or crossfire with the new 290's or 290X's. I'd stay away from dualgpu cards like the 7990.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

On a near empty map it's easy to be gpu limited.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

    euhm 5.6 and 5.1 I presume?
  21. Yeah, but if you have a modest gpu and it doesn't run well you can simply lower settings and it'll run fine, if your cpu is too slow there's no setting that'll solve that.

8 Gigs of Ram Not Enough?

Anyone know of a way to disable this annoying message and keep aero on? Have it in every game.
  23. 135 brl is about $60 right? Game is priced the same everywhere, why should brazil be different?
