I've had ARMA2 for a few days, got it via steam. I've only played it with headphones as the sounds annoy my parents, but while they where out I put it through the surround sound, and was disappointed to hear only the front left and right speakers working. Is the game not 3D surround enabled? BTW it's a 5.1 system.

Got it sorted on the A10, and the MV22 but not the C130, more practice I suppose?

Do the towing trucks work? I back one up to a plane (Tried with A10 and KC-130) and click attach, but nothing seems to happen? Help.

When I join certain servers the screen goes black and then I get the message, unable to join server. Any fixes?

How in an osprey do you do a VTOL (Vertical take off and landing.) Properly. I can do the landing by engaging auto hover, but when you try to take off you go forward quite a way which isn't right. STOL (Short Take off and landing) How do you this, as far as I know in the real world the pilot pivots the rotors to 45 degrees, then applies thrust. Anyway of doing it in game apart from the dodgy auto hover method. If not it needs doing in the patch IMHO, you can't take off on the LHD flight deck without STOL.

Don't waste money on 4 Gigs of ram, XP 32 can only handle two Gigs on the motherboard and up to 1 gig on the graphics card.

What OS are you using?

Current Specs AMD 6000+ Dual Core, default 3.1GHZ. Overclocked to 3.27 GHZ. 2GB DDR2 800 Ram. ATI 4830 Graphics card. 500W PSU What could I improve in this setup, defiantely going to get 4GB of ram, no point getting more as I'm running XP 32, so.... What else, new CPU looking at an AMD Quad 3.0 GHZ overclocked.

Takes what about a minute to install steam on the computer, log in and double click on ARMA2 and wow it downloads. You can minimize the window and do other things at the same time, I'd love to try and do that with a DVD install, and you don't need a flaming CD key when you go via STEAM, thats gotta be the best reason yet.

I've got an ATI 4830, AI doesn't affect the FPS that much, running a 1920*1080

My mates and I try and all join a server hosted by one of us. Most of the time we can't join as we either just get waiting for host constantly, or get stuck on wait for host. Is there a way to fix this?

Other games feature proper aircraft carriers complete with lifts, catapults, arresting gear ect. So there's no reason for it to not be in ARMA 2.

Thats good, I was planning on just getting a joystick and pedals, but it's cheaper to get a wheel, stick and pedals.

Can you have both a joystick and wheel plugged into your PC at the same time and use one for planes and one for cars tanks boats ect? Many thanks. Also do cars have a proper analogue throttle or is it like the plane one?

Yes as Call of Duty 4 and all my DVDs come out in 3D surround sound.

Don't forget though the bit of Chernarus that's populated is tiny compared to the full map, hopefully when it's all finished in future updates we will have a need for a bigger carrier.

Point I'm trying to make is that ARMA 2 needs a carrier with a flight deck and all the gear to make it possible to land jets on the flight deck.

The LHD has certainly something that hasn't been used to it's full potential within the game. But on armaholics there is already work happening on a driveable LHD, and will hopefully in the future have working lifts and deck catapults. The only thing that I really want to see soon is a way to land non VTOL STOL capable aircraft on the flight deck, you can't land most of the jets as there's no catch cables.
