    Patch 1.04 Satisfaction Survey

Performance and network lag were fixed a lot with this patch. But it still needs more... the game still feels very rough around the edges.
  2. If the engine is built properly, then it doesn't fire several times per frame either, it just fires those rounds and the logic behind the rendering part of the engine keeps track of what's going on and you don't ever see it happen, because you're not getting enough updates on it. That's why you can play games at less than their target framerate. I have serious doubts about ARMA1 handling it that way, as it would mean the developers completely disregarded all lessons learned in game technology since Quake...
  3. I updated my drivers last night to 190.62. Game totally screwed up. I had just gotten 4gb of RAM back from an RMA case, they broke, and had installed them. The game totally bleared up, like it would not load high quality textures, and it would look like I was always standing far away from where I actually was... The -winxp commandline solved it for me. 8800GT, 8gb RAM.
  4. Yea, but the game doesn't actually update those things based on FPS, but on background counters that tick regardless of your FPS, so these guns can fire all those rounds, the engine keeps track of that. If the tickrate of event updates was dependent on your FPS, it would screw the game up completely...
