    ARMA 2:OA beta patch 74630

    Ok everyone seems to be having good results with this patch. Well I've got problems. Simpoly put, the story goes like this .... I downloaded the patch the first day it came out. Took awhile and I have cable/Broadban. Installed it nd cranked it up. Worked well as far as I could tell. Went straight to the Multiplayer menu, which though a beta is kind of clunky to me and undressed. Anyway, back to my story. I got into the game with NO problem. Played awhile then logged out. Came back later and it gave me an error. Something about "Noentry.Profile Path Default". It let me into game where I was confronted by blank menues. No words. I took it all the way to what would be the Multiplayer menu and had nothing. Framework of the menu but NO words or text. I backed out and uninstalled the beta and went to Armaholic and redownloaded the game. This time form alternative sight. Installed it and it did the same thing. Now backing up to the install, Windows did alert that it had not installed properly but I've had this before with no bad results. I can still get into the game properly and with full meenu and all via my normal game shortcut. Just not through the beta. I uninstalled it again and delted it. I downloaded it once more, for the third time and installed it and got the same results once more. Got frustrated and deleted the whole folder with out uninstalling it. Yea, I know, not the proper way of doing it. My bad. I downloaded it again today and installed it. Got ALL the same results. Uninstalled it properly this time. Any ideas or suggestions?

  3. What is the MAGNITUDE of switching the "MAIN" Base from South Base to North Base? Can it be done (within a reasonable effort) or is it too much?

  5. Anyone having ties to Dec-heaven I'm having problems logging on to it and I've found no way, so far, to contact them. I have the correct information as recieved from dev on varification via email but it just will not take it.

  7. Don't know. I just figured the new one was specifically for OA or Arabs and not Euros. I'll try again later and let you know.
  8. I went to my Chenraus (please pardon spelling) yesterday and tried to drop the Ambiant Civilian Expansion into it to populate the town just to see if Arab tyoes would work. No people or animals (tried all just once) but vehicles population worked fine. Went back and deleted all and retried the ambiant people and vehicles only. Vehicles ok people no. And this last was with the nromal ambiant people, not arabs.

    They already have a map for you I believe. It's called DESERT......;) P.P.S. Before I upgraded my machine (which many who love/like ArmA cannot do), it was indeed agaonizing to play (spelled very bad frame rates). But now I average 60 so I am reasonably happy.

  13. I tried to post this on your web sight but it doesn't seem to take. But anyway, have you tried this Ambiant civilian/vehiclkes on a loaded dedicated server to see if it lags?

    Digital your works are looking great. And let me say, I'll put the cost of a case of beer or Health drink, your choice for the first to adapt Domination to his new map. Non ACE for my group but ACE also for those so incklined.:bounce3:
  16. Is there a way for an admin to lock down ALL ingame vehicles (or unlock them) on the fly or while in game?

    I'm not sure this is a known bug or what so forgive me if it is. I was trying to repair a chopper on the side of a hill yesterday and each time it slid, unkown to me but observed by my gunner, down the hill a bit and touched me, I died. Is this normal?

    Setting Up a Server

    Ok ... let me continue this forum. I want to run a Dom 2.28 server on my computer for a friend and I. Internet not lan. I am butt ugly stupid on this subject. Hence a request for enlightenment on a 1, 2, 3, or a, b, c, type level. Don't assume I know anything, however I can turn on the computer and double click on an icon. Any takers here?
  19. When I run setup I keep getting "Not a valid win32 application. I've downloaded the .net you showed and tried three different links. From reading the posts I seem to be the only one who can't run it. Any ideas?

    Somewhere in this thread I believe there was a coment on tanks being lift and such and reference to the fact that it could take a good while to get a tank via land to the AO. Well I know some things about realisim and I know a C130 could not lift a Main Battle Tank like an Abrams. But this may be a way of bending the rules and keeping things not real easy. Unless we're going to insert a C5 and a way bit longer runway. Most likely NOT an option. A c130 could be scripted to load a Tank and air drop it. And of course the tank is subject to any physics if it lands wrong. Even possible destruction. Would this be viable or perhaps a good idea?
