    Couple of SecOps bugs

Unfortunately SecOps doesn't seem to work properly yet on a dedicated server (it does work on a player-server though). Hopefully it's being worked on as I think that with some work, SecOps and Ambient Combat might help to eliminate a lot of the desync that goes on in servers running large co-ops. Here's a mission (not mine) that uses secops in a co-op mission. Don't try running it on a ded though. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6225
  2. That'd result in everyone desyncing badly though - what I saw was a huge difference in the desync of various clients.
  3. ArmA2 desyncs quite badly for me with the big popular missions on public servers (EVO and Domination). Since these type of large co-ops are popular it'd be nice if the netcode could be optimised using them and a large number of clients on both high and low end connections as a testbed. By looking at my network traffic it appears that for me it seems to be saturating my link (1024/256) by trying to sync the entire world with me constantly (you have a much faster link than me so that's a bit of a mystery). I noticed that about half the server was desyncing badly - I assume that those who weren't had ADSL2 lines. Although everyone seems to suffer a bit when new people join which looks like server load instead. I'd like to have a setting whereby I can tell the game what my maximum bandwidth is and have it prioritise data accordingly. I really need to have frequent updates on units that I'm looking at, or the helo that I'm flying in but I don't really need to know about action away from me. And yes, I sort of got used to desync - I had to, to keep playing. In a large server though I avoid doing things like piloting aircraft or operating a critical vehicle. When I'm a passenger in a helo I just stop looking at the monitor until we're on the ground and the pilot says "all out". Also, find cover and stand still for a while - hopefully the desync will pass. Sorry I couldn't help but at least you know that you're not alone in this. Hopefully BIS will keep working on their networking code, after all they patched ArmA1 right up till after the release of ArmA2.
