  1. Do you have the mod installed on your computer as well? I ran into the same problem a couple of weeks ago. ArmA II doesn't allow for downloading of content, new vehicle models, weapons, etc, from the server. When people connect to a server running such mods, they have to already know which mod the server is using and have that mod installed. Pretty stupid system really. Pretty much rules out using user created content on public servers.
  2. Don't forget to add a missile and radar warning. So we know when to use the flares and chaff. It sucks. You'll be flying along and then suddenly boom dead. Didn't even know the AA gun was tracking you.

Your favourite vehicle in ARMA 2

What is a Raytheon? Edit: On topic, I've been enjoying the Harrier lately.
  4. Anyone know which file controls the contents of the ammo box at base?

    co30 Domination! One Team

Had a question about the domination mission, but was related to the ArmA 2 not ArmA 1. Unfortunately I can't delete my own post, so I edited, and reposted in the correct thread.
  6. Got a question about the mission.sqm file. In there you have addOns[]= followed by addOnsAuto[]= Under each is an array of mods. What is the difference between the two? I had tried adding in new vehicles, the little bird, and just having a couple spawned at the start of the mission. Worked fine in the editor, but could never get it to function on the server. I noticed that it listed the littlebird mod in the addons section, and when people connected it would say they needed that mod. Never could find out how to get people to just download it from the server and wondered if I put it in the addOnsAuto as well would it allow people to download it from the server?

    moving turret turns on engine.

The M1A1/A2 tanks have two electrical zones, hull and turret. The turret is actually moved via hydraulics. The electrical powers the thermal imaging system, laser range finder, ballistics computer, CITV, and the hydraulic pump. If you keep moving the turret pressure will drop and once it hits a certain point the hydraulic pump kicks on. When the engine is on it provides hydraulic pressure, and the electrical hydraulic pump is not used. At some point you're going to have to kick the engines back on to charge the batteries if you're moving the turret a lot, causing the hydraulic pump to keep running. Although contrary to popular believe the M1A1 series are very quite. Especially when just idling. And if you've never heard one before, they can easily be mistaken for the wind howling when heard from a distance. Now some units with the M1A1 started using APU's so that they could sit in tactical overwatch without running the engine. Not because of noise, but because of heat. M1A1 tanks have giant turbine engines, which produce a big heat signature, and suck down fuel. Problems with the APU's above were that they were exposed and could be easily damaged, separate from main fuel, and quite noisy. But they did have a much smaller heat signature and consumed less fuel. I don't know if any units are fielding them yet, but on the M1A2 SEP, and maybe regular M1A2's, they've been working on UAPU. These units actually sit near the engine under the armor and are minature turbines. They do produce heat, but not even close to what the main turbine does. They're also quiet and consume less fuel. Perfect for doing overwatch and you are not going to be moving your tank. Side note. You can move the turret manually and fire the main gun without any power. It doesn’t move very fast and kills your arms, but it is possible.

    M107 & KSVK anti-materiel

You do realize that the video you linked was not shot in Iraq? The soldier is wearing woodland camouflage first off. Plus the fact you have no idea what type of rounds he's using or what he's shooting at. I could reupload that video and call it "Army testing computer controlled exploding bullets". Wouldn't mean it's true.
