  1. Hmm...thanks for the clarification on the first aid thing but I'm still a little confused about the weapon pool and copytoClipboard. How would that work, going from one mission to the next? Could I use it to copy the contents of the box, then paste it into the init of the box somehow in the next mission?
  2. Hi all, I found some weird issues with some editing I've been doing recently... 1) If the first aid-simulation module is running, casualties show up twice. For example, under the map>statistics menu, Casualties: John Doe x2. Wondering if there's any fix? More importantly though... 2) Weapon pool is doubling ammunition and weapons when going from mission to mission. Some friends and I were running a short campaign I made, one of the premises being that the gear we took during the first mission has to last us x amount of missions. I have a single crate (named box) that we put all of our gear into, and then the end trigger includes the pickweaponpool box command. The following mission has putweaponpool box in the init. line for the crate. What I found was that if we put 1 M4 into the box at the end of a mission, there were 2 in the box in the following mission. This happened with all weapons and all ammo as far as I could tell. Strangely though I think I (the host and squad lead) was the only one who could see the weapons at all, until I took them out and then put them back into the box. Then all the other players could see/take them. Any thoughts or help on the subject would be appreciated. Thanks, mpatton
  3. Hi, I have a question about using the pickweaponpool command in a trigger. I currently have a trigger set to Radio Alpha: pickWeaponPool box; endMission "end1"; This works well, but it forces all players to put all of their gear into one single crate (named box) before ending the mission. I'm wondering if there's any way to have pickweaponpool take every player's gear (4 total) and place it into one crate at the beginning of the next mission. I will have this set up as a campaign so that weaponpool works, and it will be played multiplayer. Thanks in advance.

Armaholic coming soon. Note: If you get in the RHIB to be used by you for extraction and sail away, yes, the mission will complete. You could by all means do that and finish the mission within 3 minutes, but is that really any fun? Also, be sure to move the RHIB into the marked extraction zone for the mission to end. It's fairly large so I don't expect any issues, but I thought I should point that out. Have fun and leave feedback!   5. Hi guys, 2 problems here. My OA disk hates me and just makes a scratching sound when it's in the drive. I have tried other disks in it that work fine. I was able to install the game a little bit ago but I can't really play it. So someone told me to go for the beta patch, which lets you go disk-free. I did, and it works great, except for the fact that I'm missing Cfg/voicetypes male alternative 05 or something like that. I seem to be missing all of them. So it seems to me for whatever reason the OA male voices didn't install properly. I'd check OA by playing on disk but my disk doesn't work. Is there any way to fix this problem? I'm thinking I need to either switch securom to the online verification (I'm about to go look into that) or reinstall or something...help?

  8. Hi all, I have the standalone version of OA (USA release) and basically the game refuses to launch when I put it in the drive. I place the CD in the drive, it makes scratching sounds and nothing happens. Even if I hit the shortcut, nothing, try to run the CD drive from my computer, nothing happens. If I take the disk out after a few seconds securom is kind enough to inform me the disk isn't in. Basically I put the CD in, wait, take it out, put it back, repeat until the game starts. This has taken me over 20 tries at times to get the game to run. I don't have this issue with other games, and I can't say if it happened with Vanilla Arma 2 since I've been running it without the disk after whichever patch came out. Any help?

  10. Ok...the rundown of a mission I'm making is that after you assassinate someone, you can radio either alpha or bravo to move to one of two extraction points. Basically, when the player radio's alpha, I want one waypoint to activate. Also, I'd like to program a Huey to act the same way. If alpha is radioed, the huey will more to extraction zone alpha, but if the player radio's bravo, then the helo will move there instead. Thanks.
  11. Sure. Set a MOVE waypoint right in the middle of the area of the ambush for the convoy. Create a trigger that encompasses the general ambush zone, and set it to activate when opfor is not present in the area. In the second box (the one that says on act.), put the following: next;waypoint Then synchronize this waypoint in the ambush zone to the trigger. The way this is set up, the blufor will sit in the zone until the enemy force is completely killed off. Sound good?

  13. Maybe a more clear description would help? The blufor/opfor thing should have worked; I use it all the time... Take a USMC rifleman, set his rank to the highest one available, and set his probability of presence to 0. Then take the civi, set his rank any level lower than the USMC rifleman, and group him to the rifleman. Do the same thing for the other civi, except use a Russian rifleman. The two should target.
  14. Hi all, I want to improve my machine to get higher frames and better graphics, especially with Operation Arrowhead coming out. So, what kind of stuff works with arma 2? I'll list my specs later, but I'm looking like, should I upgrade processor, GPU...basically what'll get me the biggest performance boost? Current system: -2 gig RAM, upgradable to 3 I believe -AMD Athlon 64x2 4200+ (dual core, clocks in at 2.2ghz) -Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS w/256mb total memory -Monitor goes to max of 1280x1024, so I don't need a monster GFX card to keep up -Budget: $250 more or less a bit. Try to stay around there in suggestions. I feel like the graphics card is what's holding me back worst right now, although I have heard ARMA is quite CPU demanding. So any suggestions? Thanks.

So I believe I'm in luck? If that's the case, then would the better performance increase be in the CPU and GPU upgrade you listed earlier? I haven't gotten around to the tweaks (I've actually got some time, so I'll get on it now) and I'd rather avoid OC'ing since this is TECHNICALLY the family computer. Even though I'm the only one who uses it I'd rather not screw it up by mistake.

  19. Hi, I'm a newbie to online who just got a new headset. I don't have vent or xfire or whatever you guys use but after I found a good squad I'd be glad to make one. I'm looking to do infantry work, but organized stuff with planning and where the teams stick together. I'm based in Eastern US. Oh, and I like running ACE2. I feel like I just filled out an online dating profile :confused:

  21. @Khugan: Glad you enjoyed it! As a matter of fact I have another mission in the works...but I can't reveal too much of it yet ; ) @yanquis: You got lucky then huh? Good timing. As far as it being chance, yes and no, he does have a set route that you COULD memorize if you played the mission enough. Im wondering if the choppyness could be caused by the amount of units I have it Strelka wandering along. Although there's really not THAT many people, it could be playing a factor.

    Why did you switch back to the M16A2's? The M4 is the standard rifle now, and I very much liked the models you had before.
  23. What if you spawned an enemy soldier and set the probability of presence to zero, then grouped the animals to said soldier? It works with infantry.
  24. @Dissaifer I wasn't able to recreate your bug on my end. You do know that if you reload a magazine that isn't empty, it won't decrease your magazine count correct? And from then on you'll keep loading your most full mag. ex. You are about to reload a 15 round magazine, you have 4 total, so your HUD is 15|4. You reload, it changes to 30|4. Until at least one magazine is empty, that 4 will stay a 4. Maybe you're misinterpreting that?
