ACE 1.5 (Advanced Combat Environment) for OA/CO
SimonJames replied to xeno's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Assuming you have all the ACE files extracted to the right directories you can make a short cut to the _runA2CO windows command script and add the start up parameters there. It's the only way I've found to launch mods, I can't get SIX Updater or addonsync to recognise I have CO with steam at the moment. I'm sure there's a way tho, just gonna have to play around a little more. -

ACE 1.5 (Advanced Combat Environment) for OA/CO
SimonJames replied to xeno's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hi, I've recently installed the Ace mod packs and have them running correctly I think. The trouble is there seems to be a conflict with some functions. Binos and command cross shows no distance/range any more and the rifle sight Zeroing function has gone. Info on my map shows the CBA key binding but none of them function either. I have the ace user config file in my arma 2 root and left it unedited except for the profile name of course. I have the Steam version of Arma2 and OA, my startup parameters look like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\_runA2CO.cmd" -nosplash -showscripterrors -mod=;@CBA;@ACE;@ACX;@ACEX_SM;@ACEX_USNavy;@ACEX_RU There's no posts at client start up showing any errors and I have the full list of ACE inventory in my armoury. Any help would be gratefully received, Thanks SJ PS. I've searched the forums at length but have found no info that'll help with my specific problem. Edit: Versions, CBA_v0-6-0.123, ACE_1.5.1.399,ACE_X_v1.5.1.272, ACEX_RU_v1.5.1.6, ACEX_USNavy_v1.5.1.7, ACEX_SM_v1.5.1.60 -
This is all a lot to take in especially as I'm not all that computer savvy. I've tried all sorts of configurations of these fixes listed and am still getting random CTD. My CTD are preceded by loss of textures and slow down in FPS, I noticed windows side bar clock shows 42% of my RAM being used and it stays filled even after CTD for the duration until I reboot. Has anyone with these problems and similar specs to mine found a "fix" I could try. I have the following so the 8GB fix would need to be altered to suit my RAM ? Core i7 920@3.5GHz 6GB DDR3 tri chan RAM@1333 GTX260(216) 896MB(Factory OC) - GPU: 621MHz, Mem: 1000MHz, Shader: 1350MHz nVidia Driver Version 186.18 (roll back did not fix):( Arma 2 config: language="English"; adapter=-1; 3D_Performance=100000; Resolution_Bpp=32; Resolution_W=1600; Resolution_H=1200; refresh=60; Render_W=1600; Render_H=1200; FSAA=0; postFX=1; HDRPrecision=8; lastDeviceId=""; localVRAM=1745850369; nonlocalVRAM=2147483647; I've tried all sorts of fixes listed already but no combination seems to work, what should I concentrate on. Not knowing what I'm doing, I may make things worse adding the wrong switches and/or trying fixes I should not be using ? Thanx in advance or your patience and input:confused: Edit for more clarification: I tried in-game GFX on low, medium and high setting and different combo's. The 'Shift -FLUSH' command works but I can't always catch it in time before I CTD. Frames rates are good at higher settings but CTD are more frequent. The larger map also suffers more frequent CTD as does fast ground speed, whether in fligh or on the ground.

Reading the manual it's tells me I can repack the HQ and move it. In reality I can't do this in Bad Lands mission. The manual also says I can change the city logistic/defence ratio remotely through the map, guess what, I can't do that either. The only way to modify the ratio is to visit the city and stand near the capture point, then use the scroll interface. Am I missing something here or are these bugs ?

When in heli, open your map, press space, scroll to communication, hit middle mouse to open transport option, place the map cursor where you want to be dropped and hit middle mouse again. Star Force One should now pick a suitable LZ and drop you off near where you clicked. Make sure the LZ is in the open and away from any possible enemy units. Hope this helps ;)

Download directx_mar2009_redist from the link on page one of this thread. Make a temp folder on your desktop, your documents or anywhere you like. Run the self extractor file and point the location to the temp folder you just created Open your temp folder and run the DXsetup as administrator
