You'll be fine with the 9800GT, the Geforce 7100 is why it was jerky and slow. I have the same specs as what you posted (except cpu which is an E8500) and the game runs great on medium/High settings with AA and AF enabled. (I run it at 1440x900 resolution)

I lost Starforce alright, not shot down, but i can no longer radio them, the command has vanished from the support menu. Second issue is the safe house mission - it wont end, the waypoint is inside the building (which cannot be entered) i kill all the guys around and seach their corpses, but nothing, seems like the trigger is broken..

Yah is obvious right from the very start that ArmA & Arma 2 use a souped up version of the OFP engine, and the physics have not improved at all since OFP, kinda sucks to drive a truck in to sign post or fence only to have it fall over it predetermined way. Dont even get me started on vehicle to vehicle collisions. Also in the visual department, the vehicle damage models look worse than they did in OFP (where they became distorted.) Buildings display damage more accuratley though :) also the alpha channel / 'bullet hole on glass effect' looks really poor and is sometimes invisible depending on the lighting. Some GTA 4 style damage modelling and Physics would have been perfect for ArmA 2. For some reason this is something that all simulators seem to skimp on.

You call ballshit? While the Campaign is pretty sloppy, its no where near as unplayable as you make out. If you were really a dev then you should be able to understand the complications of having a dynamic enviroment like Arma, (as opposed to having everything scripted and linier like C.O.D.) There is bound to be some anomalties because its simply not possible to test every approach that a player might try - the possible combinations are infinate. Ditto for PC hardware so I'm not even going to bother discussing it Lawsuit? LOL, if you are not happy wit the game you can return it to the publisher for a full refund. Please explain why they need to compensate you? Imagine if eveyone could start sueing software developers for bugs, we would no longer have a software industry and you'd be out of a job mate. Which Developer do you work for?, what is you role? and what titles have you work on that are so flawless and bug free? Please dont tell us you work on Console or Mobile games. -

Just completed the base camp today, wasnt so hard in the end. Earlier I had aquired RPG launchers with 3 rounds each for all of my squad (except for the machine gunner.) I found these at an ammo box (in the tent) at the outpost just west of the castle ruins - the one with two armed UAZs parked outside. First attempt to take the main base I approached the camps from the east (coming out of the woods) Not bad, but it proved too hard to get a clean shots and track targets. The T-72 chewed me up too!.. So in the end I moved by team around the wood to the northen hill (near the dam) Took control of my Marksman (left the rest of the squad in the wood behind the hill out of harms way). moved to the top of the hill, so im looking south at the base, because of the hill's slope I could even lie prone without long grass obscuring my Scope view. Another reason the north hill is good choice is because the static MG defences are also facing south and south-west so they cant get you. First shot was at the T-72's Gunner, if you miss - or hit the Tank commander insead, the gunner will turn in and probably mow you down with MG fire - so be sure to save the game before you fire off the first round. Once I sniped the gunner, the T-72 was usless, so I proceeded to wipe out most of the camps infantry, a couple of stray soldiers appraoched my position, so I retreated back down the hill to my squad, who promptly killed my persuers. I went back round to the eastern woods (my first approach) to mop up. The BMP on patrol was a bit tricky I destroyed it by standing behind a tree lol - and using 'Peak-a-boo' with the rocket launcher, the crew bailed after 3 hits. I blew away the now disabled T-72 using the same method - (just for the hell of it) The static MG defences were easy I snuck up behind them for some close quarters handgun assination. I had a horrible time pinpointing the location of the Camps leader and an AA soldier - lurking in the long grass. - they kept picking me off. (It was now dusk and they dont show up well with NV goggles if they aint moving) Killed them in the end, then pinched one of their Urals to drive back though woods to my parked Humvee - then back home to the Big Crapple (in the dark with very little ammo left). :) Finally ..... -
Campaign and my Manhatten Mission help needed: (spoiler)

Hi, Ok, so since the first apparent bug? in my campaign save files, I no longer have the services of the UH-1 transport. It was working great for while then - All of a sudden (**poof!) it is no longer avaliable from the communications sub-menu... For the record it has not been shot down or damaged, it simply sits on its fat ass on the manhatten helipad doing nothing. Unlike the UAV which has been destroyed somehow. Kind of a relief since its camera is too crap to actually ID anything on the ground - oh and I was getting sick of my squad spotting and 'calling it out' every 5 bloody minutes. So with no air recon or transport, I got fed up and shot a freindly solider out of his MG equiped Humvee and aquired that as my transport. Not very sporting I know, but if the campaign is gonna betray me, i'ts only fair I betray it back i guess. The Hummer is pretty cool and my Marksmen does a great job as gunner, though i hve had to patch him up more than once. I used the Hummer to clean out the town for the Safe house mission. (Even ran one bad guy over in the heat of the moment) But now I have my biggest problem yet, I cannot complete this mission! Question, how do I 'investigate' the Safe house when its not an open building? I cannot walk inside, so I cant meet the marker/wp which is (yes you guessed it) Inside an enclosed 3d model  So i look for an alternative way to end the mission, in case that's not the right way to complete it, So I seach 'around' the safe house for intel - and then the corpses of the guards protecting it, to be sure i even looked in the nearby Ural just in case, but nothing! What now? grab some heavy weapons and blast the structure into the gorund? might be able to reach the waypoint then at least :j: Any advice would be welcome.... On the bright side - Ive abandoned that mission for now, and have gone to seek out the malitia camps, I destroyed my first BMP today which was fun :D Like OFP and the first Arma, this game is sooo damn good - yet in some places, so damn broken :(
