THANKYOU! At last I can play ARMA2 without the stupid mouse-lag! YAHOOOOOOO!!!!!

No worries. So I'm stupid now eh? Even when you are trying to say "look its just a wave" you STILL need to be insulting. You should take a leaf from the Egosoft book of how to treat people. I love the X series and yes it is buggy. The difference here is that over at the Egosoft forums they are helpful and above all, civil. When feeling ripped off & then coming to the games official forum only to see mods (not just yourself) really acting quite smarmy is quite infuriating. Go ahead. Ban me for remaining off topic. Flex your "mighty moderators muscles". I hope it makes you feel good about yourself. I've spent 10 years and wads of cash on bug-filled games from BIS. To then come to this forum and notice numerous occasions where mods HAVE been quite rude to people, is the icing on the cake. No more BIS products for me. It took me 10 years & this forum to learn this. Sad really. P.S. I'm not an immature youngster ranting on here. I'm almost 40. I dare say I've spent longer gaming & forumming than the majority of others here. This one hands down is the rudest I've encountered.

Right on. There is an elitist view that comes from the mods here. IF anyone DARE say they are dissatisfied with their purchase it takes no time at all for a smart-alec reply. Ooooh nobody dare make a negative comment about OUR game... Personally I don't give a stuff. There is problems with the game and hiding behind comments like "bye" (basically saying "piss off - you won't be missed"), does not help.

I've just added up how much I've spent on BIS games. Operation Flashpoint, Red Hammer, Resistance, Arma1, Queens Gambit & Arma2. It came to about $600.00. If I'd spent that money on any other faulty product I would have had it changed / returned. Now like I've said - the fact that I keep buying these titles is a testament to the fact that I can see promise there. The problem is it's yet to prove this to me. I have to say I agree with these people complaining about unfinished, buggy titles. How many "full" releases do we need to go through with this lot before we get a playable game out of the box? Operation Flashpoint is almost 10 years old yet I still see the same bugs playing that as I do Arma2. I'm not holding my breath, but I really hope Codemasters do a good job of Dragon Rising. I'm fed up to the back teeth with the substandard tripe I've bought from BIS all these years.

I too have this problem. I'm 38, have played games since the Commodore Vic 20 days. I've used military weapons & understand how to set up a PC (having being employed as a PC tech for the last 10 years). I think I can tell when something unusual is happening. There IS a problem. It can only be described as LAG. It does not happen in any other game I have. The only other time I have experienced this was in ARMA1. Very disappointed to see it carry over to the 2nd release. It's frustrating as my overall performance is fine. I get goods frames & am happy to turn down settings if required. I use a Logitech G7 mouse. I also have an MX510 which I have tried & receive the same lag problem. I've tried with Logitech drivers / Setpoint & without. I've turned mouse "enhanced precision" off and tried = no difference. I've tried setting "maximum pre-rendered frames" to every value there is with no change. No vsync etc. It just drives me mad. I re-installed Far Cry 2. Set all settings to maximum & mouse = smooth. Re-installed ARMA 1 & patched to current = same problem. If this IS a feature implimented by BIS then why can't we have an option to disable it. I can shoot far more accurately with a real rifle than I can in this game. The lag does not simulate anything at all. As far as I'm concerned I treat it as a bug. A glaring bug that has carried over from their prior releases...

Was the campain even bug tested?

I have to admit my frustration at this. I'm starting to feel like BIS are laughing at me whilst bathing in Champagne... I've spent hundreds of dollars on BIS titles. OPF, OPF Resistance, ARMA, Queens Gambit & now ARMA2. I fail to see why I STILL see the same bugs and issues I've encountered all along. Driving is my pet hate. Last night I asked my Marksman to hop in a car & drive to me. A distance of less than 1000 metres. I watched as he turned the car in the opposite direction and proceded to execute a 500 point turn, reversing into the same goddamn tree each time. He then took off across a paddock crashing into a fence and sat there. I went and ate tea. Came back and he was STILL facing the wrong direction and moving backwards & forwards repeatedly. Nowhere near my position. I would guess and say this went on for 1/2 an hour - maybe 45 mins whilst I ate! This is the exact same problem that hgas plagued the series since its inception. BIS state the army use a version of this for training... I can't see the Australian defence Force being too wrapped in this twoddle. Please don't get me wrong though - a testament to ARMA is the fact that I persist with it. Any other game would have been turfed in the bin had I had these issues. My issue is that BIS seem to know that it's avid users will always buy it & put up with stupid bugs & therefore don't really seem to care. I'm no fan of Codemasters, but if OPF2 is a relatively bug free experience I don't think I'll be returning to ARMA. I've spent too much money on faulty products of BIS's as it is. I too feel I should be paying modders for all the fixes they provide! -
Squad Members Won't Enter Vehicles?

I have the exact same problem (along with the horrible mouse lag that people keep denying exists & my team members having completely white heads!). I found that if I let the guys board BEFORE me it wouldn't be a problem. The only issue is that iif you want to man a gun on a Heli etc they usually fill that spot - then refuse to use the gun. I haven't worked out how to get them to swap seats in a Heli yet! :) Same character has the issue - always the stupid marksman!
