bad graphics performance - BiS confirm?
7SD-Toker replied to 7SD-Toker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Funny thing that that the forums and all the threads that reports problems always gets a "it works fine for me, stop complaining" post/reply. What´s really up with that? It should be clear to everyone now that the game is released in a far from ready state. If you buy a product that is presented as a finished game, the game should be finished. Pretty clear I think. I did not pay for a beta product nor to be a beta tester. I payed for a working game. As a consumer I have, and should have the right to expect high standards and be able to complain if these "de facto" standards are not beeing met. As in this case. My point is that BiS should admit that they have quality issues with their product and that they should communicate it open and clear to their customers whilst presenting a plan of action with an expected timeframe for the the completion of appropriate actions (the miracle patch wich takes the game from Beta to Alpha status ;) ). That would be a respectful gestrure to their customers. Sticking the head in the sand is not. -
bad graphics performance - BiS confirm?

my nightmare scenario is that they relase a patch that "just" fixes AI/scripting problems and not gives the "broken graphics/performance" problems the attention it needs. It feels so bad right now as i´m really psyked about the game and having bought it but not beeing able to play it due to the fact that the game is broken as it is. I guess i´ll just have to wait for a future patch.. -
lot´s of people have been reporting problems with stuttering, flickering and bad performance in the game hence they have powerful hardware (above recommended). Problems seems to occour with both ATI and Nvidia GPU and regardless of Windows operating system. The forums are now filled with workaround and optimization suggestions but as I see it there is no "magic cure". The game need to be fixed by some manhours over at BiS rendering in a patch. I want to know if BiS has confirmed that they are aware of these problems and are working on getting them fixed? Anyone knows? I see the buglist that states confirmed AI/scripting problems but fixing those problems feels secondary to me and probably to the rest of the community that has these kind of "showstopper" problems. The game should be playable with "default" settings, ingame and in video drivers just like most other games out there. Customers should not have to spend hours manually trying to fix stuff that should not be broken in the fist place..

No matter what graphics settings i have i always have the same fps
7SD-Toker replied to DLcmdr's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I´ve got the same problems. Vista x64 with 6Gb RAM Intel Q9650 ATI 4870 1Gb. Stutters along at 25 FPS and drops in citys. Graphics flickers and no more FPS whatever settings I try. Hope to get a good patch. -
Well, I wish I could play the game sporting a Intel Q9650 an ATI 4870 1Gb and 6Gb of RAM. I´m getting low FPS ~20-25 that makes the game stutter. I also get flickering that messes up my eyes. Nomatter what settings I use, the result is almost the same +-3-4 FPS and still flickering. Flickering and stuttering makes the game unplayable for me. The game is broken for me. I would like nothing else than be able to play this otherwise supersweet game. If they just fixed the reported graphics errors/bugs ALOT of people are reporting about i´m sure that more people would be playing right now. Sadly I´m beeing forced to lay this game on rest to wait for a "miracle patch".

bad performance - has recommended hardware
7SD-Toker replied to 7SD-Toker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I cross my fingers and hope for a miracle patch. One funny thing is that i upgraded this morning från Dual Core E6600 to Quad core Q9650 and also added 2 Gb extra RAM. That lifted me ~5 FPS! 5 FPS from upgrading from a 3 year old CPU? I´d hoped to rescue bad coding with good hardware to no avail. BIS need to get some manhours on this one thats fore sure. -
Fast PC, but Bad FPS Regardless of What I Do - HELP!?
7SD-Toker replied to Brew Crew's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I get ~25 FPS on my PC wich i consider is bad on my PC wich is a Vista x64 SP1 Intel Q9650 6 Gb RAM ATI Radeon 4770 1Gb (09.6 driver) I´ve just quit 2h gameplay and something about the graphis made me sick. There must be some sort of bad programming here. I play lots of games normally but never experienced this. It also feels like my eyes are bleeding..Need some shuteyes now..:( I´ll pick this game up again as soon as someone over at BIS fixes the problem. -
bad performance - has recommended hardware

This game needs optimization for sure. My PC runs Vista x64 SP1. Intel Quad Core 9650 (3Ghz) 6 Gb RAM ATI 4870 1Gb (Catalyst 09.6 version) I´ve found that neither different resolutions nor quality settings does not affect real performance in the game. Just some FPS here and there but the mainly i get about 25 FPS and drops in citys to ~18 FPS ingame running 1440x900.. There must also be some other stuff not linked to bad FPS, some kind of "invisible" stutter that makes my feel like they are bleeding. I think i´ve soon tried all available settings to get the game running as it should but with no success. My brother with ATI 4870 and with a fast Core 2 CPU and a decent rig also gets crappy FPS. Neither him or me can really play this game even if we are well within the "recommended" hardware spec. Another friend with Intel Q9650/GTX 260 has simular problems. After a 2 hour gamesession i now feel sick and ready to puke..:( Please BIS, prioritize optimization so we can enjoy the game. The game is way to stressful on the hardware as it is now. Unplayable for now..
