I have a question about the new Hot Fix and reverting to begin a mission again. Just prior to starting "Bingo Fuel" I found out how to play the side missions and have completed 3 or 4 and collected several trucks full of gear (all in version 1.30). Will the trucks & equipment I collected during side missions be preserved if I have to revert "Bingo Fuel" under the latest 1.32 hot fix? I just used the beta code "Arma3Legacy130" to complete a side mission and have returned to the base. Is it safe to start using 1.32 to continue the mission or should I complete "Bingo Fuel" first?

Upgrading my pc I just came across these files. They are in flv format and total 1.73GB. Can someone tell me where to place server keys for addons? I see there is a keys folder in the ARMA 2 folder but some of my addons have created their own keys folder while others do not create a keys folder but just place all files together in a compressed file (rar, 7s zip etc). Most of my addons are placed in a folder beginning with @ in the ARMA 2 folder. So does it matter where I place the server keys? Can I create a keys folder as a sub folder of those addons that require/supply them and place it in there OR should they be put in G:\ARMA 2\keys\*.bikey I prefer the idea of having them all in a sub folder of the respective addon e.g. G:\ArmA 2\@Desert Mercs & BlackOps\keys\SchnapsdroSel.bikey

I'm trying the Landing mission in version 2.51 and I keep getting interrupted by "Sound Ambiance_Sound6 not found". Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Great work there Baz that must have taken you a lot of time. I just downloaded them to my hard drive before watching so I can watch them as often as i want without any limits. -
I think the server needs to be patched to 1.10 AND not be running any addon mods for Arma 2 Free players to be able to join?

I think he means key 2 (above q w) which is the default key for the "Target" menu. Pressing ~,6 would select all team members and then the action menu. Usually you would just select your gunner (often F2) and then 2 to bring up the list of targets he has available. -

@PurePassion Thanks for the link. I remember that I used to use -winxp but I see that was because I had an SLI setup when I first started with ArmA 2. I might try -nosplash -noFilePatching -world=empty and see if it makes any difference. @orlok Thanks, I was a big fan of "Alpinestars - Arma II Launcher" but as development of that has stopped I'll take a closer look at Armarize launcher. -

Newbies? I agree they are much improved over the earlier ones. I had played ArmA 2 for month's and the OA Boot Camp taught me several things I never new I could do in Arma 2 !!

Hi all, Just getting back in to ArmA 2 after a years break and wondering if its still recommended to add any command switches at startup? I've patched to 1.10 but I remember there were some memory, cpu count etc that I used to have in the desktop link and then later with selected Alpinestars Launcher. What if any are the current recommendations? I'm starting over with ArmA 2 to get back into it but already have OA and Reinforcements. -
Error compiling pixel shader PSSSSM Specular Alpha:1 after 1.03 Patch

After installing the 1.03 update I could not start ARMA2. At startup I would see the row of ticks followed by a brief black screen then a CTD with an error message window stating "Error compiling pixel shader PSSSSM Specular Alpha:1". After some searching the internet I could not find the same error message but reading about other "Error compiling pixel shader" errors I ended up reinstalling version 1.01 from dvd and patching that directly to 1.03 which seems to work. I was some way through Badlands before the 1.03 update and cannot resume the mission but a revert seems to be working so far. Thought I'd post this if any others are having the same error. System specs at the time were: Win XP SP3 32bit NVIDIA GeForce Driver Release 190.38 (and tried 186.18 WHQL) Intel i7 920 CPU Gigabyte EX58 Extreme MB 2 x Gigabyte GTX 260OC's in SLI 6Gb DDR3 Corsair XMS3 triple Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultima Water Cooling System -

I see Nvidia just released a new Beta driver (195.39) but I didn't see any reference to ArmA II improvements. I won't get a chance to test them until tomorrow evening. -
I read that as soon as you set Visibility to 10,000 that it automatically reduces some of the other settings (even though it lets you select higher than it displays). Does anyone know if this is true and if so which settings does ArmA II reduce and at what visibility range do they start taking effect?

A lot of us have turned post processing off for better frame rates - would that effect the use of blurring the screen or can it be done with it turned off? -

+1 for this request. I overcame this problem by using "NTFS Junction Points" - works fantastic!A free utility to make junction points is Link Shell Extension. -

Put the file called "MAVERICKSU_BB_v09EN.Chernarus.pbo" directly in the folder called "Missions" which is located in the Arma 2 INSTALL path. My Arma 2 Missions are located "G:\ArmA 2\Missions\" You should extract the Extra_units_vehichles mod into the main ArmA 2 folder (e.g. mine is "G:\ArmA 2\@Extra_units_vehicles") which if you have done it right will contain a sub folder called "addons" which will contain 4 files. You will need to start ArmA 2 with a command line -mod=@Extra_units_vehicles to play this mission OR as I prefer use Alpinestars - Arma II Launcher which makes using mods VERY easy.

Only snag there is that there is no UPGRADE from the pre-release to the retail version if you believe Microsoft. I read that I'd need to do a complete format & re-install with the retail version when its released?
