Texture loading 'lag'/ texture flickering
bigduksixx replied to Sevenblarg02's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Well I have a low spec machine and I don't have any problems. Maybe you need to optimize you rig a bit? -
Don't see who BI can do anything about that, as it's hardware related. You have the option to turn it off though.
-
Still sounds like a hardware problem. My mouse sensitivity is fine, so this isn't a universal problem.

Arma 2 causing rebooting of my PC

Yep, sounds like a PSU problem. -

Nor is it any big problem today to try different setting, update some drivers and wait a few weeks for a patch. The world get whinnier by the day. -
Don't see why not. Troops can strap themselves to the AH-64. Heath & Safety haven't got any say over the military.

ARMA 2 - Seriously bad graphics for a 2009 game
bigduksixx replied to chaos1986's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Not the more complex simulations. People had to do things like edit config.sys and stuff like that in the early 90s. All that under dos, with not much in the way of an internet to find support, yet people manged. How all you get is the sound of a bunch of crybabies, upset because they have to wait few weeks for a patch. -

Clearly you weren't born when Falcon 3.0 was released. And there are lots of other example of complex simulations that were way worse the Arma 2 was at release. You appear to live in cloud cuckoo land if you think this level of simulation will work for 100% of people straight out of the box without some fiddling by the user and some patching by the developer. -
My system is similar but with a 8800gts and it runs fine with everything on normal but with PP, AA turned off @ 1280x768. I get an av. of between 25 and 30 FPS. Glad you sorted it out.

Hehe, yeah, I noticed that. But all he had to do was look at pictures posted on the interweb.Maybe he had trouble connecting. :D These same people who moan that it was released too soon are demanding that the next patch be released before it's ready as well. Oddballs, most of these guys. -
Nightvision bug with Patch 1.02?

Have you forced v-sync off and render 8 frames ahead in nvidia control panel? Also, turn off physx and see what happens -

bigduksixx replied to santino421's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Well, I think it could be headware related. One thing, have you tried setting the texture memory to low? -

Use enditall to kill unnecessary programs and processes and try again. Also check the hard drive to see if it's been defraged. -
Considering buying it now --- what's its status?
bigduksixx replied to NoxNoctum's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Are you seriously trying to tell us that there is no other aspect you're interested in? -
No it doesn't, don't be daft! Seems to me you have a lack of understanding on this issue. Copy protection does next to nothing to prevent piracy. Activation is much better. This is the 21st Century and you shouldn't need to put a plastic disc in a drive to play a game.

bigduksixx replied to NoxNoctum's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Bit precious aren't we? Tell, you what, let's tell everyone not to buy, cause the release to be poor financially, see support the the product stopped prematurely and then pat ourselves on the back for a job well done. :j: If you want to support this sim then put your money on the table now, not in 2-years. ---------- Post added at 11:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:27 AM ---------- He probably thinks that for 20 quid the devs should come round his house and patch his copy personally! -
Allow shooting from the hip when running?
bigduksixx replied to Chunk3ym4n's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
The military version of ARMA2 doesn't seem to have gaily running and shooting either: -
Ok, why would you want that?

Support this project by buying a copy. It only cost me 20ukp. -
Stuttering and rubberbanding online
bigduksixx replied to randir14's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
You have no proof of that. I see plenty of players moving smoothly around the map. Of course, it could be a drop in quality at your end too. -
DVD should be the same a download, as long as you get a code you shouldn't need the DVD.
