lol, I figured that's what you meant. Sorry I'm no help. I have the same type of ram as you DDR3 1600 and the usage is miniscule. Thats ok though. The game is maxxed out and runs absolutely flawless for me.
-
Why would you want it to use all your ram? I'm confused.

Multiplayer Fps still capped
ICE-Raver replied to tankkiller01's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
My FPS is capped at 33 as well. Has been on 3 builds that I have used on this game. I can run the game full out now. Highest settings, 1680 x 1050 and I get a rock solid 33 fps that never moves. The game runs phenomenal so I'm not too pissed about it, I would just like to know how many frames I can get for my own knowledge. I've tried everything I know and I can't figure out what the hell is capping it. My squadmate is running a similar system and we went over every setting and matching them up and his is uncapped while mine is capped at 33. Very strange. -
An open letter to BIS Devs re: GTX 295 rigs.

Is this just a 295 issue? I am having phenomenal performance with SLI 280's. -
Explain huge performance difference between Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32bit)
ICE-Raver replied to bono_lv's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
It is "FUND"-amentally flawed. Meaning customers won't drop enough "FUNDS" on it for MS to continue to try and sell it. Vista got a bad rap quick and it killed their sales. So here comes windows 7 to save the day. Funny thing is, Microsoft had a commercial out a while back where they repackaged vista with a new name and got unsuspecting customers to say they loved it. Hopefully that's not windows 7.:D -
Explain huge performance difference between Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32bit)
ICE-Raver replied to bono_lv's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Vista is the new Windows ME I can't wait for Microsoft to send me my Windows 7 upgrade. Back when I was running XP Crysis Wars came out and I was playing it with awesome results on my old system. I did an "upgrade" to vista and I couldn't even hardly play the game anymore. I had so many issues, mainly with framerate/performance/lag that I quit playing the game and gave up. I would have reverted back to XP but I couldn't find my software. Now here I am again, 6 months later running vista 64 on a new build. It is actually running really well, but I still feel like it is holding my system back. Did I mention I can't wait for my copy of Windows 7? It comes free with vista bought after July 1st ya know?;) -
new to games and I am an old fart - Help!
ICE-Raver replied to BDG's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Question on windows 7. I just upgraded my pc this month and I got 64 bit vista from newegg and it came with a free upgrade to windows 7. I went to Microsoft and filled out everything and I was informed that my upgrade is on order and will arrive in mid october-december 5th. If I install the demo windows 7 do you think there will be issues when the full version gets to me? Or do you think I should just wait? -

FYI your native resolution is 1920x1200. Just run a 16:10 ratio and all is well. Unless you like stretched images. -

ICE-Raver replied to majBUZZ's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
You should be running this one: 190.38 (64 bit vista, gtx 260) I don't even know where you came up with that other one. download here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_64bit_190.38_whql.html -

1680x1050 is the native res of my monitor. What is the make and model of your monitor? If it is picking 1900x1200 that is probably its native resolution but a quick google check can tell you for sure. -
Anyone running Vista 64 and having fps over 30(or having "sync" near 30) in campaign?
ICE-Raver replied to iHarri's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Alright. I rebooted my system and got it working again with no issues this time. By default my pre-rendered frames were 3. I was stuck at 33 fps all the time. Turning pre-rendered frames to 5 made my fps go up to 44. Turning pre-rendered frames to 8 made it jump to 64. I haven't played yet but I ran around the main base on a co-op map and it was very smooth. Thing is this makes no sense whatsoever. Everything I have ever read about this setting says that turning it higher will reduce FPS. In any case. It's working right now. I'll do some testing and get back to this thread. -
I use riva tuner. I have mine set to automatically run my GPU fan at 100%. It does it as soon as windows starts up. You can set it however you like. And talk about a jet engine. I run all my fans 100%. I have 2 120mm case fans running 140cfm, 2 120mm case fans @ 60 CFM, & 1CPU cooler fan @ 110 CFM. Plus my GPU fan at 100% (don't know the cfm on it) I can almost blow the sides off my case when they start spinning. LOL If you want to set your case/cpu fans go into your bios/power settings/ and turn fan control to manual. Turn them up to 100%. It's louder, but if heat is an issue max them babies out.

Will my lappy run this game?
ICE-Raver replied to stuffedfigs's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
No it won't. Not worth a damn anyway. If you can get arma 2 to play well on it, you need to apply to NASA This is my laptop I use on the road :ASUS G Series G2Sg-A1 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T9300(2.50GHz) 4GB Memory DDR2 667 Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT It plays many games well, but I wouldn't even attempt to play arma 2 on it. -
Yes it is just as good, It works exactly the same except it goes on a hat instead of being clipped on headphones. It's not nearly as fancy by any means but it works perfectly. If you don't mind wearing a hat while gaming (I don't) and aren't wearing headphones (I play on surround sound) then you can't beat it. It comes with the track ir. I only got the headphone clip because I bought a kit off ebay and it came with it.
-
The trackir comes with a little metal clip that you stick on the bill of a hat. It has 3 reflectors on it. http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/02-products/0-resources-products/TrackClip-black-isoRight.jpg
-
I bought the track clip but ended up just using a hat with the normal clip and my 5.1 surround since my man-cave is my basement anyway. I have a set of sennheiser headphones but I had issues getting the trackclip adjusted right so I quit using it. That was the first day or 2 of having the trackir though. Note that the clip fit the headphones perfectly. The adjustment issues were software related. My sennheisers are HD 555. They were much higher when I got them but they are really affordable now and SUPER nice with GREAT sound. If your going to use headphones you cant go wrong. I use a desk mic. http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD555-HD-555-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B0001FTVDQ reviews http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones/sennheiser-hd555/4505-7877_7-30822851.html

ICE-Raver replied to BDG's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I run............ 1680 x 1050 (my native resolution yours may be different.) 1680x1050 100% AA normal AF normal Shadows high PP low and all other settings to high. Try that. If you get bad results lower AA & AF to low. If you still have bad results turn shadows down & maybe turn everything else to normal. Remember to turn off headbob if you don't like all the shaking around. Good luck. -
Anyone running Vista 64 and having fps over 30(or having "sync" near 30) in campaign?
ICE-Raver replied to iHarri's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
EDITED! That did work...................................Kinda. I'm WAS getting 65 FPS! 1680 x1050 with normal and high settings! When I switched it to 8 it worked perfectly but caused some weird loading issues with the game. However I went back and changed that setting and tried each 1-8 to try to overcome the loading issues and it quit working altogether. Even setting 8 which boosted my frames initially no longer does anything. Back to 33. I don't know wtf at this point. -
I have a 6 month old Asus G-Series gaming laptop with better processor and video card. I use it on the road to play RTS games like World In Conflict and C&C. It plays them maxxed out rather well and I would not even CONSIDER trying to play arma 2 with it. Sorry man, your laptop isn't even close to being high enough spec for this game.

Nvidia Cards- Disabling Physx really works!
ICE-Raver replied to Feros's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
That is a driver issue. I've had that happen on different games in the past. Remove and re-install updated drivers and see what happens. I also had that issue when trying to force DX9 on bioshock when it first came out. You can also get that if you go to high on an overclock. Is your gpu stock speeds or did you tweak it? -

ICE-Raver replied to iHarri's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I usually get 33 on vista 64. Funny thing is no matter what I do to my settings it's always 33. Sometimes it dips down to 28 in some situations but then right back up to 33. It hits 33fps like vsync is controlling the frame rate. It wants to go higher but there is some kind of wall stopping it. There is definitely some optimizing to be done with this game. Especially on new hardware. -
This game made me violently sick. Might persue legal action.
ICE-Raver replied to bigtime102's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Ahhhh yes..........there it is...........the standard ol' post threatening legal action. Every game forum I have ever been a part of has had at least one or two. Usually its some tool trying to get everyone to join a class action suit. Sigh...................anyway, feels like home now. -

Makes no difference whatsoever when I have it enabled or disabled. -
I've never had speeds like that with D2D. They give you a line that's usually 1000kpps+

Did you just call someone a troll? Funniest post I've read all day.
