CUDA support or at least CPU optimization

it's not physics that slows down this game. it's AI operations
  2. Just saw the announcement... I can only say wow! but hey then in the boards all those people talking about video cards????? ARMA IS ALL ABOUT CPU!!! so since you are in a development phase, could it be a good idea to implement CUDA inside the game just for the AI? i mean i have a spare CUDA card around , and everyone can pick one up for like 50 bucks, can we put all the AI and calculations on that CUDA CHIP??? that way is optimization, because even today the difference between a thousand dollar cpu and a 400$ one is like 3-4 fps? let's do the things wisely.

    Nocd arma2OA

My situation: bought arma2 in steam. tried arma2 in steam and had problems with addons, so i decided to use my cdkey and download an iso of the arma2 cd. when the game is installed with a LEGIT cdkey, i find out i can't play without an original cdrom. a nocd crack isn't out yet. solution: i installed a beta that has no cd verification check. bottomline: i can't play with a stable version of the game WHICH I BOUGHT, and i need to play with a beta version instead. is it possible to have a LEGIT nocd check? piracy? this game without multiplayer is uselss so you shouldn't bother with that. i know you paid fot securom protection, but... you have a customer in trouble here :D sincerely, dito lesto.

    Head movement lag

:( but can you try to replicate this problem on your rig? i doubt is a problem of hardware because i'd have mouse lag in any given point of the game. i assume somewhere there is an override for the sensitivity of freelook. love an answer from bis right now :D i have a phenom II x4 955@965 4 gb ram (next week 12gb) gtx260 2xcaviar black

    Head movement lag

i'd like to get some people feedback on this one. it's crucial for situational awareness for people with no triple monitors.

    Head movement lag

back at the times, i already dug everything about mouse smoothness and sensitivity, when you had to adjust from a txt config file instead in-game sliders. and it went off. i am now playing pan and tilt with the mouse with a good responsiveness. bear in mind that i tried everything, from mouse_fix to settings in files to settings in game. as you hit alt key and go freelook it still has the issue i previously had also while aiming. i just ask bis guys to point me in a direction for tweaking the sensitivity/smoothness/responsiveness of the head movement while freelooking. i know, if i fix the thing with the mouse and it gets more sensitive and responsive, then when using trackir or freetrack that would become uncontrollable, you say. but that's not the case because freetrack and i presume trackir too have features to adjust sensitivity of their devices and tolerance and such things, so i'll be fine even with max responsiveness of the head. and one could always leave the setting default so noone is harmed. ---------- Post added at 09:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:17 AM ---------- thanks for the links. searched a bit, they all talk about ingame floatiness of the input. i am dealing with floatiness of freelook. try by yourself! try running and while doing that alt key and move the visual around. that feels a lot less responsive than moving mouse when aiming. i have yet to try with op. arrowhead though, but i doubt it will be any different. i also just bought 8 gigs more memory, so i get to 12 and can put the folder into ramdisk. i'll try that in 2 weeks time but i doubt it will fix the issue as i got that even when all low and 60 fps.

    Head movement lag

i mean i suffer that in arma 2 even in 1.07. i have always been suffering from freelook lag. it seems that sensitivity tweaks and input lag fixes has affected only the normal aim mode. as soon as i hit alt button the mouse lag comes back. this prevents me using any freetrack/trackir interfaces, as this lag counters my efforts while turning fast enough. both with mouse freelock and head tracking freelook. as a result i never use the freelook thing, reducing the immersiveness of the game. both on foot and on a veichle, which in my opinion is the best moment to use freelook function. as soon i get to the rig i'll try the fix, but from what i learned through years, that framesahead is a similar function of nvidia control panel "frames prerendered" one, and adjusting that means that the videocard lowers or increases the prerendered frames, of the entire game experience, not just while freelooking but also aiming. i must say that i am happy with the mouse aiming feel and responsiveness. i have issues only with freelook. and i have already reinstalled the game multiple times. edit: i think that the game when you enter freelook it just ignores the sensitiveness sliders of the normal mouse input

    Head movement lag

Hello BIS, great thing with arrowhead, going to buy as soon as i'll join my computer back in my hometown. this is a post about lag. not the mouse lag when pointing. but the lag as soon as i go freelook (alt key and mouse movement). this also effect my freetrack experience, as i feel head lag as i move around. could you fix this as you fixed smoothness and sensitivity controls on mouse aim? that should be quick line of coding. thanks again, dito

Dont give me this bs, you cant be this lazy, the only reason for wanting to do this is piracy." i have a raid0 with 2 caviar black 640gb... so i don't wait 30 sec for the game to load... oh and btw the other reason for using fixed exe is for using freetrack witout sticking with trackIR, and my newly built cap with 3 ir leds. have photos if you don't buy it. and i have a dvd drive, after it broke out for the second time, i decided i will never buy one again, and went buying a 16gb cruzer micro instead... this are photo proof: oh and the win7 is from MSDN thanks to my university... :D so no piracy either.

    Arma 2 without a cd?

But i have bought the dvd version of the game, but don't have a dvd rom. i've used the iso to install the game, and then registered with the original serial key, so i can play on official servers. only bug is that every version goes out i need to wait for an actual nocd fix to be able to play without cdrom. and now for 1.04 it isn't out yet... i didn't ordered through steam because i don't want to mess around with them anymore, already got cs, css, hl2 and other things from them. that's enough. what can i do? thanks, M.
