  1. So true. If you run the game below the native resolution of the screen, then the screen will not be able to give the best picture. It will become less crispy, lines and dots will not be 100% clear etc. Now, if your eyesight is abit bad then you might not notice this :) Also you are correct that the graphics card have to work harder with higher resolutions. Lowering the resolution will most likely give you a better performance.. Good luck with the game. (as for the 64bit OS.. you will not notice alot of difference unless you run alot of programs alongside with the game. the game will not use more than 2gb ram regardless of 32bit or 64bit OS) Ill keep an eye on this thread for a few days.

    Mouse Lag

Isnt it evident what he means by latency? I mean it takes so much time for his mousemovement to be pictured in the game that you can see it! (and not just feel it, which would be the case had it been like other games where you get mouselag caused by low framerate) Its not skipping frames, so your DPI suggestion isnt needed. (or else i wouldnt have this problem) USB running at 1.1 or 2.0 wont affect mouse like this, it has never done this to me in the past (with usb 1.1, im running usb 2.0 now as everyone else) Isnt it rather stupid to suggest filming desktop? I mean, have you seen ANYONE with that kind of lag in windows unless somethings hanging etc? As for the speed, well, when you do it fast like that its easy to demonstrate on cam. If you do it slowly you wont be able to see it as clearly as feeling it. This is also obvious. Mousemat not level. Well ok. If it was skipping i would be with you on this one, but you see the video and you clearly see that its LAG and not something caused by the mouse or the pad. Bah, i just dont see why this is anything to discuss , cos it isnt.. Its something for Bohemia to FIX. Bickering about it here wont fix it. And having people like you critizing us for showing how it is wont fix it either. Now if anyone have something serious they want us/me to test out and report feedback on then i will be glad to comply. Hell i would be thrilled. But as it stands, everything ive tried has yielded nothing. Ive been an avid gamer for far too long, ive played most popular games there is, and a TON of not so popular ones. Im an FPS fanatic to the bone. And this behaviour of the mouse is just wrong. The only other times ive encountered this behaviour is in games where i have had VERY low FPS. And i dont have that in ArmA (except in obvious places, towns etc). And the mouselag is 100% persistent. If i had more knowledge i would gladly throw possible casues in here, but my theories im not able to back up with anything so its a waste of time. (Look, im sorry if i come across as a grumpy bastard, but im sick of this. Its ruining my play, and i really want to play this damn game.)

    Mouse Lag

I read half of the pages in this thread. Just signing that i too have mouse problems. SOMETHING is affecting mouse movement. This is not a "clean read" of mouse movement, there are SOME filter in effect (or severe lag in the engine. one of two) The reason some ppl who might have it, doesnt notice it is that maybe they havent played enough FPS games in the past? I saw one person say that "Its supposed to be this way, its ArmA". Well i call bullshit on that. Who makes a game and makes the key feature in the game (pointing your crosshair) a terrible experience? Think please.. Hope this gets sorted, makes me dreading to play the game because i miss like 90% of my shots. Not possible at all to "flick shoot" someone. Specs: Windows 7 x64 RC1 Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 XfX Geforce 8800gtx (186.18) Razer Diamondback and Microsoft X8 (default windows drivers:6.1.7100.0)
  4. *UPDATE* Editing msconfig and setting system memory below 8gb solved my problem. My performance is still a tad low, but textures etc looks like they should now.. Kinda.. :) (LoD still is abit weird, but its no longer flickering, and i run the game around 30-40fps now compared to 20 before)
  5. I did write that i got 8gb ram, and i appreciate the help. I will look into this tonight and see if i can make it work. Will update this thread accordingly. Thanks for all the replies! Im glad that im not the only one with this issue, but also not happy that it exists tho :( (I have not changed any texture related settings on the driver level, only optimized for single display, and played around with prerendered frames (default was 3, tried 0 and 8)
  6. Ugh :( I want to play the game so badly, but im gonna get a seizure from the flickering.. Not to mention the game looks like crap for some reason, like im running it with all settings at the lowest value.. (i got 100% fillrate etc etc but there is no change to the textures, and the trees are mostly blobs:( ) I gotta get to bed now, hope someone answers during night with a magical fix :)
  7. Hum, i cant really say ive noticed it any differently in other games. I record at half size (my resolution is 1920x1200) and i get severe framedrops in all games when i use fraps to record. I always assumed this is because it writes tons of data to the disc and therefore impacting the game.
  8. I get the flickering constantly. Ive tried changing texture resolution from medium to low, ive tried disabling AA and AF, ive tried various resolutions (i play on an LCD so i tend to run at native) and nothing helps. I tried adding a "medium texture resolution" in the cfg file without any change. Ive ordered the full game from amazon so it would be nice to have this fixed before i got it:) I also have the weird mouselag, but its not as severe as some other peoples lag, and i know its covered in another thread so i wont bring that one up here. Is it possible that the texture flickering is related to me having 8gb system ram? And lastly, i dont have this problem in any other game. EDIT: I might add that more often than not, it seems like the game uses the low res textures on things that are close to me, when it should use high resolution textures.. I get about 25-30 FPS with my current config in the MOUT training mission, i expect this to drop significantly in online play with alot of action, but i havent really bothered tweaking settings just yet when im experiencing this problem.
  9. I did a search and i didnt find anything related (1 thread with some "fixes" that didnt help at all:( ) Im posting this to maybe shed some light on this problem, i recorded a short movie with fraps and uploaded to youtube, watch it carefully at around halfway through and you see the ground start flickering. This happens much faster when i dont run fraps, but the program kinda slowed down my game alot..:) So, anyone else have this problem and/or know how to fix it? Looking forward to your reply. ***UPDATE*** Solved by editing msconfig and setting system memory below 8gb
