But how do you get the hospital to the front? Every time I do 0-0-2 it ports me back to the hospital near HQ.

ARMA II Patch 1.03 & Dedicated Server Released .
Stridergg replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hmm, you don't make sense though. If the devs say that Steam cannot patch using data differences, which means it needs to pull the entire files again, how is that not Steam fault? Unless something was lost in translation, that quote sounds like Steam needs to do something differently, not BIS. -
Really long and "story-driven" MP missions. Are they wanted???
Stridergg replied to laggy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
I definitely prefer story-driven coop missions. Missions like Domination and CTI are great and awesome but my friends and I usually play them when no new story-driven missions are available. -
This mission is simply awesom. It starts out pretty standard but then ramps up and the ending is extremely tense. We liked it A LOT. One thing i would recommend changing though. IMO the weapon dealer's chooper should arrive a bit sooner - it took so long we thought something got broken in the script but eventually it came. Great stuff, thanks a lot.

Nice guide, just one tiny comment. You can also use middle mouse button to select options in menus (i.e. the mousewheel), which is more convinient - scroll with the wheel and click the same wheel. You can also cancel a menu with right mouse button, which is also more convinient because you don't have to reach for Backspace. Only you need to make sure the menu is active (i.e. it's not "greyed out"), otherwise you will zoom instead (you can make a menu active by using the mousewheel).

The second script is not for the vehicle to be recoverable with a chopper, it's (just like the first one) to make the vehicle respawn. The difference between the two is that the first one will respawn the vehicle if it's destroyed or left empty for awhile, the second one will respawn it only if it's destroyed. I am not sure why the game crashed, check the following: 1. Make sure you are adding one of those scripts to the unit's Init line in the editor. 2. Make sure you are adding the vehincle as an Empty unit (not as a USMC unit). 3. Do not blow up the vehicle in its respawn spot. While usually it's not a problem, if I remember correctly, in some rare cases this will screw up the respawn spot and the vehicle will stop respawning. 4. Make sure you copied everything (all files in all subfolders) from the "unpacked" location into the Arma2\missions. Maybe you are missing some scripts. 5. For what it's worth, I am not sure if it changes anything, but in my mission I don't have the "_" in front of the "handle", so in my case the Init line looks like this: handle = [this, 120] execVM "x_scripts\x_vehirespawn2.sqf" BTW, make sure you copy the above line to avoid typos.

The Assault of Pavlovo v1.00 - Multiplayer (Coop-36)
Stridergg replied to Brute's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Does this missioon include some kind of Revive functionality? How does it handle respawn? -
Co_10_Operation_Magpie v1.0 released!
Stridergg replied to TurokGMT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
If I am not confusing missions, I think this one is in desperate need of something like Revive functionality. Getting killed in the first village, respawning in the begining and running all the way back was painful. -
I am not sure (as I haven't done it), but maybe it is possible to allow any wreck to be liftable and repairable. You should check the two config scripts in the root folder of the mission (I forgot the names and I am at work atm). In the same files, for example, you can make any "healthy" vehicles "liftable" by the regular Lift choppers (and I did do that just to speed up our mission a bit by airlifting tanks and stuff). On the other hand, in some cases, it will be pain in the ass to locate such wreck if it's not near one of the missions. I remember accidently releasing a humvee while airlifting it. I couldn't find it afterwards even though I knew the approximate location. :)

You should do a little bit of reading before asking, your question has been answered by me on the previous page (with an additional clarification on this very page above).

"Follow Me" and "Fire for Effect" commands. Can You?
Stridergg replied to BeerHunter's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
"Return to Formation" or "Regroup" (in the Space-menu) are your "Follow Me" commands and they work fine. "Suppress" (available in the Space-menu when you hold Alt) is supposed to be your "Fire fo Effect" command but I think it's broken atm as it doesn't really do anything. -
Oops, sorry. I thought I found what needs to be in the Init line by looking at the existing vehicles, when, in fact, Xeno posted his advise in his old Arma 1 thread. I apologize for misinformation. When you place a vehicle into a Domination mission, here is what needs to be in the Init line: handle = [this, 120] execVM "x_scripts\x_vehirespawn2.sqf" Just copy and paste the above line. I don't really remember the details about it (the parameters and stuff), it worked for me just fine like that so I didn't have the need to tweak it.

New players need a detailed manual!
Stridergg replied to l mandrake's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
It's the same in Arma 2, I've tested it with a friend in MP. BTW, my friend and I, we never played OFP or Arma 1 and we never read Arma 2 manual (first it wasn't available with Nexway download and by the time Steam published it, there was no need for it). We do just fine, we learned the game by using common sense and a bit of trial and error. It's not that hard. -
ArmA2 1.03 Impressions - ALL Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here
Stridergg replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I definately don't feel anything like the OP. :) Yes, AI's X-ray vision is annoying, so I just lowered its accuracy to compensate until BI resolves the issue. Works great. Yes, it would be nice to have even better graphics, sounds, animations, whatever and also being able to run it on Pentium 2. It's just a wishful thinking though, you won't be able to enjoy any game if you are thinking like that. The game is great and works almost perfectly fine where I need it to - coop MP missions. No crashes or other "gamestopping bugs". Maybe campaign is bugged, I don't know, haven't tried it much, but all the coop MP missions out there will provide me with so much enjoyment that will allow me to wait for when the campaign is fixed (patch 1.10? :)). I guess, my points is that some negative aspects of the game's current state can be either avoided or minimized. However, if the result is still annoying you and you don't enjoy the game in its current state, by all means put it on a shelf and wait a year. Just don't announce it to the world like anyone cares that you don't like sound in some game. Hehe, every freaking game has its share of "the game is not worthy of my time" drama queens. -
What is so unfinished and half assed about a chopper flying away when it's being shot at?
