That's a pretty decent control lay-out, but that's only covering about one tenth of the controls in ArmA 2. How about click down on the movement stick to change stance and click down on the aiming/focus stick for zooming in? Then make X/A button for a menu for the other stuff such as Binocs/Map/Compass/GPS/Watch/Salute/Push-ups/Diary and so on.

This.

It's been ready ever since v1.04 was released, still some bugs and it's still very rough around the edges, but it's 'ready'. The mission editor dosn't actually require any scripting to enjoy, you can just place a few things and have quite a fun time. The mods that I consider 'essential' are: CAA1 and Vilas' addons (So much weapons and units!). I have a pretty decent PC and get pretty decent FPS (30-40, only ever dips below 30 when the action gets REALLY intense), playing at medium settings (still looks great).

Welcome! But the moderators will most likely lock this thread.

Sorry for not being able to know if English was someone's native language over the internet, oh forum god. ;)And I have taken classes in Indonesian and Italian, so you can't really say I havn't made an effort, now can you?

Maybe he means the borders blurred, so you focus more on the iron sights themselves, I don't know, just a guess. And sorry, TC, not sure how you could do that.

What if CryEngine was used as Arma 3 future engine?
Fudgeblood replied to jonneymendoza's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
That's not what I mean. What I'm saying is, BIS knows how to use the ArmA 2 engine to its full potential, they can get more out of it than an engine they don't know. It's like if you told VALVe to make a Half Life 2 Episode Three on the Unreal Engine 3, or as someone else posted "BMW asking Mercedes to build an engine for them", it's expensive, and not always the best thing to do. -
Pro-tip: When trying to get your point across on forums, use correct Spelling and Grammar.
-
That dosn't change the fact that the PC version would be dumbed down for Consoles and valuable resources were wasted on porting it over.I know some console people are for porting it over, but I have an even better suggestion, get a PC ;)

What if CryEngine was used as Arma 3 future engine?
Fudgeblood replied to jonneymendoza's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Jonney, BIS is a very small company, they arn't like Ubisoft or Activision, they don't have a big team and lots of money. They built their own engine, they know that engine well so they use it. It's like giving, say, an Afghan soldier an M16, it may be better than his AK-47 but he dosn't know the gun, the gun may cost alot to mantain, and overall he's not going to be as efficient with it. Do you understand? -
What if CryEngine was used as Arma 3 future engine?
Fudgeblood replied to jonneymendoza's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Bohemia Interactive is a small company, they know and love the engine that they're using now (Forgot the name). There is absolutely no point in using the CryEngine 3, it's expensive it's something Bohemia isn't used to and we can already do alot with the engine we have, though it would be nice, it isn't necessary. -
What if CryEngine was used as Arma 3 future engine?
Fudgeblood replied to jonneymendoza's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
We can already do all of that with the engine ArmA 2 is using now. Now why would we want that?Changing an engine isn't an easy task, you have to learn all the new scripting and coding and get used to working with it, not to mention is can costs thousands or even hundreds of thousands to buy a license. And it's way too early to talk about ArmA 3, if there ever will be one. Let's wait for Operation Arrowhead shall we? ;) -
Ambient Sounds Module, e.g if a town starts getting attacked sirens will start making noises. A realistic civilian life module, Civilians will talk to eachother, go to the shops, eat some food etc. Makes it all the more rewarding when I snipe them in the back of the head.

Yes, because online petitions always work! Just like they got Left 4 Dead 2 cancelled and turned into a patch for Left 4 Dead 1. :j:

This thread is going to be locked. We have another thread to discuss the expansion, please use it.

Upload it to something like www.tinypic.com, copy/paste the url, you can also do this (I think that's the command) to show the picture as part of the post.
-
Does that really need its own thread? Just use AVIBIRD 1's thread.
-
Never heard of this problem, sure you havn't got any modules/modifications or sound entities in the mission?
-
We have a thread for the console version of ArmA 2, but a console port would hardly ever have a chance of happening, and if it did it would be for Xbocks Three Hundred and Sixty. Why? The Xbox360 is just a low-grade PC, the PS3 is something different and thus harder to work with.

Judging by the thread title this thread was to include info about TheDuke1066, I am dissapoint. There are mods to disable motion blur, or just turn down Post Processing.

Bugs? Why do I keep hearing this crap..?
Fudgeblood replied to jwalstab's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Probably all the people waiting for OFP: DR that wanted to try out ArmA 2, finding out that it isn't a bug infested unplayable game that they were to believe. -

Is there away to have enemies not be able to see you as easily?
Fudgeblood replied to WMike20052's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Set the AI skill down, set it (in the waypoint menu) so they only return fire, or never fire, or set their mode to "careless" or "safe. That's all I can think of. -
What exactly are the AI's capabilities?
Fudgeblood replied to BeerHunter's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Alot of people have done AI tests, havn't got any links but you can look for them. But yes, AI will lose 'moral', they will occasionally retreat and split up. They also will report any sightings to other AI, you can also ask AI for this info, but it's not always correct.
