  2. Greetings and salutations all, Formed in 2009, the War Hawks are a group of like-minded individuals who enjoy online military simulations, teamwork, and the camaraderie born from the two. Our Mission This is the place for like minded individuals who just want to enjoy their gaming time without all the trouble that is typically associated with being in an on-line squadron. Over the years I have been involved with a few squadrons that I've seen dissolve due to drama and infighting. In our experience, drama is usually a result of people not having respect for others or people with legitimate complaints who feel unheard. As such, we will will be vigilant in regards to such people, especially early in the membership process, and we will have mechanism so that everyone can be heard and participate in the squadron. Overview No "command staff". Every member has an equal voice in matters of the squadron. While we don't expect everyone to always get along, I would hope that we could all be mature adults about issues and work them out as such. We don't want members who are just cogs. We want people who are invested and contribute. No minimum gaming time requirements. We all know real life can sometimes get in the way of our fun . And having specific gaming requirements can put an undue burden on folks when they need it the least. The best way to keep folks involved in a squadron is to give them a variety of events to participate in. A regular training program where we can all learn and discuss tactics and procedures that best represent the "simulation" side rather than the arcade style of training and play other squadrons of this type practice. That is, information based on real world tactics, as they apply to all of the sims we support. This will be available from entry level up through advanced tactics. And more importantly it will be presented in a fun and relaxed environment with our online classroom and in game training exercises. This approach will lead to a more uniformly trained squadron that can work together in any setting with minimal overhead, and also allow new members to get "up to speed" on how we operate much faster than conventional training. What we require: Ambition: While we are not the traditional definition of hardcore -- many of us have a busy real life that does not allow for unlimited game-time -- we do focus on full switch difficulty settings with limited mods enabled.. We care about the game; we want to progress our skills and share in the enjoyment of the sims we support. We are therefore driven, organized and dedicated and want members that share similar drive. We have no rules or expectations about how much time one should spend in game, but we do want people who try to contribute in the time that they do spend. Social skills: We are a community of friends of all ages and backgrounds that will survive comings and goings of on-line games and promote true friendships that will be enjoyed for years to come. We want people who are social and are fun to play with. Being fun on comms is a plus. Being active in the forums is an asset. Being able to communicate without an endless string of curse words is expected. Intelligence and Ability: We want players who are willing to learn, so that they can eventually be as skilled as possible. It matters not if you've played a particular game for years and years, or just bought it. Everyone should always be willing to learn, including the old crusty veterans. Age limitation: We do require you to be at least 18. Most of our members are 30 and over and have small children. Anyone that has ever been in a group with teenagers will understand. *grin* Here's a video of one of our missions from the beta a few months ago. You can keep up with our current activities on our website linked above, or by visiting our Facebook page at: War Hawks Online Squadron Facebook page Recruitment: If this sounds like a group you'd be interested in joining, fill out an application at: http://war-hawks.net/private/index.php/recruitment and someone will get back with you ASAP. ~S~ WH_Boomer

The War Hawks and 3rd Cav are tasked with taking out an HVT in Kavala. In order to accomplish this two teams are set up. One is tasked with destruction of the power station, thereby turning out the lights in Kavala, while the other is tasked with terminating the HVT with extreme prejudice. Grab a drink and a snack and enjoy the show. :)

    MBG Killhouses (Arma3)

Can't speak for the poster you quoted but yes, in my case I do have them installed on the server along with a few other mods. Everything else works except massi's DEVGRU mods, I'll remove one at a time this evening and see if it's a compatibility issue.

Any fix for this yet? Same issue here. :(
  10. ~S~ all, Just a quick shout out to Galzohar for his work on this mission. The War Hawks hosted a ArmA 3 Launch party that was live streamed on Twitch TV with Frooglepete and MalakithSkadi. We used this and DTAS on our dedicated server without any mission related errors. Thanks for the work, and thanks for joining us for the fun Galzohar. ~S~ WH_Boomer

~S~ Greetings, This post is to inform the community we are again recruiting for mature ARMA2 players who enjoy small unit co-op style play. Our missions typically run around 60 to 90 minutes and do require teamwork and coordination to complete successfully. If this sounds interesting to you, check us out at: The War Hawks Website Looking forward to hearing from you soon,
  13. We run it on our dedicated server with CBA initialisation without any issues. Do you have the userconfig/GL4 directory on your server? I'm at work right now, so I don't have access to our config files. I do know I didn't have to add anything to the init file of our missions. ~S~ WH_Boomer
  14. Ahh good call Robalo!! The syntax change broke all of our missions great! Well at least I know how to fix them. Thank goodness for Notepad++ Thanks, WH_Boomer
  15. Yep and that was the last time the ruck system worked, at least without breaking the medic system which happened with 240'something. So we've decided to stick with what works with all of our missions.
  16. Did something change with the ruck system? Missions that I've created using the ruck, now have an empty ruck, which in effect breaks every mission I've created since version 231. YIKES!! Good thing I learned a few years back to always make a back-up before "upgrading". Looks like we'll stay at 231 for a while longer. ~S~ WH_Boomer
  17. So the ACE menu, where you have to examine, then use a bandage or injection, will work and require the medic to have the supplies to use? If so I will definitely be giving the revive script another look. But having medics running around with packs full of ammo or explosives rather than medical supplies seems silly, which is what happens if they don't need the supplies.
  18. If you can do any tweeking with the mission editor you can usually edit single player missions for multi-play, or take some of the bigger MP missions and reduce the numbers of enemy to suit. One other thing, I don't think any of the "revive" scripts work with ACE2, at least not yet. I could be wrong though, and would be glad to hear otherwise myself for the missions I work on for our squad. WH_Boomer

    Medevac Module

Still no signature for use on a dedicated server? I followed the directions for making one posted elsewhere n these forums, but ran into another issue with the previous version. In testing for our server use, the unit was sync'ed to the module and it worked in preview mode and on my local machine when hosting for myself, but when I uploaded it to the dedicated server, it would only give me an error message of, "A unit needs to be synced to the module" and no action menu message was available. I just downloaded the new version, and will try it as soon as I can make a signature and get it all uploaded to our server. ~S~ WH_Boomer

    Combat Extreme: The plant (coop30)

Great idea for a mission, but the spawn point drops some of our folks into the water. I did get the "un-packed" version, so the edit will be simple enough. But you might want to fix it if you submit it for download as a *.pbo. ;) Respectfully submitted, WH_Boomer
  21. This is causing the "Invalid crew Civilian" error with all of our older missions that had the UH-1, and the best I can tell is causing the error. ~S~ WH_Boomer

    War Hawks

Greetings again, Just a quick post to let folks know we are always looking for folks (70+ members now) that enjoy playing ArmA2 as a sim rather than a run and gun FPS. And that we are now running the ACE2 mod on our dedicated server. We typically run small unit style mission for our squad only events, but from time to time we do open up the server as a recruiting tool to let folks see just how we operate. If you are interested in joining a well established, mature group of folks that enjoy multiple sims, such as ArmA2, Blackshark, IL2, Rise of Flight, and even a few folks flying Falcon 4: Allied Forces, then check us out at: The War Hawks Hope to see you soon, WH_Boomer

~S~ Greetings all, We've put together a short video to show some of our activities over the last couple of weeks.
