35 - 50 FPS on a system way below those specs you say? I want to see a screen shot of that. Even my squadmate running a system similar to mine on SLI doesn't get 50 FPS unless you are talking about on the loading screen. No way your getting 50 fps in game on high man.

Don't feel bad man I get about the same. 25-35. I've tweaked settings till I'm blue in the face and I get about the same performance on high, normal and low. Strange

ARMA 2 - Seriously bad graphics for a 2009 game
ICE-Raver replied to chaos1986's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I don't know what crack you are smoking. Maybe turn the graphics on something other than low and you will change your mind. Arma 2 is a stunning game. Some of the best graphics and effects out there IMO. -
MOUT team attack during AT Practice
ICE-Raver replied to Tex Zero's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Same thing happened to me. Just do MOUT first. -
I bought mine from Steam. However......................I have used D2D many, many times in the past with zero problems other than having to wait on an occasional patch which happens with steam as well. Direct to drive and steam basically work the same way. D2D you download the game and they send you a code. You can download the game over and over. I have downloaded certain games multiple times. Not an issue. Steam works the same way except steam downloads and installs the game in a steam directory. Steam also patches games automatically though there can be a delay sometimes of a day or so from the patch release date. Personally I like steam better, but D2D is just as good really. I also love the fact that I don't have to keep up with cd's. I haven't bought a game on CD/DVD Rom since back in the day. I'll never go back.

Banned when connecting to tbgclan server(PVP)
ICE-Raver replied to Spikyjos's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I got kicked from that server yesterday after I was team killed multiple times. That is the server running Hold PVP right? Some guy Kept shooting our helos when they took off. The first time he got me I wa piloting and had a full load of guys and it said I tk'd them all because I crashed. Shortly thereafter he got me again in a helo and I respawned, saw him laying in the grass with a rocket ready to shoot someone else down and I shot him. I was kicked and when I rejoined I was kicked again. I played for like 2 hours prior to that crap with no issues. -
So ive spent more time tweaking than playing...
ICE-Raver replied to Malecite's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Well I was dipping into single digit FPS with the old setup so.......... It was so bad that all the vehicles clipped and aircraft skipped across the sky. Forget about going into Electrovodzk or Chernogosk. But yea, I spent 850 bucks on a new cpu, ram, mobo, cpu cooler, HD and vista 64 with free windows 7 upgrade from newegg. Still running the same video card though. I thought about adding another and going sli but I would need a PSU and another card. IE another 500 bucks or so. I can live with the framerate I'm getting now. I bumped everything to high a couple of hours ago, with aa and AF on normal and I get between 20 & 30 fps usually. Game runs smooth but I expected more. -
Don't get bent out of shape bro. I got slapped by the mods for putting something in general that should have went in feedback as well as having to long of a sig. Take it on the chin and move on.

With AA, AF and PP off I could believe that. What about shadows? I get 25-35 on my rig 1680 x 1050 16:10 WS Texture-High Video Memory-High Anti-Aliasing-low AF-Low Terrain Normal Objects Normal Shadows OFF Post Processing low __________________

nVidia Drivers Update thread (for all new nVidia drivers)
ICE-Raver replied to LondonLad's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I updated from 188.xx's and I can't tell a difference in performance good or bad. I'll keep them. -

ICE-Raver replied to Malecite's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Despite occasional CTD's and laggy servers this game runs great for me ATM. However it took major upgrade on my computer to get it to this point. I started out with an AMD 5600 4 gigs of ram and a GTX 280. Performance was dismal. I upgraded to the rig in my sig and now I average a whopping 30 fps 25-35 usually. 1680 x 1050 16:10 WS Texture-High Video Memory-High Anti-Aliasing-low AF-Low Terrain Normal Objects Normal Shadows OFF Post Processing low -
I've been playing with AI on some of the servers that allow you to recruit them. It's funny, because I tell them to load up in a chopper and IF I'm lucky they will run around in circles for a couple of minutes and finally get in. Typically only some of them will get in and then I have almost pull them out because they won't disembark. Working with an AI squad is too frustrating for me ATM.

nVidia Drivers Update thread (for all new nVidia drivers)

I just installed them as well. I'll play some today and see if there is a noticeable difference from the 188's I was running. -
How Satisfied with Arma2 Are you??
ICE-Raver replied to mattyh1986's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I picked "Good game, Some problems ive managed to over come now running smooth " I had issues with this game for nearly 2 weeks now. I ended up upgrading my rig and tweaking the hell out of the game and video settings and I finally got it to run halfway decent. I found that most issues pop up on the large 64 man servers while smaller servers run great. Still some slight issues with jerkiness and low fps, but overall it's running pretty well for me. -
What is your favorite ARMA 2 Loadout?
ICE-Raver replied to Redfield-77's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I like the m4 with acog and 203's with smoke grenades. I also use the xm8 sharpshooter quite a bit. I usually carry some sort of AT rocket as well. I tend to carry a loadout that supports the role I am playing at the time. -
My trackir is working flawlessly now. I don't know what changed, but when I upgraded my PC a few days ago I reinstalled everything and now on the trackir software screen when I move my head it seems to sort of snap to the left and right. I mean, its incremental but its very precise and it doesn't bob up and down like it used to. I'm using the same settings as before as far as I can tell but it feels really nice now. Still not using zoom though.

I still haven't seen one game actually come to an end. Last night I played for 3+ hours on the same server. We owned basically every major town and even finished the side missions but new stuff just kept popping up. I don't like to quit before the match is over, but I didn't have a choice. The only time I have seen a match end is when an admin reset the server. So whats the deal on this?

I have to hold num-lock and then hit enter on the numpad.

Having troubles getting past 30 fps during multiplayer sessions. Q9550/GTX295
ICE-Raver replied to Soliex's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I average 25 - 50 with my rig with everything on normal and shadows/pp off. When I had shadows on I never broke 33 fps. -
For those with powerful machines still unable to play ArmA II
ICE-Raver replied to Merefield's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I find that servers with around 30ish players max run flawlessly for me. It's only when I join the big servers 64 usually that everything goes to crap. -
I played a game last night where pilots in an a10 kept circling eh battle asking for people to laser targets. I got a designator from the ammo crate but it wouldn't let me equip it. It showed in my gear and everything and that was it.

You wanted it. You got it. Now quit your whining.
ICE-Raver replied to BeerHunter's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I wasn't in Beta. I never played ARMA 1. My first experience with ARMA was when I bought it on steam last week after playing the demo for a couple of days. There are countless bugs with this game, especially MP bugs. If ANYONE has an issue with guys like me bringing up issues and complaining here and there tuf shit. -
Can I get some help please "no message received"
ICE-Raver replied to ICE-Raver's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
First thing I checked was my dsl. I have a dedicated 10meg/756 line at my house. I don't have a land line for phone at all so I do not run filters. I checked my line with multiple speed tests and everything was good.. Then I checked for packetloss using ping plotter pro and a couple of other tools. No packet loss detected. Finally I told dsl that their service was dropping out to get a service guy out;) He tested everything and said it was perfect and actually better than most he sees. He found a few errors but nothing major. He ended up putting me on a different line for the hell of it and it runs better now than ever. No I don't think it is my internet connection at all. Maybe something in my router or windows. But not my DSL. -

No its all of them. I play on 5 or 6 different servers normally and I get this on all of them. -
Could this be possibly the best game in history?
ICE-Raver replied to TheMonster's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Umm, yea. Besides the bugs. I think this game is absolutely phenomenal. Or it will be once they fix a bunch of stuff. I have faith though. All new releases have issues. Unfortunately I have yet to make it through a single online game without crashing or getting a "message not received error" so I'm a bit frustrated at the moment. Get rid of the bugs & do something to make the online play a bit smoother and they have a killer game.
