So i downloaded the six updater...and ran the web client, clicked ACE (Vanilla) Install, and then opened up the console version of it, and it has been downloading and installing loads of things, is there anything else i need to do? or should this pretty much install it? its done now, so how would i know if ACE has installed correctly?

i havnt played arma2 since about october when my clan split up, I just patched up the latest version and want to add ACE. What exactly do I need to download in order to do this?? I know this is a huge noob question, but the answer would help out huge.

ok so i have completer these tasks find the evidence destroy the house secure documents now i go to inspect the FOB, i kill all the guys at the bottom of the hill, i make it up to the waypoint, and see the dead marines, i run around, all over the base, i see the local militia come in, and then NOTHING HAPPENS, i have run around for about 10 mins, if i move to the very rear of the base, i get shot, if i move my men to the exact spot i get shot, they are fine, then i move their, and get shot if i call the helo to extract, we die instantly when we get into the helo WHAT IS GOING ON?? anyone else have these same problems? ---------- Post added at 11:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:21 PM ---------- the men come all around me, but i cant talk to any of them, at this moment, i am kneeled with my team, EXACTLY on the waypoint spot. If i go too far south or east i get killed by no one, if i call the chopper i die, wtf do i do???? am i at a point of no return?

I am having issues,i am using the steam version of arma. I installed the mod, and when i went to load into the game i received a message saying Addon 'GDTModHDR' requires addon 'Extended_Event Handlers' can anyone please help me?? I am patched to 1.03 also with the other GDT NVG Fullsceen mod, it only displays it in 4:3. on my widescreen display i get side bars....anyway to eliminate that?

haha, when im in game, my guys are constantly grunting and wincing, even when they are perfectly fine?? does anyone else experience this?

i never talked to a marine, they were all dead when i got up there im restarting and am going to try to make it up to the base without engaging the guys at the bottom

woot! just beat this and wow, now i see why its so big, after completing that, i feel like i can control my team to do ANYTHING, i lost my air strike, so my last battle at the main base was epic! it was amazing, it took me about 2 hours to move through it, strategically moving from side to side, slowly eliminating the opposition, god, this game is truly amzing, all the frame dips and everything stopped after chernogorsk, and now i just have smooth, amazing gameplay, with stunning graphics!! ---------- Post added at 10:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:03 AM ---------- wolfbics, you have to move very very slowly, keeping you team prone at almost all times, i start on the ridge right in front of the dam, then i worked slowly toward the right, running through the open field and to the trees opposite, then i slowly work down, covering behind trees and leaning out, switch to the marksman to make some key kills, then move down aorund, save A LOT, i died a lot, but was able to make it work, and the reward was AMAZING, it felt so good, and realistic, and just awesome to win that battle

ok so i rocked the first parts of harvest red, the forest part, the air strikes, then when i get in the BIG TOWN, everything goes to shit, my fps starts dipping and jumping all over the place, but beyond this, i cant go anywhere, i get shot, i have no clue where from. In the other ones it was great cause targets were spotted out like 50% of the time, the others were easy to pick up with Night vision in the forest. But in the city, im fine, and then all of a sudden my entire team is dead, i dont see anyone, ive played the mission about 15 times, and seen/killed only one person, can ANYONE give me any advice on this??

any word on when BIS is coming out with a new patch to fix all of the MANY problems with this game?

i am playing the campaign, and am at the part of harvest red where i am trying to find lopotev. I am curious how on the map i can set a waypoint, so when im driving and whatnot i know where it is i am supposed to go without constantly looking at the map??

everytime i order my men into a vehicle 2 has to drive, and everyone else piles in, if i drive and then order them in, #2 will not get in the vehicle, how do i make it so i can drive?? and be #1, i know i can switch to 2 and drive, but that is a pain, is there anyway the leader can drive?

ok so i bought the game, and was loving the first missions in harvest red, the night one, was awesome, then moving through the city, and so forth. Now i get into the second part, where their are now waypoints, and i am so lost it is not even funny. I ran around electro-blah for awhile, and eventually the mission just ended on me, the only thing i did was meet dressler. now i am in the part of finding sentry posts, and all that good stuff. I made it to gorsk (the only waypoint they provide) i found the priest, and then from there, once again, i am LOST. i look on the map, and there are no waypoints, or any intel telling me where ANYTHING is. I love the looks of the game and im sure its awesome, but since the leader dying, i havnt killed a person yet, and have been running around for about 8 hours so far. I have no clue where i am going, what i am looking, or what the hell i am supposed to do if someone could PLEASE explain how i go about doing things in this game it would be awesome. I am sick of running through the woods for hours, not finding ANYTHERE please please please give me some advice on how to play this game, or what the hell to do. The tasks seem awesome, but i just cant find/complete ANY of them. PLEASE HELP ME, I AM SO FRUSTRATED WITH RUNNING AROUND IN THE HILLS OF CHERNARUSSIA FOR ABOUT 20 HRS STRAIGHT SEEING NO ONE BUT A PRIEST, A FEW TOWN FOLKS, AND MY MARINES

hahaa, good call, i find it so damn hard to kill anyone or complete any objectives, in that last part, the only i lost lapotev, and the other guy, the only objective i met was to find dressler. I also have killed like 4 total people in the entire thing, I LOVE THE REALISM, i am just wondering if anyone else is struggling to grasp the controls, and ability to move your team efficiently? i got a radio saying that lapotev was headed near the russian border in a red car.....looked at my map, i had no clue where that was, or where i was supposed to be going

hmmmmm....i get HUGE dips in fps, causing chopped up and stuttered gameplay, and im def not the first to experience this some reccommend running only 2 cores instead of all 4, turning HT off, all kinds of things, ill be rocking at like 40 fps, then drop down to 17 for a few seconds, than back up, major spikes im on a gtx 275 i7 920 @3.8 6 gb of 7-7-7-24 1600 ram 1080p 23" 1920X1080 what settings do you use? resolution? setup?

so in the first mission, harvest red, the part in the forest, my machine EATS up, i get like 45 fps the entire time. Once i get into the city, i begin to get HUGE frame dips, ranging from 10-45 fps does anyone know how i can smooth that out?? i am running a gtx 275 and have tried turning physx off, vsync off, max rendered frames to 8, turned hyperthreading off do i just have to deal with this? any help would be AWESOME, or even advice, i dont know maybe this is the worst part of the whole game fps wise? i7 920 @ 3.8 gtx 275 gigabyte ud4p mobo 6 gb OCZ Platinum 7-7-7-24 1600 mhz

is the performance much better on xp64?? i may need to dual boot, although ive never done that before

can anyone help me get this baby going?? my system i7 920 @3.8 6gb ddr3 1600 Gigabyte UD4P GTX 275 Superclocked edition 23" 1080p 1900X1080 i have only begun to play this game, i am on the first level, and i cant seem to get any better fps than like 23-30 once i hit the city of chernogosk, or whatever it is. I have tried turning physix off, changing the max rendered frams, turned off v-sync. The game still stutters when i run, or look quickly from left to right....is this to be expected?? is the gtx 275 not enough to run it?? or is there something i can tweak?? is this something that will be fixed with a later patch?? or do i need to go drop 200 and get another gtx 275 and go SLI? this game looks amazing, and all i want to do is play it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
