  1. Love the mod SaOK! One quick question: Is it possible to order an aircraft and have it delivered/spawned so that it can be used be my team and I? I read earlier in this thread that you need to capture an airfield and then order it through the MIL menu. I have done this, but there are no aircraft listed. I'm playing on Chernarus and am at the NW airfield (I've captured the NE one too).

Hi everyone, I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but I was wondering if anyone would be able to make an addon that replaces the Little Bird's sounds with the sounds it had in the alpha? I personally think that it sounded a lot better then, especially the start up sounds. All I guess it would take is someone having access to the alpha's old files and selecting the relevant .pbo's and putting them together as an addon.

    OK can now get it started by removing that basics line from the sqm but when I start the mission and go outside at the base, there is no hangar, I must be being a complete idiot! I am good at that <--

    Did you install the addon that comes with the download? If not, create a folder in your main TOH directory called "@Moach" and inside it create another folder called "Addons". Then open the folder inside the Heli4Hire folder you downloaded called "Addon (install pbo file as mod)" and copy the .pbo file to the "Addons" folder you created in the "@Moach" folder. Then launch the game and click Expansions in the main menu and enable "@Moach". Restart the game and you should be good to go. Hope this helps :)


  4. Awesome update Moach! This is easily the most in-depth modification for TOH and I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with next :). Keep it up!

    EDIT: So I have had a chance to play around with the latest version of the mod and it is looking pretty sweet. I also have a few suggestions:

    - Would you be able to set a permanent waypoint on the heliport so that when we complete a mission we can quickly set it as our current waypoint and follow it back to base? This isn't really a biggy since it isn't that hard to navigate back using the map, but it would be a nice option to have anyway :)

    - With the addition of the hanger screen, we really need some sort of basic saving system so that we don't have to keep customizing our choppers each time we go to fly. I have no idea how easy/hard this would be to implement but it would certainly be a welcome addition (I know it is already planned)

    That's about it for now. Oh yeah before I forget, today I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with the cargo missions! I always assumed that when you picked up the logistics crew you had to fly to the cargo tower and pick up the load there and then take it to the cargo base; I never thought that in some missions you had to pick up the cargo at the cargo base lol.


  5. Hi Moach,

    I'm trying this for the first time, is there a way to remove doors? I don't see it in the customize list.

    You have to do it in the editor screen before launching the mission by using this animate ["addDoors", 0]; in the helicopter's init box. Hopefully Moach will add removable doors at some point down the line as it would be a nice feature to have, but for now, that is the workaround :)

    I am sure this has been covered before but when I start in the hanger I walk to the helicopter, get in start it up but I can't seem to get any further.

    I click on the map but what next. I dont seem to get any tasks appear in the top menu. Press the 0 key for radio comms but nothing happens. I assume the blue H's on the map are the tasks.

    In order to get missions you must get into your chopper and turn the ATC (radio) on and then go to your map and click on the radio that appears. Then select "Check in" (or something similar). Then base will periodically update your tasks section of your journal that you can accept. Hope this helps :)


  7. Hey Moach, your modifications to the Light heli have seriously interested me as I am determined to make it as similar to the MD500 as possible! I was wondering if you would tell me how to go about switching a few of the engine sounds for my own custom ones? I unpacked sounds_h.pbo in the Addons folder and found sound files relating to the Light heli but when I tried to replace them with my own (I converted them to .WSS etc) there was no change in the sim. I'm not very experienced with making addons for ArmA/TOH so any insight you could provide would be appreciated :)

    Also, regarding the sling loading missions, I am still having trouble getting them to work correctly. As I said above, the missions sometimes work correctly, but it is the missions where I am told to do a fly-by of the cargo base and the cargo tower that things go wrong. Basically I get told to do a flyby and my waypoint is set to the cargo base. I fly there and nothing happens, the waypoint doesn't change and the cargo doesn't spawn. If I get out and attach a cable I get a message saying something along the lines of "ok let's go over this again... you need to attach your sling to the cargo.. blah blah blah." Sorry to keep bothering you about this haha :) Keep up the good work!

Alright, so I have another sling loading mission related question: I have just met with the logistics crew and been told that it is highly advisable that I do a fly-by of both the cargo tower and the drop off point. My current waypoint is set to the cargo drop off point so I fly there. When I arrive, nothing happens and the cargo doesn't spawn at the tower. What exactly am supposed to do in this situation? Is this a bug? BTW, it is only this type of cargo mission I have trouble with, all the others seem to work fine.


  9. The project is very much still alive, definitely. I haven't had much time to work on it myself, but I know Moach has been at it almost every day.

    We haven't pushed the latest changes to the master branch because they're still somewhat unstable, and we didn't want to break things for everyone.

    About the slingloads, you can release the cargo using the Rope Interaction key (2xR by default). However, that key sometimes doesn't respond immediately, so you'll probably have to spam the R key a little, until you hear the 'click'. Then, a hint will let you know if the cargo landed nicely or crashed.

    It's good to here that the mod is still active! I've been having a lot of fun with it lately and as i said before, it would be a shame to see it become inactive as I believe it has a lot of potential :). Thanks for the help regarding the sling loads, hopefully this should make my life easier!

  10. Hi guys, I am having a problem with my Saitek Pro Flight throttle (which I have converted into a collective). Basically I have set it up in game and everything seems to be working correctly except I cant lower it below half when flying. When I lower my home made collective all the way, the one in game only goes to half way. I can however lift it all the way up.

    Basically, this is what I see when my collective is all the way down:

    Does anyone know how I can fix this?


  11. Hi everyone,

    I have built a custom collective using the Saitek Pro Flight yoke's throttle and I was wondering how I would effectively half the distance needed to go from idle to full throttle? Currently the Saitek throttle has 90 degrees of motion but I would like to limit that to the first, say, 45 degrees (45 degrees being full throttle as opposed to 90 degrees being full throttle). Does anyone know if this is possible? I hope I have been clear, I couldn't really figure out how to word it!

  12. Has there been any progress with the mod lately? I'm really enjoying it and hope it doesn't become inactive :). Also, I have a quick question about the sling loading missions. When I take the load to the drop off point and am supposed to disconnect it, do I have to lower the load to the ground and then land next to it and get out of the chopper and manually disconnect it; or can I just hover with it on the ground and press a hotkey or something that disconnects it automatically without me needing to land next to it?


  13. Thanks for the reply Moach, but I am still having trouble figuring out how to get it to work. When i get in the heli and turn the ATC on I don't get any extra options to do with calling in. I do have two options called "D+D: Log Position [RZ]" and "D+D: Log Position [LZ]" but I'm not too sure what these are for. Also, when I try to save my career progress in the hanger I get an error message saying: "Script HW_Savegame.sqf not found". Is this simply because I haven't been able to do any missions yet or is this a bug?

    Keep up the good work, it's looking very impressive so far!
