  1. I am having a major issue attempting to clone a preset. Basically, what I am trying to do is clone a preset and then add mods to that preset that I want Six-Updater to keep updated. I mainly play SP, so I really just want to choose the mods that I want and have six-updater do the rest. From what I understand, this is what I should do: 1) Clone a preset by right clicking on it and choosing Clone. I have tried to Clone the "A2 OA - A.C.E." preset as well as various server presets that use A.C.E. 2) Then, after cloning a preset, I simply add the mods that I want to it and Six-Updater keeps everything up-to-date from there. I can call my cloned preset whatever I want. The problem is that when I attempt to clone a preset to do this, I get an "unimplemented' message and nothing else happens. If I attempt to add a particular mod to a preset without cloning, the added mod is removed from the presets mod list when the next update check runs. What am I don't wrong, or what do I need to do to add mods of my choosing to presets so they remain there going forward. Thanks for any help.
  2. I guess I will just give in, and go play something else. I have kind of burned myself out on Arma2 playing the Demo for two weeks straight. I guess I lost interest in the game for now since I can't find it anywhere. Oh well, off to Silent Hunter 3 for a few weeks. After that, Hearts of Iron 3 should be released. I guess I might make it back to Arma2 sometime during late fall or early next year. Hopefully it will be in stores by then. Regardless, at least I will be able to grab it for about $20 bucks or less by then. Hope everyone enjoys the game until then.

"ArmA" and "ArmA 2" will never be widely held games due to several reasons. Small marketing budget, and a small developer looking for a small distributor who is willing to distribute his product are the two main reasons for this. This is not putting BIS down, but it is just stating the fact. Furthermore, this game would not be considered a very popular game to the average gamer because it is more of a "Simulation" than a "FPS" game. Most gamers want a "Shoot-everything-that-moves" type games, and would simply become frustrated with the difficulty of playing these titles. "ArmA" and "ArmA 2" really fall into the gaming category that includes titles like "Steel Beast PE", "Microsoft Flight Simulator", and "Silent Hunter 3". It takes quite a bit of time to learn the game.
  4. Please, everyone, resist the temptation to buy from Steam unless you really don't mind buying from Steam to begin with. Don't allow developers to try to force your hands in buying their products the way they want you to rather than the way you want to. If you don't want to buy from Steam, then don't. My guess is that Steam gave some incentive to BIS to allow them to be the sole distributor for a certain number of weeks in the NA market, so this is why we are not seeing the game in Retail stores. By just going along with this scheme simply rewards both BIS and Steam who are forcing their customers hand. The game sounds buggy right now anyway, why not just go away for a few weeks and then check back. This game is not going to be very widely sold to begin with, so if the community gave a huge shout back that we are not going to be forced into something we don't want, this would reduce the chance of this happening again. In the meantime, we would also be avoiding the frustrations associated with waiting for the next patch to come out to fix some of the bugs I am beginning to read about in the forums. Furthermore, the multiplayer portion of the game will not become very active until they get this thing distributed in the US anyway. It is clear, BIS is not very interested in the NA market, so we should return the favor. Let it be known that we are not very interested in BIS if this is how we are going to be treated. Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is sounding better and better everyday now.
