    holy cow ! You got it up to a whopping 52% , (@ PEAK!) while using a BENCHMARK LOL , what IS your point ? If you're trying to show that the arma engine is not horrible, then you are not helping yourself man :D:D p.s : And OMG @ that resolution ! CPU usage should be 100% on ALL CORES with those low graphic settings !!! And what's that command line about . Do you need to tell the game there's 4 cores available ? I certainly hope not, and you don't because it does nothing.
  2. Try it yourself, hop on a french server. Higher FPS . Problem is though, the french only like to speak french and they're not very talkative at all. Someone can find out why their servers run smoother please ?

    I just played some domi , @ 500 visibiltiy in "zafnor" or whatever city. cpu load: 45% GPU load : 20% Framerate :27 Like i said, game engine is borked , and the devs are not going to fix it. ( i don't think they even can , without making a completely new engine) Mark my words, this is the exact same stuff as Arma 2 . (and Arma 1 for that matter). In a year from now nothing regarding this issue will have changed.

    dude, settings won't affect a thing. You check for yourself man, open up task manager on your second screen, go play some arma. See more than half of your cpu go to WASTE , UNUSED while you're getting horrible frames.

    Look at the cpu usage . 40% . GPU usage : 30% That's the whole point. Come on you can't be that ignorant.

    But why won't BI say if they're going to adress it or not ? I'm guessing not , since it's the exact same problem as Arma 2, but it would still be nice to know for certain, so i can just put this game aside.     55% usage would be fine, if you were playing at 200 fps. But why are you trying to justify a usage of 55% , when your framerate is in the 20's Especially if this has been the case since.... 10 years . vDMdzwanxnY

    How does it even matter in the slightest , when the game uses only 40% of processer anyway. You can try and redistribute certain workloads (if that command line even works) , but it will make 0 difference. In the end, the same 40% is used.
  10. wait, there are "steam performance" issues ? I had no idea lol . I think arma 3 has a bit of a bigger performance issue. Can we get a sticky to resolve those as well please ?

    yeah, and try this to : "-use all resources -be better @ performing - maxmem=20000" I'm just kidding of course, but i'm getting a little sick and tired of these command lines, like it's gonna help if you put in "-threads=7" , like the game then suddenly realizes "oh wait, i can use multithreading? sweet!" This game can't multithread. So adding "-please multithread" in the command line does absolutely nothing.

  16. lol no offense but this thread feels like i've travelled back in time 8 years or something. "set windows to basic" "turn off virus scanner" Are you guys serious ? :D This does nothign on even the slightest of modern pc's .
  17. Are they special buildings ? I mean, you'd think that grass and trees would take a bigger toll , but it seems that walls for some reason make framerate drop immensely. Anyone can tell me why that is ? I don't understand.

    Avoid towns ? City fighting is awesome so NO WAY . Instead : Isn't it possible to just make buildings NOT destructable ? I mean, do we really need that ugly "sink in ground" animation anyway ? Can a server be set in such a way that buildings can NOT be destroyed ?

    You know what, i would be fine with the idea of most buildings (except radio antenna's and stuff) NOT being able to be destroyed if it would gain performance. I mean the animation of a building getting destroyed looks awfull anyway. (it just sinks into the ground and then a ruin pops up, looks horrible). Can't they either make it so that the underground building gets deleted, OR if that is impossible, make it so that most buildings just cannot be destroyed ?
  21. Yeah, there's definately somethng very funky going on with multiplayer . I don't know what to say man join the club. I get between half or 1/3 of the frames in multiplayer compared to single player or running around in editor as well. It's such a shame :_(

  23. ?? Of course it has. The game for some reason is only using about 15% of your total CPU power. oh edit* i see what you mean now. Well, actually it can but not in the way you describe. (not THAT severe) . Install newest nvidia driver (WHQL, not any beta's) , if you already have it installed, re-install it. 1-2 frames HAS to be a driver issue.
  24. It's the low cpu usage problem . Nvidia has a working profile for arma 3 . They are very fast with profiles even the alpha had one .
