Anti Aliasing generates weird graphic bugs on 7850
jungleboy1 replied to Velcon's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
will this be fixed soon or do i have to change it. Ive spend about 3 hours disabling AA and putting ATOC to 0 and enabling ppaa to 3 but i have no idea if its working because it looks like theres no AA but im wondering if its applying PPAA or its me :) -
COOP 10 Chernarus Apocalypse, part one
jungleboy1 replied to celery's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
We need more Celery!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need a PT4.......... I love these zombie missions u make but as i suck with the editing.......... its best to leave the expert to make them! This makes arma 2 so much more enjoyable........ WE NEED MORE! Heh! Hope u will make something like this in ARMA 3!!! -
Updated AMD catalyst drivers, now I have poor graphical performance.
jungleboy1 replied to pd3's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yeah im getting this problem too with my 6950. Fixes itself when i get rid of application control settings and put Catalyst AI to high quality, but then i just have red artifacts that appear. So id rather just not mess with it and keep my white popping textures. This seems to only happen in arma 2/OA and no other games that i have played. So i dont know if its an arma problem but i remember not having this...... when i first got my GPU so it must have occurred in one of the driver updates. -
If proper rain appears and if they dont focus on improving performance first, I think proper rain will lag the game to hell!!! Although i would like to see some puddles and floods with proper rain though:yay:. Then id be dancing in it like this guy hehe!

Player looking for squad (not for squads to post looking for players!)
jungleboy1 replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SQUADS AND FANPAGES
Hi, im looking for a unit in which i dont mind if its tactical or non tactical. It needs to be pretty small and not too demanding. The unit needs to be using ace (i dont plan on disabling it). Preferrably european based (i hate lag) but i still dont mind. Could you please pm me back :) Thanks. -
This might have been mentioned before, but looking on the forums i havent seen it so i will post it up for the time being. I thought it would be a good idea to make a proper train service throughout the game. I mean it would look better if maybe there was trains passing through every so often and could be driveable maybe the Russians or CHDKZ insurgents have like those ww2 kind of weapons attached to the train. Alot of possiblilities could be made from missions using just trains. If BIS could make the trains moveable by AI i think the game would be better and a little more realistic especially when the train track goes parallel with the road. A little movie mission could be created.

Right i guess you all thinking yes a WW2 mod how interesting why make this post. Well... If BIS made a completely new ww2 game using this engine i would buy it. Considering the terrible ww2 games already out there (my opinion) i think if BIS made a ww2 game they would make it so awesome it would kick out and defeat all the other ww2 companies out there. This is because all the ww2 games out there only have small maps and small campaigns and little mp missions and maps but not awesomly big ones like in ARMA 2 where you can go around the whole map and make your own missions your own scenarios and anything can happen anything can change. If they made a map of europe including italy but mostly focus on france and other key areas of ww2 and merged them into one big map the whole of europe perhaps. Sure it may lag the current pcs out there but in the future these pcs will be 3x outdated to the ones there so it is possible. A mod would not be able to do this as succesfully i believe even though they are ok as a freebie, i would be more than willing to pay for a ww2 game made by BIS using a big engine where anything can happen throughout the war, especially if they made the server sizes more like the size of "WOW" or even bigger. This would mean war happening all the time. Factories/airfields from warfare could be everywhere constructing planes etc for the war and people acting as civilians aiding the Germans or the Allied forces. I came up with this idea a long time ago before arma was introduced by playing OFP and i knew with an engine like OFP (at the time in 2001) anything was possible. Just to let you know this is a brief outline of my idea and theres things i havent said because otherwise this would turn out to be more of a world dictionary than a suggestion.:)

Hey, if youre up for a little campaign please can you message me. Im finding it difficult to play the campaign cooperatively because they all have passwords and everyone seems to have "friends" except me and i would like to play the missions with a proper player than these useless ai which i must babysit every second because they think they are rambo and get themselves killed. I have completed the campaign so im no noob to it. I would require professionals only, but if you really are new to the campaign then yes you can still message me and ill consider it. Thanks.
-
no comment?? Anyone out there?? is the campaign awful or do people just hate me or what?? Seems nobody likes coop campaign then. Im taking it all these people are not cooperative!? Now i know why theres lots of teamkillers/non teamplayers. Prove me wrong!

Well, other games such as the latest R6 series and a few other from "ubi" means that their combat is more or less using cover to cover strategies (if you know what i mean). Im trying to say that ARMA 2 should at least try and work a little on the close quarters, i know this is a problem and i know people have posted up about it and it also might be impossible to implement just like bf2 havent. If it was more like you could hug walls etc.. it would make it more realistic because the problem is when u aim around a wall it feels unrealistic compared to the cover system in vegas 2. Its like you pop your head out for a few seconds and the enemy goes prone and sprays the corner so if you pop it out once more even your finger, you die. If they used the cover system it would help tactical wise and probably help with the general problem in arma about close quarter combat. I know theve improved the ai actually using cover instead of in the open in ARMA and OFP. The problem is they dont actually hug the wall and i think if thats put in place not as a mod but as part of a patch there would be no issues joining servers and CQB would be fixed.

Thanks for your support guys. Heh! if nobody makes one i probably will have to in a couple of years make one myself and then distribute it :D. Thats if im clever enough but i dont know any 3d modelling or anything like that. All i do is play games not make them, although i make maps in editor thats all im good for. I know battlegrounds europe is out there but i cant afford to pay every month for a game that looks like ofp. I know ofp was amazing and still is but battlegrounds is nothing like it and you must pay weeey too much and its old!!! We need a ww2 game on this engine thats free! By free i mean we pay 1 price like arma 2 and thats it.
-
yeah they need to work on the rooms and buildings side of 1st person CQB because this is impossible the weapons and the actual soldier hardly can fit into the damn buildings. They are soo tiny for all this gear to get in. The doors look unproportionate sometimes, this makes it impossible for a good CQB looking through cover.
-
yeah sure i was gonna say sabre not 3rd person unless u want to actually switch to it manually. But cant think of a game with 1st person cover system though. Might be an idea for BIS to become the first.
-
yeah but they are making Arrowhead a sort of standalone so they could just implement it in there. I mean why not give it a try in beta if it dont work get rid of it??? Jeez! 15 years of solid gaming and i feel everyone disagrees with me.
-
I absolutely agree with you trickster. I believe in a ww2 game using this engine, even if it means making a mod or at least something of a great size. Im pretty sure overclocking the best computer now would be able to play the whole map of europe without lagging. Too bad the developers nowadays are too busy worrying about how much profit they will make rather than the content of the game itself although arma seems to be the best in the business in making things for communities and gamers and EA games and Activision the worst. These newer 2006+ games have been more of a quick $£€ profit rather than actual time taken to develop, focusing soly on graphics and slight improvements from previous titles (instead of using a patch). To be honest sean i dont know why you prefer modern combat because i think its not proper war anymore. You just sit around in base camps doing small ops mission/ UAV recon while a AH-1Z Viper and 1000x LGB blows all the insurgents out of the sky with a click of a button and the tunguskas and AAA batteries just gotta lock on automatically and press the fire button. Ok so to combat your opinion all i can say is why not make a modern war game around europe. Each country has their own faction and you can decide who allies/fights each other in the war. This uses the same concept as my idea above only changing the time scale. If you dont agree with this then i dont know what you will ever agree on. Trust me i have been playing computer games all my life (yes i know it sucks but everyone does something for a while)

Still many european gamers/ North american, good good! At least they havent all dissapeared to the consoles like the far east "yet".

Motion blur, bloom : make them options!
jungleboy1 replied to Yoma's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I havent seen any blurring, if i have then i dont really notice it. I have all settings maxed out so it should be there and probably is but it doesnt really bother me. I think its good that it is there because it adds more to the realism when a marine/insurgent is exhausted from the fighting and his eyes are starting to blur from lack of sleep.;) -
i had a look at the commands the other day and there is a small icon to click when you select a unit that says supress, however i tried it but the squad leader (me) said nothing. So i actually dont know why its there or it actually does what it says.
-
We need voice quality in game more like ventrilo or teamspeak (preferrably vent). If it was clear as that it would be good, however it wouldnt seem right and realistic. As ARMA 2 is a simulator i think the voice should be a little unclear to make it seem as if people are using radios rather than a direct one to one conversation like ventrilo makes it seem.

Is there anywhere to rearm at manhattan?
jungleboy1 replied to Njayjay's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Yeah it took me a little trouble finding it amungst the other crates which look nearly identical but it should be near (the commander and his laptop). Well thats what i think but i maybe wrong because its been a long while since ive played. Check around there but the artillery and UAV for me has been a little buggy, but good luck anyway. -
190.62 available from Nvidia :)
jungleboy1 replied to bangtail's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I dont know about you guys but on my gtx 295 im getting almost 20 fps increase from 30-40 fps to now 50-70 fps using Physx acceleration on using this driver from my old one. This is on a single gfx not slied. It seems to be happening on all my games now not just ARMA 2. Whether it is the driver or just me thinking its getting better i dont know, but it used to freeze a little and that doesnt seem to be the case. Anyone with the same experience please let me know :) -
Ok one major problem, which still happened in ARMA. Is that when your flying a chopper and you skim the top of any tree/bush with any part of the chopper it just loses fuel engine cuts off and the chopper just blows up in a pile of wreck and you die. I find that really annoying because i think in real life the blades from the chopper would be sufficient enough the cut the branches off the trees and prevent a crash. It would be like a chainsaw cutting down those forest trees in ARMA 2 with the rotors but unless you actually hit it really powerfully + fast in the big trunk then yes i would agree with a crash but not a proper explosion because its really unrealistic. At least the chopper would crash you would still survive and be able to bail out of the chopper wounded perhaps from the impact and possibly then a fuel leak will errupt maybe if it hits the tank and if you used a grenade or some kind of fire starting thing then it would explode. Those editor UH1 chopper crashes look more than realistic to be used when crashing into trees, rather than blowing up all the time in mid air or just skimming the tops of trees and blowing up into a ball of fire.
-
Lol me and my friend just suggested. We believe the trees are ANTI AIR and the rocks because they fixed this in arma but in arma 2 its not. The rocks are like anti tank because they flip tanks better than the men RPG them :D. They seem to do the job better than the enemy at least for now :P

Helicopters: "Land Here" and "Move To..."
jungleboy1 replied to Jaenus's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Yeah this has been happening since arma but in arma the ground was more flatter so they actually did do a better landing where you wanted them to. In arma 2 however, the ground is not so flat so when i was making missions and i told them to unload cargo they all flew in the same spot and landed on top of each other and they hovered along the ground and ejected the men which made half the men die. Then the choppers hit into each other and blew up. A land here waypoint was always needed since OFP but they havent introduced one (yet). -
Im 15. I hope no one has a problem with that. Its not like im a cod gamer who goes on arma 2 servers and tks and messes around and blows helicopters with rpgs and drops satchel charges on the base with a 30 second timer. I wouldnt dream of doing that. Some do but i hope they arent the same age as me otherwise im going to be very angry they moved to arma 2. I like the current age of 20-50 because you guys have so much experience and time to put into a game like this.
