No. Its not smooth. It plays at 28-33fps. I'm only concurned with fps because its so low. The only setting that has any effect is the resolution. Which I refuse to lower to 720p. Only cause it looks so horrible. I've used this monitor with other games in 720 and they didn't looks so bad? Anyways. Looks like I'll only be playing the multiplayer...

Also. when my sli viewer is enabled. The bars never go more than half way up and down the entire length? like it's only allowing half the power to be used. Does that mean that my CPU is holding be back? even with an i7 @3.4ghz? should I OC to 4.0ghz? i had it there before but thought it was unessasary.

My drivers are all up to date. I have used nvidia sli viewer. shows both working. But my frames are the exact same as when its off. what are some tweeks people are trying to get sli to work. My i7 is OC to 3.4. is that enough for sli280s?

I was really frustrated last night. I will try some of those mission mods you guys speak of. Could someone please point me in the right direction to download and install those? I love Arma2's game play and would love some well put together missions. Thank you

I love putting 4 hours in a mission only to have my last save point befor the end of that mission become corrupt and freeze 5 seconds after I load it. On the harvest mission. I got 3/4 way through and had the stupid helo pilot crash it into a tree cause he decided to land 100m off mark. Then. Later in that mission when I asked him to drop the squad off next to one of the "X's". The pilot for some unknown reason gets out of the helo? WTF? When I try to send my squad to it they say negative. I cant fly it. and after 1min or so. the commander comes over the intercome and says it's been destroyed. Even though its sitting right next to me? And the pilot is just standing there like an idiot. ......Oh, an hour or so later I'm at the last part of the mission. Just got done driving 15 minutes to get there cause my helo got "destroyed". and I decide I want to save it before I go blazing into Gesko (or whatever its called). What a mistake that was. cause the game froze in mid save and when I restart form that point the game freezes again. I'm so pissed!! If i didnt buy Arma off Steam. I would have pulled the DVD out and frizbied it out the window. UUUGGG! Please Fix For Christ Sake!!!!!!!!!

I'm somewhat new to the forum. but I just saw in the news section that they have confirmed an expansion pack. :eek: That's good and all. It just rubs me the wrong way when the vanilla version needs a lot of work first. I'm sure others that can barely play the game would agree. Expansions have come out on other game before they were perfect. but they were not in the shape that arma2 is in. It wreaks of them just trying to make a buck, not a good product. Great that you would like to expand Dev's. how bout you keep it to yourselves till you get vanilla in even half way decent shape. I'm not trying to bash. I love the prospect of this game. (its on the self for now) I just want to know they are concentrating on vanilla %100.

the game is broken guys. stop waisting your time in the forums (for "fixes") and just play the game with lower settings. If you cant play at all. just put it down for now. This is just advise. An official patch is the only things that might solve you problems. save yourself the headache.

man. I did the "target" that you said. it loaded up really quick. I also disabled HT on the i7. furthermore. turned off vsync. On all normal settings with AA on low and view at 1600. im topping out at 44fps. if i max all but textures, view, hdr off, at 1080 res. Its unplayable at 20fps. something is a little off....

This will help us new to the game. Please. those in the know list the dues and don'ts for those of us new to the game and wanting better FPS. the optimazation thread is 51 pages and 3/4 is people just talking. couple other threads have some ideas and then turned into A2 vs OFP2 debate. please just list some fixes for people to try. they dont have to be %100 verified. I know my way around a computer so just list the things you guys have heard and tried. i'll start 1. turn off Hyper Threading. 2. turn off vsync 3. set maximum pre--rendered frames to 8 in NV Control. 4. lower View Distance etc etc lets compile a list for the new guys (including me) to burn though.
