Can you use tanks as artillery in Arma2, and use it same way on the map like a mortar? If not i think BIS could implement this easily in a patch later.

viewdistance and other dissapointments

Cant argue with what was said, some of it is true. I just want to remind of a slider called objects detail that could be useful. It´s not counting the amount(there is a slider for that to) of objects, just how detailed they are. And also i like to say, one pixel is far better than noone, and it´s a big difference to get it visible than not seing anything. ---------- Post added at 02:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:56 PM ---------- Less object detail = Less lag and the possibility to have more objects. -

The rest is also fixable, in short. ---------- Post added at 08:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:46 AM ---------- But you cant have it all shiney, got it? -

Where have you been? You just confirmed what i already knew:stuck: If the others sliders would go longer the other way the fps should rise, the problem is that they dont. Atleast not yet, but who knows, well see, after dragon is relised what happens. -

This has been done in OFP. -

Yes add a little more realism in a simulation style, and forget about animations and such foolish things for a while. Just look at this. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=82061 That is what BIS is doing, and i can understand Mandrake5, those areas that really need to be improved are forgotten about, this is not stupidity, this is somthing else. -

Did you thought that you knew everything, or that nothing could surprice you anymore? And about the ferrari forum, yes thats not a bad idea. In this topic me and others are crying for viewdistance, physics, renderingdistance, lag. In reality it´s only two things, graphics and physics, it´s just that physics is a very large part of the game so it need to be devided in sub categories like shortley viewdistance, renderingdistance, models, bullet trajectory, penetration values and such things. Yes. -

Suposed youre right about the viewdistance cant be improved in Arma2 without major changes, you should be able to expect a drawdistance from 5000-10000 meters to say it have a physical improvement from Arma. The poll in this case is speaking a clear language, almost better than i can write. And also i do belive it would be increased to the point of Arma1, witch is somthing about 3000 meters. And you could imagine that bis is playing a strategical game with the others on this. If look from the other angle it look a little silly. And dont think it really matters, but thats just a theory. Who knows, it may be a genius move. -

arma2disapointed replied to arma2disapointed's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Are you sure of that? We are talking about the game now. If what you say is true then:yay::yay::bounce3: Have you possible some idea how far they can go before disappear? Or if they have some hight limit before disappear? In OFP it was somthing about 2500 meters. And if it´s unlimited in Arma2, then the physics has improved. -
:):):) Thats making a animation that dont even exist in reality, and simultaniusly trying to improve the FPS in the game. I have nothing more to say.

numerical entry for motars and cannons
arma2disapointed replied to twisted's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
That´s about $0.5 mil/hour 400 hours to fix the game would be enough in a very simple calculation. If really focus on the main problems instead of the shine on the eyeball on a innocent soldier. -

arma2disapointed replied to arma2disapointed's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Spotter on hillside, clear day. In reality the viewdistance could be 60-100 km if try not to bread on the glases. Why dont just make it possible, even if most computers cant handle this and have every other setting on full or high, hope you see the point. And i have a feeling that you already know the answer to youre question. ---------- Post added at 07:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:17 PM ---------- Have to add. The trajectory = game physics. -
viewdistance and other dissapointments
arma2disapointed replied to arma2disapointed's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
The point is that the trajectory of the projectile should be physically corect. Without using any scripts. And with artillery you dont have to see the target, or it could be rain/fog that day so the viewdistance is 1 km. Second would be to deside what aiming to have on the artillery. -

I would say that the weakness of the game engine is that you need to add addons to the game to make it a whole or compleat game. BIS could do this from the start, and so what that the game would be big. Now it´s just done for addons, and it´s very rareley you got to experiance a multiplayer game with everything 100% working if there is many addons inside.
