  1. Are you sure you copied the exe from the BAF folder into the PMC folder and replaced the original? If the 'not available dialog' pops up, it looks like its still using the old exe. You could rename to one in PMC to something else and then copy. Just to be sure. If it stil lwon't work, it's way out of my league. Good luck!
  2. All right guys, here's a quick fix for your Steam PMC. All credit goes to Steam user kylania as far as I know. 0. Do take note that this is a bypass, not a real fix. this might bring up issues a normal install wouldnt. 1. Make sure you've downloaded PMC in Steam. you should be able to click on 'Play' in the library. If you do, the try again later dialogue should pop. 2. go to your ...\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\DLCsetup\BAF folder. 3. Find datacachepreprocessor.exe and copy it. 4. Relocate to ...\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\DLCsetup\PMC folder. At this point, you should rename the datacachepreprocessor.exe in the PMC folder to something else. 5. Paste the .exe file and overwrite the previous one. 6. Run the datacachepreprocessor.exe in the PMC folder with Administrator rights 7. Let the Installer install everything. If a window pops up suggesting you'd reinstall something, dont do it. 8. ???? 9. The PMC should run automatically. You probably can't start the game from the Steam PMC launcher. Just run AO or Combined Op's and it should work. 10. Enjoy the game. cheers EDIT: Forgot to mention that you need to have BAF installed via Steam as well... probably. EDIT2: When choosing Play PMc from Steam, Not available error pops up. AO or CO should be run instead. EDIT3: Try not to forget to run the datacachepreprocessor.exe with 'Run as administrator'. If you get some pbo file related errorst after installing, try restarting Steam.
  3. Make sure you have BattleEye installed properly or just reinstall it. The most common auto-kick culprit. If that's not the case, check this thread. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=103996 Some useful posts regarding addons, default files etc.
  4. Yeah what the post above said. Redownloading usually isn't necessary.
  5. This is Steam related or at least theres's nothing you can do about it. Everyone who bought their PMC from Steam has this issue right now. You will have to try again another time, maybe in an hour or two. It shouldn't take more than a day for them to fix this.
  6. It's a steam related issue. Has happened before and does happen with some non-Valve games. It has something to do with the way the Steam client actually installs the already downloaded content. With a working release, there's some decryption, encryption, ???? and the downloaded package will be installed, but sometimes, some keys are done wrong and it won't install (can't find proper pieces, a proper installation location or any other not so relevant reason). Happens a lot to both non-valve addons and items you can pre-purchase. Im sure Valve is either already working on it or it's in their queue. I'd sit back, enjoy life and check back tomorrow, just like the pop up dialog says. Or if you can't fight the anxiety, every hour or so. And another thing I wanted to mention is sudden stuttering or lag after either patching your Steam version AO to 1.56 or installing PMC. Close the game and check your task manager and see if Steam.exe is hogging your CPU resources. Dwarden confirmed that this does happen lately after installing or patching with Steam. To fix it, just close and restart the Steam application. Cheers! Btw, we're hanging out in the PMC official Steam groups group chat right now. If you have any quick questions, you can try and drop by.
  7. It works. How could I add backpacks to a cargo, say an ammo crate?
  8. Maybe you're looking for: Unitname addBackpack "Backpackname"; Unitname removeBackpack "Backpackname"; Have not found a way to edit the contents of a backpack yet.
  9. Thanks. That does the trick for now. I'll still try to look into the 'hardcoded' difficulty settings maybe and find out how to force this feature with every difficulty setting. EDIT: The 'Extended Map Info' or something down at Options>Game Options>Difficulty>... controls the icons on the map so its pretty straightforward. Could even bind the setting to a map, so thanks again Kylania.
  10. I'd like my mission to have a kinda modified in-game map with absolutely no icons on it. No visible player or squad or enemy icons. The point would be to lose all GPS capabilities and have the player actually figure out where he's at using other in game cues. Is it possible to achieve it without messing with any texture addons? I've been looking through scripts, functions and commands but nothing has caught my eye.
