Sure but it is what we don't know that is the most important! :DAnd if you have checked then we can probably rule out the audio message within the map option, unless of course you're a spy! ;)
-
There could be audio messages hidden within the pictures he has provided (as suggested eearlier by someone for the other pictures).I agree that almost anyone could be involved hence my "we can't rule anything out" so i'd welcome anyone to follow what I or anyone else has posted for leads. Nothing is getting out of hand, why should someone on a forum care if they are suspected as being a part of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternate_reality_game The 'puppetmaster' of the game is likely to remain behing the 'curtain' at least until the game is finished anyway, so it's unlikely we'll have BIS step in to "clear this up".
-
Really, you have no need to defend yourself, like I said it is nothing personal and in terms of the arg I am merely pointing out that people should not rule out any possibility until the game is finished.
-
Again, it is only irrelevant if he is not an employee. If he were (and we have no way of knowing) then there could be hidden messages within material he has provided. I'm not saying that he is, but whether he is or isn't could very well be relevent to the arg, you wouldn't know - that's my point.
-
Actually i've got to agree with AstroMan, everything should be looked into. It's not that I don't believe he is genuine, it is nothing personal, it is just the nature of the game.If I were to drive two hours each way to check it out i'd definately want a souvenir.

Did you put it under UV light to check for hidden messages? Did you check for fingerprints? We could be missing some vital informations!

I'm secretly hoping he found a dvd and when he takes it home and puts it his computer it will just be a video of Rick Astley.

I actually went and buried that there just to mess with you. :)

ARMA 2: OA beta build 78183
armapaddy replied to PogMoThoin's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
That sounds great, +1 from me. Even though I normally use freetrack there have been times online when I accidently alt-tab out while looking for targets and by the time I got back it would be too late and I would crash the helicopter. What button would you suggest? Alt is in the perfect position for free-look. -
Have retail OA, can I dl the PMC expansion on Steam?
armapaddy replied to postman84's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
He clearly said he has the retail OA, so there is no contradiction. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=111058 The answer seems to be no. You should buy and download it from sprocket. -
It does make sense because you are shooting twice the amount of bullets in the same amount of time so you are more likely to hit your target when you fire.

Dynamic View Distance (DVD)
armapaddy replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
After a little testing and tweaking i've got some settings which i'm very happy with, this is a great little addon for keeping framerates up when things get busy. I actually set my minimum framerates to 2000 which gives me smooth performance without really noticing the view distance changes so much. I know it will benefit some people more than me but it's nice for my framerate to be able to go right up to what it can do 90% of the time rather than trying to find a middleground. Gives me the best of both worlds so thanks again for this! I know what you're saying and I had thought about that before posting the suggestion but I think if you implement it the way the scope is done then it could be better for everyone. The people with better systems can afford to lose some framerates to allow them to enjoy the greater vd while flying and the people with systems that might struggle won't suddenly find themselves with a sub 500 vd when things start to get a bit busy. The default rate can be set to 1x so it won't affect anyone who doesn't want to use it. -
Dynamic View Distance (DVD)
armapaddy replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Nice idea for an addon! Downloading and testing it out now, thanks. :) I have a suggestion if it is feasible/not too hard to implement: It would be cool if you could have a similar option of using a multiplier to increase view distance when you get into aircraft, just the same as how the binoculars/scope multiplier works atm. -
Well because it could be more accurate with kinect because of the 3d camera and you could use it in any lighting conditions.
-
The only reason you have to be 6ft+ away from the kinect on xbox is so it can track your full body. If it was used to do what trackIR does then you would only need your face to be within view, which kinect could do very easily sitting below your monitor using its motors to point at your face.
-
You'll notice that in the F-35 that the HUD does move with your view because IRL the HUD is mounted on the pilots helmet but for other aircraft it wouldn't make sense for the HUD to follow where you're looking. Press the button to disable TrackIR or change your settings so you have a bigger deadzone or change the sensitivity so you don't move as much when facing towards the centre.
-
Official PC drivers: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/10/primesense-releases-open-source-drivers-middleware-for-kinect/#continued Looks like it could be fast enough to me.
-
Haha...work for the company, do you? ;) From what i've played with kinect so far and the great results with headtracking using facetracknoir (which uses just a normal webcam), i'd say some pretty great headtracking software could be created using kinect. Sure, it may never be quite as accurate as a dedicated piece of hardware but to be honest, it doesn't have to be. Kinect is already cheaper than trackIR and it has uses other than headtracking, plus you don't have to clip anything to your head. Lets not forget, we aren't close to seeing the true potential of kinect yet - there is an update coming out for the 360 soon to increase the data transfer rates and double the current camera resolution; enabling it to track wrist and individual finger movement. Give people some time and some really great things will be made. I personally cannot wait to use kinect for headtracking in Arma 2.
-
You should probably post your current settings as well as your hardware. I think enabling vsync and reducing view distance are most likely to reduce it (though i'm sure you have tried that). I get it with a 32" Samsung TV but not with my 20" LG tv/moniter, but i'm guessing your moniter isn't the problem.

Remove hand signal for dead squadmembers.
armapaddy replied to mjr.hassle's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Yeah, i've definately noticed this before, quite annoying. On a somewhat related note, when you are using a laucher and get shot (but not killed) you cannot escape the enemy fire because you need to be able to walk to carry it. You go through a series of animations where you go prone/crouch/go prone before getting killed. You shouldn't have to switch weapon, go prone and roll to get into cover in that situation. Dropping your current weapon should be as simple as the push of a button. -
Just downloaded and the curves UI etc. look great. Can't wait to try it out, thanks a lot V4Friend.

I tried this out way back when it was first posted and though I thought it was cool and had great potential it wasn't really feasible to use because of jitter etc. Just downloaded the updates and had another go today and it has improved so much. Thanks V4Friend & ronski! Look forward to the next update. p.s. you can add the Philips SPC230NC to the list of compatable webcams. Works great. Also worked with a Trust WB-1400T.
