    Hey I love your gamemode man. One thing I would like to see is a version of this on the map Fallujah!!! It would play so perfectly on it.
  2. I am trying to make a certain unit spawn on trigger activation. When I paste the example lines from http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/createUnit into the on act. box nothing seems to happen. What am I doing wrong? Ultimately what I want is to spawn a custom plane I downloaded (with pilot) preferably into his own group whenever the player enters a certain trigger area. (But for now just spawning anything on trigger activation will at least give me some sense of progression here...) Also, before I get reamed out for this, yes I searched. I searched the Biki, I searched the forums, I searched armaholic.

So Using the first reply I've come up with this: Also I put a marker on the map named myplanespwn, not sure if that was needed. edit: So I wouldnt be using the BIS_fnc_spawnGroup then in favour of using BIS_fnc_spawnVehicle
  4. Alright, what I have so far is this: They way I plan to do it is quite dirty, but I'm really new to editing. It will just be, Once the player has been in the area for 300 seconds, a new plane will spawn for him to fight.

    Sorry to bump an old thread, but I have followed this and now I'm wondering how to know what to type in the init.sqf to spawn units from mods? http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=7285 http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8413 Trying to spawn the planes from those mods, would also like to include other mods in the future.

    Do you want Laaagdoll Physics in ArmA 3?

    Judging by the poll I think it's safe to say the vast majority of us, the fans, want ragdoll physics.. personally I can not wait for ragdoll physics, to me it will be a huge step up in immersion.. no more lame "guy getting shot" sequences when I just ran his ass over. when I shoot someone from far away in arma II and they do their little animation it's alright, I mean it works, but if it was ragdoll.. like they fell down some stairs or off a building, or even down a slope, that would be so much more immersive. And along with this comes vehicle physics, again, they WORK right now in arma II, but they could be so much better with physX added. the car physics will be so much better which will undoubtedly add immersion as well.

    Really looking forward to the release of 0.9! (I hope its 1 single file to download) Will 0.9 work well in MP? I really want to fight zombies with my friends
  9. jblackrupert has a point, but a good part of that demographic is all of us can actually go and buy OA since we have jobs. I expect over 90% of the community will move to OA qithin 1 or 2 months. Also if you want to see for yourself, download Yoma AddonSync and in the dropdown box click OA servers, that will give you exactly what you want.
  10. I really enjoy playing the gamemode sahrani life(something life i forget) for arma II. And I could just imagine having drivebys in that.. would be sooo cool!!!

    Your first ArmA II experience?

    I only started playing ARMA II (I have NO IDEA how I had never heard of ofp, arma I, even arma II for so long!) in around august last year. I looked at a video of it one night on some forum, and thought it looked alright so I put the demo to download on steam and when I get up the next morning I tried it and went through all the demos, the funnest one was learning how to use high command, when I placed the move order and watched my platoon go it was incredible!!

    This is a discussion forum and were discussing the game, talk about hypocritical :rolleyes: . Personally I like almost all of ARMA's sounds, except some specific sounds I really do like the modded versions of, for example the bullet snap sound (i think that's what its called) when bullets impact near you, I dont exactly love the default sound heh but I did find a good mod that made it sound a lot better, same thing with running sound.

    If you play any warfare modes you dont need to be any rank or have any voice software to get in your own vehicles including planes.

    Alright JoJo so I already commented on this in the other thread but i've had a chance to try it now so I can tell you what I think. At first I wasn't really sure about this, until I started getting used to it and playing warfare online (that drew me to it in the first place when you were talking about it being good for warfare as warfare is practically all i play :p ). Now I can see all the hard work you've put into it come out when i'm playing, I almost feel like im as fast as an AI commander is with my orders, when I come up against enemy players and their squadrons they dont even know what hit them haha!!! The only suggestion I really have would be for you to make a seperate version for the english keyboards, I read in the readme that some commands I will have to fix myself as you have them set to the norway keyboard layout (i think theres three in total). I went into the vac builder thinking i'd do it myself but goddamn theres so many commands it was actually pretty daunting so i closed the vac builder lol I hope to see you on the battlefield eventually man (even though I probably wont seeing as I live in canada but hey you never know)
  21. It's a free 30 day trial.. if you use it that long and still like it why wouldn't you want to support the devs that worked to create it? its only 20 dollars.

    Buying soldiers ,creating squads

    Well you can assign them team colours. For example if you wanted an AT squad to consist of units 3, 4 and 5 you would select them all, go to team menu select the colour you want and assign it to them. So if you assigned them to team blue, that wouuld now be your "AT" squad. Hope that helps.
  23. Wow man you must have put a lot of work into that! Right now i'm using fishes version but I cant wait to learn yours. gonna take me a bit to learn it though, seems complex, hopefully it becomes second nature like fishes, his was easy to learn becuase i'm so used to hearing the ingame "1, 2, 3..IS...TEAM RED". so it was easy for me to just imitate that haha from reading the readme it looks like this is going to really make ordering my units even easier than with fishes version. Anyways really good job on man :ok:
