  1. Static and distortion here to in single player campaign

Using the sound card that came with my MOBO. Did not have the problem with 1.02.. prolly cause I couldn't even get to this stage in the campaign.

Still it's only happened once & the patch has made the game "playable" so I'm not complaining!

  2. I'm hanging out for the next driver pack from NVIDIA as they seem to be putting in more of an effort fixing the game than BIS are.

I might be wrong about BIS but the months keep on ticking over & I would really love to play the single player campaign the way I intended to when I spent my hard earned cash on the game.

There should have been a sticker on the front of the box that read:

"Beware! you will not be able to play the single player campaign as we have not yet ironed out a quarter of the bugs. Have a nice day"

  3. I am playing every days and nights ... and have no issues playing MP.

I am happy with the game working well.

The only issue I have on MP is on servers populated by newbies trying to play ArmA2 as BF. When playing with mature players Coop as TvT are great.

So what is your problem? I thought this thread was about bad graphics performance.. did I miss something.

Not everyone is an online "Old Bear" :annoy:

  4. It's a sorta funny game as it has a mind of it's own. One day you will be cranking along with hardly any problems but the next day it will be errors & crashes.

Leave it alone for a day or two & it will probably run flawlessly. Day one was a complete bummer for me. I lost that lovin' feeling.. you know the one you get with great anticipation.

    ARRRRRGGG!!

  5. Hmmmm.... i play on 1920x1200 all Settings on Ultra High... my GPU get a Temerature of 85 - 88 °C then the Game Crash... can this be the Problem ?

That temp is fine for your GPU. Anything over 92ish can start giving you problems.

What sort of card (Make/Model) do you have? cause some cards like mine (EVGA 8800GToc) have programs that allow you to fine tune your card & boost fan speeds.

My GPU runs at around 60-65°c on 1920x1200 in ArmA 2. Other games it can reach 90 but hasn't since downloading the the program. 75 is the tops

  6. Few quick thoughts

    Any OC'ing ?

Any Error Logs from crash ?

    Monitored Temps @ crash ?

Run a intensive benchmark application to try and stress the system to the same point with same or different resuslts ?

The only thing OC'ed is my GPU & that's factory. Does not seem to cause any problems in other games. Reaches about 68c playing ArmA 2 with the fan set at 55%.

I tried out turning off PhysX acceleration http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=76908 & it seems to run much better in the "My missions" & I did not have any CTD's or graphics corruptions.

I'm not that keen to get back into the single player campaign as that's where the problem is. I think I'll wait for another patch or 3 before attempting to give it a shot.

Thanks for the help fellow soldiers :)

  7. chkdsk c: /f /r

    defrag c:

I use O&O defrag once a week & the disc has no errors.

I'll probably run into a problem sometime this arvo as I'm going to push ArmA 2's limits to see where the problem lies. I'm 100% sure it's not my computer but more of the #2's coding in-game. Never had this prob with #1

I should have listened to the game reviewers out there but the demo was so much fun I had to buy it. Shame the Demo ran 3x smoother than the full version on my rig.

  8. - See units in the distance with zoom, or binocs, when I approach they are vanished. The 2 examples were first an APC (definitely in audio range, vanished without a trace as I approached the area (no sound of its engine), secondly I saw a troop transport truck and several soldiers in a village from the outskirts (I was roughly 200m away) I approached from flank and when I arrive everything is gone, troops, and truck. Again - no audio heard for the vehicle if it had just left the are unnoticed.

    Any feedback would be great.

That sent shivers down my spine. Ever thought of writing a unexplained mystery novel ;)

  9. I Finally got my copy of ArmA 2 in the mail today (Purchased from Game.co.uk) as it's not out for over another week in Australia.

I installed the game with the serial number supplied on the back of the manual. After a hours wait on installing I started the Single player campaign & rescued the hostages & blew up the coms, went back into the village where the graphics went all corrupted (tearing/flashing white) & the game froze up for about the third time, this time it did not CTD but a full restart of the computer was needed.

Went to launch the game (Disc in drive) for the fourth time, it went through the "tick boxes" and the BI logo came up then crashed back to desktop saying "Bad serial given in setup" or something along those lines.

I patched the game to the latest 1.02 before starting.

I can provide photo's of the box, disk & receipt & anything else to prove validity.

I am in the process of reinstalling in case any corruption happened in the game crash but I am worried that if it crashes again the same problem will occur.

    *Update*

I have been playing for a few hours now & it has not crashed (yet). I restarted the computer a couple of times to see if it caused the "Bad serial given in setup" msg but it has not. I am thinking though that when a hard crash occurs it will cause some files to corrupt thus making the copy protection shit itself.

If this keeps happening & we get no response from the Dev's I'm sending the game back for a refund :(

Anyone else had the same problems or could point me in the right direction
