Hey for whoever runs that server can you please explain why i was banned on December 12th. I have played there many times since its launch without any problems then yesterday i get banned for no reason. For the record i was not cheating, hacking, or running any mods at all. Your server is one of the few that i love to play on so any explaination would nice.

Are you talking about the Main campaign? cause if you are i wouldn't mind playing some coop in that. My steam ID is JonnyTullwood.

Sci-Fi Arma 2 Mod
Jonnytullwood replied to Hboybowen's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Or what about not going to sci fi but more high tech. Like maybe a land warrior system, light sqaud uavs stuff like that. More future weapons. Like i remember reading something about small rocket pod containing about a dozen or so rockets carried by platoons or sqauds to be used as indirect fire, using laser designaters on the land warrior system. -
Arma 2 Addon request thread
Jonnytullwood replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
What about the a way to use trained dogs to report on enemy positions, or scout for opfor. It could just pass through an enemy held town untouched perfect for reconnaissance. Command them like the AI if at all possible. -
The Arma 1 style of commanding a team
Jonnytullwood replied to moach_mayhem's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Just hold shift then click on any unit in a certain team, then everyone in the team will be selected. -
Yea same here if they can make that supress command functional it would definitely intensify some of the battles.
-
What about instead of just PvP let each player control 2-4 AI or more to make the battles alittle larger in scale. So instead of just classic FPS strategy you bring in the squad element of the game, which in my opinion is the reason for the bigger maps.

In regards to suppresive fire ive seen a command option for it but have never been able to get it to work. When you are controlling AI team with any number of guys selected then simultanesouly press the alt button the command screen on the left brings you 2 new options 1. watch direction 2. supress but everytime i use the supress option nothing happens evern when i hover reticule over the enemy. so if anyone can give me any hints it would be great.

The best way i can think of is in the editor set down your player unit then set down a bunch of sqauds of whatever you want.Just not grouped to you, then go to modules and set down a high commander box then use the synchronize function(F5) and drag a line from it to the unit your controlling. So then when you go into the mission or preview press ctrl+spacebar and a bunch of icons should show up each one representing a group. Its a really cool function about arma 2 you can easily control up to a hundred or more AI but there are some bugs with it so just play around with it abit.

But if you use tricksters way it works on the map screen pretty well.

I think with Arma 2 being able to handle a huge amount of players (human and computer alike) compared to the previous titles alot of people want that bigger scale, more epic battles. Arma 2 has such scope that some of the moments playing the larger scale missions just make your jaws drop in awe. I know I have on occasion.

Yea i hate when you switch from the team leader to another sqaud member and then the team leader opens fire. If only you could set him up like the other ai when you make the switch.

Help with computer specs
Jonnytullwood replied to Jonnytullwood's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yea for this game i dont mind running everything on normal cause it still looks decent its just I would like to have shadows and a good view distance ontop of playable fps. So i just might get a new video card especially since it seems the one i have is my main problem. Thanks for the help everyone. -
So i downloaded the arma 2 demo to test out if i wanted to buy the game since i have loved all their previous titles. For some reason though my computer can barely handle it and when i watch others useer vids they get better performance from a computer with less power than mine. AMD phenom II x4 20 2.8 ghz 6 gig ram 9500 gt Windows vista 32 bit 186.15 Nvidia drivers Everything normal except AA and Anitstropic filt off also shadows off and postproccesing off. 100% fillrate veiwdistance 2000. Yet for some reason everytime i run the demo benchmark i get 20 fps or less. so when i turn on shadows and post-proccessing it gets bumped down to 15. SO this game is really unplayble for me. Any help or suggestions would be great.

Help with computer specs
Jonnytullwood replied to Jonnytullwood's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
wooly back jack i tried your suggestion pretty much everything low 83% fillrate got a 31 but its just not the same. I usually love games just if they have good gameplay graphics are usually not a big concern of mine if its fun. But this game just makes you feel more immersed when running at higher settings. I might try the new Beta drivers and see if that works out but I guess i might just end up waiting alittle bit to get the game. -

So what maybe upgrade to one of the geforce 200 series or maybe the ATI hd 4000 series of cards?
