    Mouse Lag

I could make an assumption from the silence that no-one that had mouse lag in this thread has it anymore. Could someone help me with the steps to get rid of it on core i7 and ATI graphics cards, please

    Mouse Lag

But any of them won't work for me :/ I have an intel core i7 4.2ghz, 6GB ddr3, ATI HD4890. My computer really shoud handle this game perfectly. I have tried different driver versions and win xp & win 7, but with no luck. I hope I'm just missing some important thing. Am I the only one left with the lag?

    Mouse Lag

I tried zero values first, but noticed that Arma2 filled the values with defaults. GPU_MaxFramesAhead became 1000 and GPU_DetectedFramesAhead was 3. By settings Max.. to 1, Detected becomes 1 also, but the lag is still about 10-15 frames. Bad bad bad :(

    Mouse Lag

Has this issue been resolved for you guys? With 1.04 and latest patch, GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1, I still have the exactly same lag. This thread has been silent for a while, have you just got used to the lag or what?

    Mouse Lag

EDIT: oh, I didn't see there was posts already about this patch, sorry. A new beta patch has been published. I haven't tested it yet, but will do later today. There is a command line parameter "cpuCount" that should be tested with value 1 to see if it makes any difference ("cpuCount=1"). I guess it does the same thing as setting the affinity, but we'll see about that.

    Mouse Lag

Oh, I was already pretty certain that this would be the one and only fix to completely get rid of it. For me it worked 100%, no mouse lag at all, just as playing any other first person shooter.. I guess it would be good to gather up specs of those computers that has no lag with 1 core and those that still has. I bet it would help BIS to figure out what is causing this. With 1 core no lag: Intel i7 920, EX58-UD3R, ATI HD4890 1GB, 6GB ram. Hyper threading ON: 1 core: slight lag 2 cores: starting to be unplayable 4 cores: a pain Hyper threading OFF: 1 core: PERFECT 2 cores: playable, but hitting 2 targets in a row becomes difficult 4 cores: a pain I had the prerendered frames 0 all the time. I would love to know the reason for this bug, how can it be so hard to get real time mouse & keyboard data to the game engine, I don't get it. PS. It's easier to disable cores from BIOS than modifying the process affinity. It might be that changing affinity from the Task Manager won't apply the changes in some cases.. I'm just hoping so much this affinity thing would fix the lag in every computer so that it would be easier for BIS to pinpoint it..

    Mouse Lag

I did not read this thread at all, I read only the other one that discusses about this same problem. In the first post of this thread it says that changing the process affinity to use only 1 core eliminates this problem, and so it does. (Also set the prerenreder frames to 0 or 1) With 8 cores (4 with HT) it is horrible, but by disabling HT from BIOS and running Arma2 with 1 core only makes mouse movement perfect. Although FPS will decrease dramatically, it is more playable anyways. 60 FPS with 300ms mouse lag vs 25 FPS with no mouse lag, the latter is much much better. Edit: I updated this info to http://dev-heaven.net/issues/show/3081 too. I hope BIS will check it when fixing this issue.

    Radiosound + Mouse Lag Problem

Wow! That is great news! I hope they could get a machine where they could reproduce this problem. Someone said a few pages earlier that only a few of us are reporting the mouse drivers etc what we are using when having this issue. This info might be useful for BIS if they read this thread, but there has been so many people complaining already that I wouldn't be surprised if this would happen and not happen in two exactly similar computers with two different users :annoy: My setup: i7 920, EX58-UD3R, ATI 4890, 6BG ram, Win7 and a Dell mouse with default windows drivers. When I put all the video options to the max and find a place that has the wors FPS (I could find a place with ~2fps when looking trough a scope, otherwise it was ~40 there, weird), it would seem that this lag is not a fixed count of milliseconds but frames instead. With 2 fps I could count like 15 frames before anything happens when I move the mouse. With 70-100 fps Arma2 is playable, because the lag is just 100-200ms, but anything below 60 makes it horrible ::mad: Someone, send your lagging machine to BIS hehe! EDIT: When Arma2 is loading (still at windows screen) change the process affinity to use only 1 core. This eliminates the problem completely!
